Do you have all the necessary files for this? (ADB, fastboot, TWRP img file, and SuperSU zip)
626(s) is totally different from 626... ive tried it and does not work. i had to buy a XTC2CLIP to get it back to the way it was and have a unlocked bootloader as well... still in search of the 626 root tho
I have the ATT 626 and it worked flawlessly for me. Download the TWRP IMG file then flash it through ADB commands. Then download SuperSU flashable zip and flash in TWRP. Not responsible for any damage though, just trying 2 help!

Well recovery don't work and it's basically destroyed my phone tried flashing the ruu but nothing is working if the phone dies I have strip it to take battery out to start it again so yeah I'll wait for propa root process thanks anyway guys

The process for root for HTC phones are unlock bootloader, flash recovery, flash SuperSU zip. To use RUU the bootloader needs to be locked. To root, bootloader must be unlocked through HTC dev portal. This is the "proper" way to root.
Well as you can see my boot loader is unlocked and I'm still stuck.. I can't wipe my phone I can't do anything can anybody give me some answers

You must relock the bootloader first. Then you can use the RUU for your device.
Code:
fastboot oem lock
kingroot
ok my friend so heres what i did i first had to unlock the phone was google locked bought it from somebody else for 20 bucks i thought what a steal well maybe it was don't know but only to find it was google locked after 4 days of various work arounds i figured one out myself based on youtube workarounds and one i figured out got it unlocked didn't want to mess with a lot of bs so tried kingroot to no sucess until i unlocked bootloader through htc tried kingroot and voila another day and time i will twrp bootloader and super su it but for now just want to enjoy my new toy.
Hope this will help you and others out!

Hey,
I couldn't find any help regarding this one:
I have unlocked my bootloader using the htcdev site (i am aware of the warranty issues).
So i've got this super sexy device, with unlocked bootloader, RUU 1.16.000, S-ON CWM recovery and root access.
I've tried to install the Revolution HD rom (3 times now) and after each time i got stuck at the HTC logo screen, not the one that says"quietly brilliant", but the one the says only "HTC". So luckily (again) i've done nandroid and used it to get my operator's ROM back.
So i've got 2 questions:
1) am i a failure ? what am i doing wrong?
2) is it possible to remove all the annoying operator's apps? and how? (fastboot/adb...)
3) What the heck is Goldcard?
Thanks a lot,

1) There is a sticky in this forum. Search it for your reference.
2) You cant remove the apps cause it is located in /system/app. You might wanna try deleting them using a file manager
3) As far as I know, for incredible s, its used for downgrading hboot 1.16/2.00 to 1.13 (there is a thread somewhere around this forum) so that it could be s-off'd using revolutionary.io
Hope this helps! ^^

If you dont want to downgrade and s-off your phone you need to manualy flash boot.img via fastboot after you flashed the rom.

Hi,
I am thinking about rooting my HTC Raider (Bell) X710a. I am, however, unable to find a simple enough method.
I came across this tool for the HTC Vivid (ATT) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1498003 And was wondering if I could use the tool on my HTC Raider.
If Not, Is there a super simple way to root my phone? I am really new to smartphones and am also fairly new to technology in general
Any Help would be greatly appreciated and thanked!
That's the method I used. I have the raider on rogers. I'm pretty sure it works for yours to. You have to unlock the bootloader first tho.
By the way that method is very simple. It doesn't get any easier in my opinion. Watch his video and follow the steps.

It won't say s-off even if you root the phone. You have to take certain steps to get s-off which is being worked on now. You should still be able to root your phone through wild child recovery. The option is there.

Go here, a video shows you how to root using the recovery.
Thanks and more

sir perhaps you'd be able to help me out since i got the phone from rogers as well. so i did try to follow this tool and watch the video, but to no avail, still im not able to root my htc raider
now the video doesnt seem like a step by step tutorial for me so i just did exactly wht he was sayin. now due to prev attemt before using this tool, i was only successful with unlocking my bootloader; so i skiped the part where i have to unlock it.
i was able to flash the CWM 5.5.0.4 and used the backup/restore to make sure if anything happen i'd be bale to restore my phone. after that i went straight to permroot, and all i got on the promt command was some adb stuff out of date. i assumed maybe i had to flash kernel first to make it work, but thats the part where i got stock on the htc white screen logo. im not sure what i missed; maybe you could help me out and give me a step by step procedure...
i could really use some help

i have had many phones that i have rooted.jailbroken ,but this one has beaten me i
.i have used the hasoons toolkit and unlocked boot-loader ,tried al ways to install CWM but failed .i think i will stick to stock unless any one knows different cheers
Is it branded? If so, by who? What OS version, bootloader version, kernel version?
Got mine on release day, unbranded from P4U and haven't had any problems.
Have you tried manually flashing or just through AiO?

don't give up mate, this phone has beaten a lot of people so far but most have got it rooted and running a custom ROM, stick with it :good:
yes its locked to EE ITS 1.28.61.7
whats the best manual way to flash it?
?
I just followed Torxx guide in the dev thread (hasoon was a fail for me as well so doing it properly was much better and good experience)
1st thing I did was makes sure it was listed in the command window (adv devices) and then followed the simple instructions to flash CWM touch.

Hi guys, I have been trying to restore my device to stock and I think I misread something or made a mistake. Anyhow here is where I am..
Hboot 1.55
Phone is S-off
Bootloader is Relocked
I do not have root and I am at stock recovery.
I do not seem to be able to unlock my bootloader using fastboot oem unlock. When I try to push SU or a Custom recovery I get Failed Remote not allowed.
Can anyone point me to how I should go about getting root or the boot loader unlocked?
Thanks so much!

I was worried about doing this because in another thread somewhere someone suggested this and then someone else jumped all over them saying that this was causing all kinds of issues. While waiting for a reply it dawned on me that I still had my original unlock bin so I unlocked it using the original command. And then was able to complete the steps to un-tamper my device.
Thank you very much for taking the time to reply to me this community has been an excellent resource.
Hello,
I need help. So I have a regular Verizon HTC One M7 running on 5.0.2 with Sense 6. I want to know if it's possible to root this yet. I've looked everywhere and can't find any luck. Does anyone know if it's possible yet and if so, how? I'm kind of a noob when it comes rooting (first time) so I really don't know what to be looking for. Also, do I have to pay for S-off (What does that even do?) or can I root without it?
Thanks to anyone who tries to help
Google sunshine s off, that will be your best bet, after you get s off u probably unlock boot loader , then using a custom recovery you can root. Verizon is a pain when it comes to rooting

Well the only way you can be able to flash a custom ROM is by gaining S-OFF on this one so that means you will have to pay $25 for sunshine and then install a custom recovery then you can flash the ROMs found in the development forum for the Verizon HTC One. If you are having problems with sunshine as you said that you are on the latest software update from Verizon, you can see this thread for help. Here's an article talking about S-OFF. You might want to check it out. Lastly, you must be wondering why the users of the HTC One from Verizon has to achieve S-OFF before everything else. It's because Verizon has locked the M7 down making it impossible to unlock using HTC Dev and the only way to be able to flash a custom ROM is by getting S-OFF'ed and getting your bootloader unlocked using sunshine.
You can flash a custom recovery by using fastboot and typing the following command in the command line.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery <recoveryName>.img
In where <recoveryName> is the name of the custom recovery image you are going to flash.
Good luck!
-TAM
You'll need to
achieve temp root
use sunshine to unlock the bootloader / s-off --->25$
flash a custom recovery (TWRP)
and you can root flashing latest supersu.zip in custom recovery
Im sure there is some threads in the Verizon HTC One forum explaining how to achieve temp root

I don't need S-off because I don't have plans to add a rom. I just want to give apps root access. Can I use HTCDev.com to unlock my bootloader?
EDIT: I read what the guy above me said. I guess I have to pay for Sunshine.
