hi i'm using gingercruzt 8.4 its an awesome rom
i just wonder if any of the kernels floating around is compatible with this rom
thanks in advance
You will have to try some kernels like alfs or linuxDX, NAa kernel. The linuxDX and alfs are made for the gingerDX ROM but may work ok on gingercruzt
Hope you got some insight

Which is the most stable customized ROM for my Xperia X8 , preferably of a later version than Froyo (V2.3 or later). Cyanogenmod 7.1 for Xperia X8 has troubles with connectivity (wifi/3G) and I therefore avoid it.

if you're looking for a GB rom, miniCM is probably the stablest, and definitely the least prone to battery drain.
I would go with GingerDX v021 plus the Alfs kernel v06 its a killing combination

hi guys
This is a noob question but which one is better?what is the reason that developers try to release their ROMs 4 stock kernels when they are custom ones out there?

Custom kernels can give you better performances and more options then Stock kernel. However, there are some phones that cant have their bootloader unlocked so they have to stick to stock kernel ( phone produced after 29th week of 2011 cant unlock bootloader).

As said by him , Custom ROM + Kernel give you a big boost in performance. If you can't unlock your bootloader go with GingerDX(the only one good for stock kernel)
if you can unlock go for GingerDX + Alfs kernel , by far the best in performance.

They still make roms for stock to support those who can't unlock their bootloader. For me, custom kernels are better, with only one problem: it drains a little bit more batt than the stock, but a boost in performance.
I use nAa-11 kernal, it have more updates then the others and a good performance. In nAa roms you have to use it, because the wifi is built in the kernel and not in the rom.
I hope it helped. Sorry my bad english
It the thanks if I helped
Tnx buddies
No currently i'm using nAa 11... i was just confused about this custom & stock stuff

I have stock kernel, and i can't unlock bootloader. i want to ask wich rom should i use wich is fast and stable. thanks
Got many custom rom at forum.
Which custom is better, good batery life and performent?
I am newbie...
Custom for sure, because it improves performance of your phone. And also does other stuff but i think you will not understand.
I think primeHD and GingerDX are good for stock kernel

Which kernel is better for minicm7 2.2.0.I think the rom have better xperience on alfs for minicm than naa11.
For some repiles thanks.
No, it runs only on nAa kernel.
I know but which kernel is better for this rom?
Hmm it was stated on the thread. nAa always the rom together with the kernel, that rom was made for nAa kernel so I advice using nAa. If you feel AlfCM7 is better then you can use it, it depends how you feel so its a personal choice actually

Does anyone know if we can use the latest kernel version v09a for ROM LEWA ROM_RDX FOR X8 V3 or does it has to be only v08a
We can use it, but the thing is, Alfs v09a is kind of unstable.
Probably it works, its not that different from v08a.
But, its filled with screencuts, reboots, and some other bugs.
But, u cud give it a try, if u can handle the instability.
And, u have to use the GDX version of it.
Use it on alf8 on alf9 it is really unstable.....
