You get video from others, but it doesn't detect the camera. I was using Dolphin Browser HD.
and, can You chat normally? on (i don't know word for it) chat box (?), i mean can You write on it? And how about microphone? It detects sound, or not?
Just wasted half an hour on chatroulette. Wow what a sausage fest...not even a single chick...

I downloaded vTap and loaded it onto the latest HTC Official WM 6.1 ROM and it closes when you press the play button to start a movie.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
try soft reset after installing...u might have to take the Vtap icon off ur home screen also since it puts it there automatically after install/reset...
i installed it a week ago, ive reset many times since then and removed the today icon right away. There just isn't enough room on the today screen for all this stuff!
Anyways, it just crashes when the video starts to play (I don't get to see any video, it crashes right away)

I know this is specifically for vtap, but you can use other, more reliable, methods to watching youtube or any kind of flash video.
vtap was just too much. Quality wasn't that good either compared to tcpmp.

is there any application that works like vTap? Those 2 links are websites. I like programs more then websites for my Pocket PC because of the screen size and overall speed of programs is just faster then websites.
EDIT: The avot mv thing is an app, but its REALLY choppy and it doesn't preserve the aspect ratio (it stretches the video to fit in the screen), but im guessing the choppiness is thanks to those GREAT drivers from HTC.

the avot mv is a program u download to ur device from tht site its similar to Vtap (i like vTap better tho) and the tcpmp player and bundle are also on the other link so u can go directly to youtube and play from there...ur choice...
I have used TCMP w/ flash plugin and i have vTAP on my kiaser right now and it works great... no issues at all. I like its simplicity of use.
When I use Vtap, the quality of the video is really poor.. is it suppose to be like that?

vtap works, but "wasn't that good" is a vast understatement - I've never seen such pitiful resolution!

Hello. I work for Veveo Inc. who provide the vTap service. We have just released a new version of the client which should greatly improve the video quality when playing Youtube, or Metacafe videos.
You can download the latest client by pointing you browser to www.vtap.com and downloading the client.
Here are some details of what is fixed in this release:

Once you install the client, you will want to enable the DirectPlay option under Tools/Options/Media

Is there a thread somewhere with instructions on how to install and configure TCPMP with flash bundle? I have tried getting this working on my Tilt with no success.

We don't even have a working video camera yet, so this isn't very likely until some time much farther down the road, if ever.
im sorry to say, but there is a video camera app out there in beta stages(crappy but good) it has some errors and what not..
in order to make a web cam app you dont have to have a video camera app installed on the g1, video capturing image is already enabled on the phone, just someone has to make an app for it. to make a webcam app you would have to make your own video capturing system, or use an existing one if you code it right, some where some how some one will do it, just takes time :'(

Are you thinking you'd connect your phone to a PC and use it as a webcam? Surely we are not talking about using this on the phone, otherwise you'd have to turn the phone around every second to type, view the other persons video, etc...
That being said, the ADT Plugin For Eclipse adds Screenshot Capability to Eclipse... Might be some way to adapt that into a video feed? Although, this would then be more of a PC driver request than an Android app request...

This would be the purpose I would want to use it for. Granted webcams are cheap these days so i'm not sure it is really all that practical.

I am not high or abusing your eyes. Maybe you can read between the lines and use my example as you wish.
Or is there maybe no camera option on a Android phone ?? I don't know anything about googles attempt to make something for a pda/phone.

And there is a camcorder..but you cant stream it through MSN or Skype..which is what people are wanting to do.

tried it on the Tab (VegaN ROM) and wouldn't open. Doesn't mean that there's another way to load it. I'll keep trying as i'd love a good vid chat app.

I agree... I haven't found anything that works like Skype does on the computer. We used to use Skype on the Laptops a lot for video chats with family and when I am away from home on work. I was really hoping I could find a decent solution for the tablets, but nothing really works well. I thought Qik might have been the answer, but that doesn't work well either.

Qik works.. I have qik working on mine right now.. used it to chat between my cell and my tablet.
So does Yahoo Messenger w/ Video. I have it running on the TnT Lite 3.0.0 build right now.

Tango won't install for me on TnT Lite 3.0 or the previous version.
Yahoo Messenger w/ video chat works on mine running Vegan beta 3, but the webcam is sideways.

AFAIK, there is no fix for the sideways video. Qik and Yahoo runs on my tablet, but the video does not consistently run and connect. I need something that works like skype does on a laptop. Good audio, high quality video and works everytime. I travel for work weekly and spend nights out of the house. When we had the laptop we would use skype every night. Now with the tablets, there is no solution. Kinda sucks to keep a laptop around just for skype use. Oh well... bleeding edge.
Anyone tried Yahoo messenger, android-to-android? Does that have the sideways problem?

I was able to get this program on vegan 7. Currently doing IMs and VOIP.the video chat is blocked out on the program and in the programs settings. All this hype around Android made me buy a SGS. Having flash on the browser was one big reason for acquisition. Soon I discovered that flash isn't what is promised, a desktop experience on my mobile device. I say this because most of the time (like 95%) the flash works so bad in my browser, that is barely usable. When trying to watch streams, mostly on news sites I get a message with "The video is not optimized for mobile" and the playback is choppy, sometimes when seeking, takes 10-15 seconds until the choppy playback starts again. If I try to watch something in low quality it works fine, but most of the sites offer good quality video. I expect more from a 1Ghz cpu...
Is this a problem of my device or is it general ? I have the latest Adobe Flash available on the market.

Do some research... if you are using the Default browser, open it and in the address bar type:
about:debug
and hit go...
Now go into your browser settings and at the bottom there should be an option to set the UA String, select Desktop....
Downside:
some sites will still see your device as mobile.
you have to re do the fix Every time you load the browser...
Alternative:
try Dolphin HD broswer, it has a US string setting in the options already and only needs set once.
Downside:
Is a little slower to load pages than the default browser.

An another point, if you are using 3g... don't expect miracles!
sadly he's right ;( its not even working properly over wifi so i cant really say the net is the problem.
id say the problem lies in flash itself and/or its something in the memory management since ive seen stock roms delivering way better flashperformance than any custom so far, so possibility is that the stream freezes and has to rebuffer every time the memmngt cuts the memory, else you could just try to flash ubuntu and see if it works any magic ;P what do it know for all its worth it could be tha b0mb

Solution: Flash a custom JVK Gingerbread rom and DO NOT install the flash player from the market, but use the one that comes preinstalled! This way you'll have 720p flash videos playing smoothly.

I guess its rather a problem with some websites.
I never had problem with Flash player 10.1 or 10.2 (i am MIUI rom but i had previously JVK)
No problem with my SGS but i dont use flash that often so it could be as said some sites .
Use Dolphin HD browser mostly .

I have stock JS4 ROM, sorry forgot to mention this in the main thread. Also I am using flash only via Wifi. Actually I am using Opera Mobile and I've set the UA to Firefox Desktop one. Gonna try the idea with stock browser, maybe Opera has messed up something.
I've been looking throughout the forums and Google and haven't found anything definitive about a browser that will enable me to watch streaming video to my HD7. I'm pretty sure adobe will eventually come with a update so IE can support it but is there currently an app browser out that supports flash? Skyfire pansied out from what I hear and doesn't support any WinMo and uZard is only for 6.x. Am I stuck with YouTube app for now?
I think no one yet. I've already searched and we should wait adobe give us flash support. i think i was better with my WinMo6.1 device and uZard Web
uZard was at most ok for now, but I would have alot of issues with it accessing sites like Facebook and being the servers from my understanding, are located in Korea. So me located in Maine, my data speed suffered greatly. I couldn't stand the bug when I would close uZard without switching back to regular mode from landscape mode. Right now I've been using YouTube App and just downloading the videos and just watching them on the player, but sometime I hate to wait. Someone needs to stick a firework in Adobe's ass. They would be making so much money with flash support for WP7!!
I don't think it's all necessarily Adobe's fault. IE on WP7 doesn't support plug-iins yet. So maybe when Mango drops, people's prayers will be answered
I do think flash will never come to windows phone, because it is a security risk! And closed OS must have a lot of security.
