Hey,
I couldn't find any help regarding this one:
I have unlocked my bootloader using the htcdev site (i am aware of the warranty issues).
So i've got this super sexy device, with unlocked bootloader, RUU 1.16.000, S-ON CWM recovery and root access.
I've tried to install the Revolution HD rom (3 times now) and after each time i got stuck at the HTC logo screen, not the one that says"quietly brilliant", but the one the says only "HTC". So luckily (again) i've done nandroid and used it to get my operator's ROM back.
So i've got 2 questions:
1) am i a failure ? what am i doing wrong?
2) is it possible to remove all the annoying operator's apps? and how? (fastboot/adb...)
3) What the heck is Goldcard?
Thanks a lot,

1) There is a sticky in this forum. Search it for your reference.
2) You cant remove the apps cause it is located in /system/app. You might wanna try deleting them using a file manager
3) As far as I know, for incredible s, its used for downgrading hboot 1.16/2.00 to 1.13 (there is a thread somewhere around this forum) so that it could be s-off'd using revolutionary.io
Hope this helps! ^^

If you dont want to downgrade and s-off your phone you need to manualy flash boot.img via fastboot after you flashed the rom.

Hi,
I am thinking about rooting my HTC Raider (Bell) X710a. I am, however, unable to find a simple enough method.
I came across this tool for the HTC Vivid (ATT) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1498003 And was wondering if I could use the tool on my HTC Raider.
If Not, Is there a super simple way to root my phone? I am really new to smartphones and am also fairly new to technology in general
Any Help would be greatly appreciated and thanked!
That's the method I used. I have the raider on rogers. I'm pretty sure it works for yours to. You have to unlock the bootloader first tho.
By the way that method is very simple. It doesn't get any easier in my opinion. Watch his video and follow the steps.

It won't say s-off even if you root the phone. You have to take certain steps to get s-off which is being worked on now. You should still be able to root your phone through wild child recovery. The option is there.

Go here, a video shows you how to root using the recovery.
Thanks and more

sir perhaps you'd be able to help me out since i got the phone from rogers as well. so i did try to follow this tool and watch the video, but to no avail, still im not able to root my htc raider
now the video doesnt seem like a step by step tutorial for me so i just did exactly wht he was sayin. now due to prev attemt before using this tool, i was only successful with unlocking my bootloader; so i skiped the part where i have to unlock it.
i was able to flash the CWM 5.5.0.4 and used the backup/restore to make sure if anything happen i'd be bale to restore my phone. after that i went straight to permroot, and all i got on the promt command was some adb stuff out of date. i assumed maybe i had to flash kernel first to make it work, but thats the part where i got stock on the htc white screen logo. im not sure what i missed; maybe you could help me out and give me a step by step procedure...
i could really use some help

I have the HTC Vivid with android 4.0.3, I tried to unlock the boot loader through HTC Dev but when I got to the cmd part it said "Waiting On Device" and was stuck there... So I then tried to use Hasoon's All In One Kit for HTC Vivid, still no luck, this time the command prompt didn't even pop up... I had it in Charge mode and Disk Drive mode. But I saw this video of this guy unlocking bootloader from an app on the device itself but he said you have to have root access, but in order to root you have to have an unlocked bootloader (Dont you?)! So I don't know what to do, unless there's a way to root a phone with out unlocking the bootloader? Right now I don't care if I void the warranty or wipe my device, I just want to get my phone rooted! Any help? Thanks! And i dont know allot about s-off and s-on and HBoot and bootloaders and stuff, I just want to root it permanently, sheesh, I wish it was as easy as jail breaking an iPhone...
Ok guys, I tryed HTCDev to unlock the bootloaded, but when the CMD part came where its "suppost to give you the code to enter in the site, it said, "WAITING FOR DEVICE"
sounds like you just need the usb drivers man. it should be in the kit if not just google the drivers. and jailbreaking iphones isnt that easy lol
You said it you had it in disk mode? It needs to be in Charge and the USB Debugging needs to be on. Disk drive is for your SD card. You'll need that later on for flashing your Rom.
And if you follow the first window on the All In One Kit you should not have a problem. Also there is a you tube video on the root process here is the link for everything you need. Read very carefully and have patience. GL

You can always get the warranty back on your phone by installing the stock OS. Anyways to unlock the bootloader, just go to this HTC development site and put in your phone and they will give you multiple steps on how to unlock the bootloader. Go on google and look for htcdev and right in the front it will say, unlock bootloader.
Hope this helps!

I don't think you can get your waranty back of unlocking the bootloader cause even after re-locking and unrooting your bootloader will always say ***RE-LOCKED***

I had the USB divers.... And for me jailbreaking iPhones is easy...
I have a simple question.
I recently swapped my GS4 for a HTC One 64GB developer edition. I just like the freedom of custom rom etc. Anyway. I want to make sure the bootloader in unlocked. How do I go about that? Also assuming is unlocked I will nthen need to root before I can install a custom rom correct?
I know very noob questions!
Thank you
I use Hasoon's tool kit here for everything. Plug in and select reboot to bootloader and when it comes up on the phone it should say unlocked.

Awasome...Thank you I'll give it a try!
Ok...so my bootloader is unlocked....I can use the same tool to root? The tool has an option to perm root...is that it? Or do I install custom recovery first?

Hi
greetings,
First install custom recovery
now if you want to be on stock ROM then flash root.
and if you want to flash a custom rom directly flash the custom ROM as custom ROMs are pre rooted roms
and yes perm root is the option.
and using toolkit is a nice way but i would suggest you must try to do things manually. Toolkits are 100% safe but doing things manually increases our knowledge its my personal experience OR you may use toolkits but later at-least give time to read threads which explains things which have to be done manually will help you in future.
JUST MY 2CENTS OF CONSERN
I know I'm unlocked...but not rooted...so my question was if I use the same toolkit to root my phone

Do you have all the necessary files for this? (ADB, fastboot, TWRP img file, and SuperSU zip)
626(s) is totally different from 626... ive tried it and does not work. i had to buy a XTC2CLIP to get it back to the way it was and have a unlocked bootloader as well... still in search of the 626 root tho
I have the ATT 626 and it worked flawlessly for me. Download the TWRP IMG file then flash it through ADB commands. Then download SuperSU flashable zip and flash in TWRP. Not responsible for any damage though, just trying 2 help!

Well recovery don't work and it's basically destroyed my phone tried flashing the ruu but nothing is working if the phone dies I have strip it to take battery out to start it again so yeah I'll wait for propa root process thanks anyway guys

The process for root for HTC phones are unlock bootloader, flash recovery, flash SuperSU zip. To use RUU the bootloader needs to be locked. To root, bootloader must be unlocked through HTC dev portal. This is the "proper" way to root.
Well as you can see my boot loader is unlocked and I'm still stuck.. I can't wipe my phone I can't do anything can anybody give me some answers
Sent from my HTC Desire 626 using XDA
You must relock the bootloader first. Then you can use the RUU for your device.
Code:
fastboot oem lock
kingroot
ok my friend so heres what i did i first had to unlock the phone was google locked bought it from somebody else for 20 bucks i thought what a steal well maybe it was don't know but only to find it was google locked after 4 days of various work arounds i figured one out myself based on youtube workarounds and one i figured out got it unlocked didn't want to mess with a lot of bs so tried kingroot to no sucess until i unlocked bootloader through htc tried kingroot and voila another day and time i will twrp bootloader and super su it but for now just want to enjoy my new toy.
Hope this will help you and others out!
