I Just Bricked My Samsung Galaxy Ace - I Switch it On and It Shows Samsung Logo Forever and Im Stuck There. I Can Still Access Recovery and Download Mode Though
If Im Not Wrong, I Bricked It By Deleting Certain System Files, Is There A way to Restore The System Files via Download Mode or Recovery Mode ?
* I Deleted Samsungbootloop.qmg, And The Next time I Booted, This Happened. Could it Be A Cause ? I've Read other Forums About this File, and It Seems Like it Doesnt Brick the Phone If Deleted
Btw, My Phone Model Is GT-S5830i
U only shot is to flash through odin dont worry nothings wrong yet ...your phone is not even close to being bricked try rom manager and report rom manager is the best brick tool out there

Haha Cool! Got Odin v1.85 Working on My Computer, Just Wondering About The Firmwares... Does CSC and PDA Matter ?
So I've Connected My Phone To The Computer, While My Phone Is In Download Mode. My Computer Cant Seem to Install the Driver, Can I Still Use Odin ?
*Sorry I know I Ask Alot Of Qns, But I Just Wanna Be Extra Careful
No problem its good to be careful than be sorry
No u cant proceed until odin shows that "yellow box " .
About your pc not recognizng your phone you should have the samsung usb drivers ull find them at samfirmware.com
And also when u use odin u must "run as admin " or "run as vista executable( i hope u have seen some odin tutorial ) first keep odin open then connect your phone
I m sorry for the late replies...i know how excited/ sad u are ..please bear with me
You know you are rooted when you use XDA more than FB
I dont know about csc and pda . Whenever i flashed it was always a " one package " file ...google it ...dont worry u cant brick your phone via odin unless you flash a rom not meant for your phone xD

Lol Wow I Did Google Before I asked, Just That They Gave me A Bunch Of Stuff That my Brain Couldnt Comprehend
So Now, I Have Downloaded The Stock Firmware and It Seems Like There is Only One File, Unlike In Tutorials Which Have the CSC PDA MODEM File. So I Dont know How to Use The File in Odin.
I Have Seen Tutorials Where The Stock Firmware Consist Of One File Like Mine Also, Where They Input That One Big File Into The PDA Slot. However Mine Doesnt Seem To Work.
There Could Be Afew Outcomes While Flashing that One File into PDA with Odin ( The message in Odin, Telling me what it is doing currently)
1. Setup Connection... ( And Then Stucks There )
2. Flash Failure
Mind Helping Me Abit, Seems Disastrous Lol.. Much Thanks

Hey guys ive been trying to get all i need to flash xxjpy firmware just one question?
i saw (by complete accident i might add) a guide to ''how to flash with odin'' and the guy or whatever said i need an unlocked sgs - simlock free phone as it wer, is that true? Mine is a branded vodafone 100% locked on it. Will something unspeakable happen if i try to flash it this way? (Brand new phone so im kinda nervous)
Any help may be exchanged for sexual favors xD
ps: Only hot women are elligible for the above
It's probably safer to unlock your phone before you flash it using ODIN, for obvious reasons..
P.S. I pass on thy offer.
EDIT: To unlock your phone, try this tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
So i should unlock then flash with odin......ok
one last questio Is it a permanent unlock or is it more like the iphone ultrasn0w type of deal? which needs to be unlocked everytime you update/restore?
Might be easier just to reg hack kies to get xxjpy?

which rom version are you on now ? you can always get the same version from samfirmware.com(you need to sign up to d/l the firmware) that your currently on.
If you really need to back up your rom then you'll need ROM manager & the phone needs to be rooted as well, the easiest way is to use One click root.
You don't need to have an unlocked/unbranded phone to use odin, you just need to have kies installed for the usb drivers & for kies to be exited whilst using odin.
Here is a pretty good guide for how to use odin, take you time read it throughly, make sure you understand it & remember your doing this at your own risk

Thanks With this im all set right? If for any reason i have to take it to the store for repair or whatever
Well ive done it sgs is stuck on the blackscreen right after booting animation GAAHHHH
I sent it into warranty because I removed the data cable while it was flashing (Odin Multi Downloader (Android) was writing in the black box and it was stuck at MIBIB)
It had 2.3.6 XWHTH/XWKT4 installed.
When I recieved it I noticed it has 2.2.1 XXKB1/XWKA8. When connected to ODIN, it detects it, it adds it but in the black box mentioned above is still Odin Multi Downloader (Android)
I am afraid to start the update because .. you know.. I don't wanna send it again 300 miles away from here.
Is it safe to proceed?

I guess it fine, whether it shows Android or GT-S5570 (happened to me at times) Just use Tass_v1.0.ops and the one package system, your screenshot looks fine.
Just check whether your downloaded firmware is good, just try extracting.
Even I got the same error that you've mentioned in your first post, that MIBIB error message. Just try again. If it doesn't work download another version and try flashing it.
EDIT: Probably you won't brick your device because Odin will not flash the firmware past that MIBIB error.
Sorry for the long thread but please read and help me !
Sorry moderators i tried looking for my post didnt find where you placed it. so making a new and clear where i'll tell what i ve done to my tablet.
firstly my p1000 was froyo 2.2 and i didnt checked that and tried to upgrade it to jelly bean, that was the first stupidity of my.
while doing that i faced many problems and concluded that it was brick.
how ever i had rooted my phone with super one click root..
later when it was bricked i again rooted it with cwm recovery by help of cmd.
then it was more complex, i then tried to roll it back and installed the firmware but the firmware i installed was wrong region again it went more complex.
then from some thread, i again used odin and pit it and installed some other firmware. that didnt work so i did something with heimdall suite as it was instructed and mess something with zImage thing.. all failed.
now i ve finally came up with no solution and thinking what the mess i ve done.
please help me.
now odin dont recognize the phone.
the phone is booting till the samsung welcome screen i can also listen the sound.
it also goes to cwm recovery screen and also goes to downloading screen.
please tell me a way so that it can go to normal i am happy with 2.2 froyo only.
tell me a way, please give me download links so that i dont mess it again.
remember odin not accepting it, i ve charged the phone fully and also installed the samsung usb drivers but its not helping..

but i dont know which modem file to copy.
You can extract modem.bin from the rom that you have downloaded.

i did that... but still not able to make any calls. my sim card is working on other phone though.
have tried flashing modem.bin and also tried copy and paste in vendor folder.
but its not working searching all over the forum but i dont know what to do
Settings>about tablet>Status> Service state : out of service / Mobile network state : disconnected / MDN : unknown
Where did you get the modem.bin from and which network you belong to.
I recommend starting by looking at gb stock safe, when you unpack there are a few modem.bin
Start with JPZ modem and stick it in /radio/ if latest cm10
Or to /system/vendor for slightly older one.

in gb stock safe, it was jpz modem file.. which i used to flash and it was flashed very well and there was no problem in anything.
later on when i upgraded for 4.1.1 it was also installed normally with no problem the only problem i encountered is i cant make any calls from it.
even the imei number is changed of my phone.
i also sticked the file in system/vendor .. i tried with the both file the jpz which i had from gb stock file and another from the firmware.
well now i trying to go for the latest cyanogen 4.1.1 hope everything get normal in it, and try to stick file in radio.
can you tell me particularly which file to copy and where ?
in gb stock jpz worked fine.. should i go for it ?
yes the same jpz modem.bin file into /radio/modem.bin
the one in the CM10 might be corrupted, who knows.

In that mode (secondary download mode) you should be able to flash if Odin detects.
Sometimes you need to keep trying until suddenly Odin detects it, and flash away.

Hi priyana,
I do have the same problem with my Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 and I am getting the same screen.
Did flash my device with Odin but the wrong something cwm10.x , forgot which one I used (well done I know )
It is a Vodafone (Germany) Galaxy Tab 7 (GT-P1000).
May I ask some questions:
What do you mean with "flash it away" what do you suggest him to use for flashing?
What is it? A Recovery? A Bootloader ...? And where can one find/get it?
Stupid questions - I got confused while reading thousands of threads on different websites...
But anyway, I would be thankful if you could point me to the right file I could use to flash on my Galaxy Tab ...
Thanks

Hi priyana,
thank you for your advice!
Currently I am stuck because in the middle of the flashing process the tab switched off maybe due to a low battery.
But is starting with the secondary download screen again - so I am hoping to be able to load it bit better for the next try.
Will let you know whatever outcome there will be.

Help me out guys i really need save my phone.
i have been trying to update my 2.3.6 to 4.3 (Jellybean) through Odin since I always got some weird stopping at 69% on Kies, but i seemed to fail on odin, Odin was failing to do it so i tried other odin ver and got stuck on the ''NAND Write Start'' thing, i exited odin and then tried something else i'm very stupid so i used a pit for the wrong version of my android to..help in whatever it was i dont remember, together with the ROM.
i didn't check if my phone was aleadry bricked after i force closed odin in patching in the first time so i don't know the root of the problem.
and i don't know if this is Soft or full brick but i get stuck at Firmware Upgrade encountered a issue, Kies does not help in it when i type the cellphone info into that option, it gives me a error so no way through kies. i didn't do any way yet to try to save it i'm really unsure what to do i checked really a bunch of different posts so its really confusing, i really get in panic when stuff like this happens so forgive me, i hope anyone can help in somehow, also, if better i need to save it in a way without having to wipe my stuff because most of my apps data are in the phone, but i dont mind if theres no other way than using wiping in one of the steps.
i don't really know how to follow if you link me over a thread so its better if you post the explanation here.

You must do factory reset when you go from GB to JB. That is why you get a bootloop probably.
So to make it short situations is like this:
1. You had problem with Kies
2. Tried with Odin and got force close of odin in Windows?
3. Retry with Kies with same ending
So what Windows do you use? Do you use 8? I read some had problem with Odin and 8.x. Did you use Odin 3.0.x?

also, any ways to backup things even though the thing is bricked? i can go to download mode fine and i think i can go into recovery too (never tried it on this phone)

Your internal data (on internal SD) will be there, but Factory reset will delete your apps and its data.
Or try to flash GB with ODIN and see what happens.

It is probably soft, you can go to Odin. Way to unbrick it is to flash stock firmware with Odin - like you did. Find GB firmware and flash it with odin like you did.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1985398
If your phone is I9070 then use firmware for I9070, if it is I9070P use I9070P firmware. If you miss this you will hardbrick phone, and not be able to use Download mode.
And do not use Hong Kong firmware.
sammobile.com and samsung-updates.com are sites where you can find firmwares.
You were on custom ROM when you did update with Kies?

If your phone is I9070 then use firmware for I9070, if it is I9070P use I9070P firmware. If you miss this you will hardbrick phone, and not be able to use Download mode.
And do not use Hong Kong firmware.
sammobile.com and samsung-updates.com are sites where you can find firmwares.
You were on custom ROM when you did update with Kies?

Use region next to you, I am using Italian and I am from Serbia. I do not know if you will get nand write error, you should not get it in first place. Maybe something is wrong with it...

I am not 100% sure about that. Maybe try other ODIN versions. But I used 3.0.7 without problem. Search for nand write problem to see what is it about.
P.S. Redownlaod firmware maybe, is it the same size as shown on the page when you started download?

Follow the whole procedure from that thread. Except the part of 16GB version, if you do not have one.

I am not sure if that method formats internal storage. And if you get adb shell you could do it with command or with total commander with adb plugin (for that go to my profile, to all threads I started and you will see one about it).

Odin. Like you did now, just with JB firmware for your I9070 model (P or non P, if you miss that you will hard brick, for example if you flash P firmware on non P phone, and otherwise).
Just follow this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1985398
Simple as - put firmware in PDA, hit flash. And check if you have unchecked/checked as it is written there.
Probably Kies was the problem, because that nand write error. He messed up, and now this fixed it.
