Superwipe? - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a super wipe script like there is with other devices to use in CWM for the galaxy table?
Still having problems getting any ROM on my tablet. I can get CM9 on there but it pulls that encryption unsuccessful. And if I try to install cube which is a gingerbread ROM it locks at the boot/splash screen.
How can I wipe my file system on internal memory? I have tried different pit files...maybe that's why my tablet goes into encryption unsuccessful?
I have tried doing a check in adb to check my emmc and it looks fine and not fried.
I am desperately in need of help. My tablet fits the criteria of a softbrick, but even though I can get to download mode and charge...it seems like a brick because of not being able to boot up after I flash anything.
Please please please help me

[Q] Phone won't boot, simply vibrates.

Hey guys,
I tried to update my girlfriends Galaxy S today from Darky's rom to Miui, I tried to remove the lagfix by following the instructions through recovery.
However, after the phone rebooted it now displays the Galaxy S logo, then simply vibrates periodically (every 5 seconds, than every 12 - not that I think this matters).
Does anybody have a clue what I've inadvertently done and how to recover the device - preferable without wiping the data on-board.
Thanks in advance guys.
Just an update, it's clearly a soft brick. I can still get into download mode and recovery, it did a backup before it rebooted however I've tried to restore this backup and still no joy - although I do now get the old rom's boot animation back which is stuck on an endless loop with the phone vibrating in the background.
You probably won't be able to fix it without a wipe. You should still be able to get into download mode, so you can flash a full ROM with Odin. You need to use a .PIT file and make sure repartition is checked as the file system is probably broken.

Yeah miui uses a different file system so you have to undo that as described above. Then you may be able to restore the backup.

After you guys pointed me in the right direction and a little more digging I ended up stumbled across galnet's Miui thread and his instructions through there.
To cut a long story short the phone's now running Miui and I'm not in the dog house, thanks for the help guys.
Where would I get a JTAG repair?

[Q] Is my GT_i9000 dead?

Hi, I need some advice. I dropped my Galaxy S in a puddle. It was submerged for the just a second, but when I fished it out, the screen had gone 'weird', so I got the battery out as quickly as possible, then dried it out for a few days in the airing cupboard. I then tried it and it started up okay, then when I swiped to unlock the screen, it froze. since then I have been unable to boot the phone. It shows the Galaxy logo, then restarts and continues that loop.
I wondered if maybe the software has just been corrupted during its bath, so I thought i might try flashing a ROM onto it to see if that would recover. I found that I could not enter recovery mode but download mode opened okay. I have tried flashing a few ROMS using Odin. I am completely new to this and have never flashed my phone before, so steep learning curve. I have so far tried - I9000XWJW5 which I believe is normally used before installing Cyanogen mod. I also downloaded the T-Mobile Stock ROM and one with this filename - CF-Root-XX_OXA_JW4-v4.4-CWM3RFS. All of these successfully downloaded to the phone and I could see the progress bar on the phone. Unfortunately I still cannot get the phone into recovery mode.
So, whats your opinion? is my phone screwed? Is there anything else I can try which may help, like formatting or anything like that.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
try search for value pack 2.3.6 and flash it then root it after that I believe you should get the recovery option.

Can I do that without being able to get into recovery mode?
I've just been reading that I can use a PIT file to repartition during flashing. Is it worth trying? I noticed in the Value pack TAR file it does not have a PIT file. I got one downloaded from somewhere else called - s1_odin_20100512.pit worth a shot?
I tried including the pit file as well. Odin reported success but phone is still continuous boot loop and I cannot get recovery mode up. Do you think one of those USB things that get you into download mode would help? I'm beginning to think the internal SD is knackered, or something like that.
I think the memory is brocken but i don't realy know. Send it to Samsung for a check

That phone hard bricked? Only Emergency Dload Mode works!

Hey guys.
I got here a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 (without i) and this phone doesn't turn on. Sometimes I'm getting into the "Emergency dload mode" but the usual download mode or recovery doesn't work. In december 2012 i flashed CM7 on this phone, after that I did nothing which could brick the phone. If I'm trying to plug it into my computer to odin that device the computer doesn't recognize the phone ("USB-Device not recognized", so it's not a driver problem, the whole device isn't recognized). If I turn the phone into that emergency dload mode by pressing volume+home+power this mode disappears after a few seconds, sometimes after 3, sometimes after 6, sometimes after 10 seconds. Can it be the battery? I already charged the phone half an hour. Do you think I can reanimate that phone? Or you think i need to jtag it?
Thanks in advance for any help!

But my Problem is that neither Odin nor my Computer recognizes the phone. I am not getting into download mode. Only in the emergency download mode which is not flashable with Odin.
But thanks anyway. I think that phone is dead.

Hi skayable,
You could try installing the drivers, again, just in case.
Good luck.

Did you take the battery out before pressing all the buttons? I've bricked mine a few times now (noob) and have managed to get a connection with Odin each time. Sometimes takes a few attempts, poss to do with my hands being too small to hold all buttons and put battery back in. One time, Odin took several minutes to find the device.
It's probably not a good idea to be using a flat battery. And do try re-installing the Windows standard drivers. Don't give up! If a noob can do it ...
So I sent that phone in service. They said, that the software was modified and the warranty is void. I said, they shouldn't repair it and send it right back. When I got the phone back, it worked! They flashed a new bootloader, found out that it's rooted and sent me back. Good method to get it repaired
That's so funny.
Help with my galaxy ace bricked
Hi guys, im using a rooted 2.3.6, then i did the partition for link2sd, and everything worked perfect, however since i downloaded some apps first before doing the partition, i decided to do factory settings on the phone settings so it would be like a fresh internal memory then begin downloading when link2sd is already placed, however after doing factory reset on settings, my phone just keep on rebooting, everytime i open it, i downloaded the firmware in sammobile, as per advised, however im not sure how to flash it. should i use ODIN, or use CWM and do this process.
Using CWM.
Copy Zip to SD Card
Reboot into recovery
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Wipe Cache Partition
Install Zip From SD Card
Flash ROM
Reboot
or should i follow this instruction via odin

In case of bootloop use odin and flash a stock rom.
Galaxy Ace 2 18160
Hi,
My son had this phone and rooted it, bricked it and dumped it. I would like to see if I can make it work again. It is hard bricked so the three button combo doesn't work. Can this be phone get working again?

[Q] Have I bricked my Note? What can I do?

My note was working fine on a stock rooted 4.1.2 rom and root kernel with Philz touch 5 recovery until this morning it suddenly froze. I left it for a minute to see if it would do anything, but it stayed frozen. I took the battery out and put it back in. It showed the boot logo, moved onto the "Samsung" animated screen but then froze right at the end of this screen, and started booting again and continued to do this forever.
I've tried formatting everything and flashing new kernels and roms in the recovery to no avail.
I can still boot into download mode and recovery fortunately.
I don't need root or anything, I just want a working phone as fast as possible. I don't need to keep any of my files either.
Any ideas on what I can do?
Cheers
Try clearing cache and dalvik cache first, this will preserve all your data. If that doesn't work, do a factory wipe from recovery, this will however result in all your data being lost. Of it still doesn't work, then I suggest a full reflash of a stock ROM using Odin.

If i am correct u should br on a loop.... saved myself from that by:
1)install odin in ur pc
2)put ur phone in download mode (power+volume down+home)
3)press volume up
4)once animation comes up connect ur phone to odin.it will automatically detect ur device.
5)put the proper kernels or md5 files in the correct colums
6) follow wat odin sez after that. Ur device wud be working fine

Thanks for the reply; unfortunately already tried AOTA to no avail
I suspect that the issue is to do with bad blocks in my phone's flash memory, it always fails right at the same place on "hidden.img".
I could try partitioning the memory so that it ignores the bad blocks in that area, but I'm not that good at that stuff
Does anyone have a PIT file for this please?
Cheers,
Luke

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Ace GT - S5830 boot loop and error.

Firstly, I apologize if this is in the wrong spot.
I'll just get to the point.
So about 6 months ago I was using the Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 (Aus) and as it has a terrible internal memory, I decided to root it and try to get some of the unwanted apps off. Worked like a charm, nothing wrong until I had to take the battery out as it froze one time and now I am stuck with a boot loop -.-
I tried looking into trying to fix it like I had in the past but I got frustrated and gave up. Now in current time, I want to try to fix it and get it working again. So I got the stock firmware as well as the latest version of CWM for it and the recommended version of Odin, I get the phone into download mode and then come across an issue where my laptop says that it's connected (while I have Odin up) but is an unrecognizable device. First thing I do is try to factory reset it through the recovery menu but I get the error- E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block.mmcblk0p2
I did a google search on both the boot loop and the error but I can't do anything people have said to do/try as my laptop isn't letting it be a recognizable device
I have done everything I've read in the past and have learned from past experiences but no luck. So what can I do to get the phone to work again?
If anyone can, give the method with pictures as well as I can do it better through pictures rather than reading it and hoping all goes well
Thanks

Try to carry out the sd card, then use odin to flash ROM Stock again;
after that do in recovery stock a factory rest and wipe cache partition.

What do you mean by carry out the sd card? That's all I'm not understanding, sorry.
And I apologise for the lack of reply, haven't had any wifi since I made this post.
remove the sd card and flash the stock rom
I've done that but my laptop just says USB device not recognized and because of that, Odin can't pick up the phone. This is the only issue I'm having now.

It means that your laptop doesn't recognize your Galaxy Ace, try to install usb drivers again.
alternatively, if you are able to go in revovery mode (CWM):
format the sd-card from the laptop; create a new fat32 partition (primary) and copy on it Cyanogenmod 7.2;
inser the card in your ACE and flash it from recovery;
later you can re-install usb driver on laptop and flash stock rom.

Well from what you said above it seems that somethings wrong with the phones internal memory and not the sd-card. If you are having CWM recovery(the latest one) you can do this-
I assume that your phone is rooted and with CWM installed.
Download any custom rom
Boot into CWM.
Select wipe data reset and you ll see an option saying 'clean wipe to install a new rom' (something like this)
Install zip from sdcard and select the downloaded rom.
Report back if any problem.
All the best.

I've done the custom ROM part, I used Cyanogenmod 7.2 as daniga74 suggested.
But I'm still getting this error message when I tried to wipe data/factory reset in the CWM recovery menu: E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block.mmcblk0p2

I apologize for it being rotated, the original picture isn't.

Before flash CM 7.2, try to format system and data partition from CWM (advanced menu);
if the operation was successfully flash the rom.

The error says "It fails to format sdext". Because, you don't have a sdext partition. Don't worry about it. It is normal.

are you using Win 8 or 8.1 on your laptop? Because win 8 / 8.1 cant work with samsung driver for s5830 via Odin. You must try it on older OS like win 7 to flash stock ROM.
Late reply/update
Sorry about the reply, haven't had much time to check on this as I've been moving and now have to use public wifi -.-
I have seemed to be able to get the Cyanogenmod to work and act as an OS for now, it's not what I was hoping for but it's letting me use the phone for now and that's good enough for me. Will have to properly flash it when I get the chance to and when I have a Win 7 computer to use, thank you gaineeg for pointing that out. It now makes more sense as to why it never picked up on my laptop (Win 8.1) but it did on my dads computer (Win 7).

Well if your laptop doesnt recognize the device you will need to install the latest drivers of samsung device drivers. And then manually update device drivers from unknown device to adb sooner device. Then try flashing using odin.
