I personally like the design of the original cover due to the fact that i could put my index fingers on the ridge and use my phone.
Mugen cover:
People have been asking where to buy these covers. There were 15 of these sold on ebay but the seller ran out. I ordered mine from Mugen and it only took about a week and a half to recieve it. Mugen is based in Hong Kong.. I emailed Mugen directly and a rep assisted my through ordering the cases.
Go here: https://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/mugen-power-battery-backdoor.html
Battery model is HLI-X710AXL
Oorder number is 483107
Ignore the Please Note section.
Heres the case:
http://imgur.com/Q86F2
The battery life is up to almost a day and 12 hours now.
This also needs to be moved to accessories.
thank you for reviewing these extended battery cases.
i have bought the hyperion 1800mAh batteries a few months ago and they do a little better than the original battery, maybe an hour or two depending on the day but that is still significant improvement over what i was even getting (between 14-20 hours respectively).

I'm not seeing a pin hole to the left of the camera lens on the mugen battery cover, but the holes so small i may not be seeing it in the picture.
does the mugen cover have a pinhole to the left of the camera lens for the front microphone?
thanks.
update: order went thru with confirmation of shipping from mugen/hongkong. 2-3 guestimation. looking forward to it.
thanks for the info.
i went ahead and ordered one, after mailing mugen thru the support site with a similar response as you. no mention of order #, but just used the one you posted and ordered. made sure to specify BLACK for the color, so hopefully i shouldn't get the gray ones folks mentioned. will post back in a week or 2 when i get it.
UPDATE: received. so, yeah, got it, it looks sleek when installed on the phone. I haven't seen the other battery covers yet, but the clips on the mugen seem to be the same cheap plastic like the other covers. i could actually tell looking at the clips on one side of my cover that they would likely break, as the poured molding for the clips actually extend/have a lip out side the cover (only one side/set of clips had this issue). broke one on first removal.
also, if you request black, the cover will be the same charcoal grey that your factory metal cover is. as i said, it looks very nice installed, but just as likely to break as the cheap covers (which is why they're available separately).
also note; the microphone hole for the camera is covered by the cover. i do have a dremel tool, so I can remedy this if need be. i've never used the camera or the front mic to date tho, so i probably won't.
i'll be ordering some batteries in the near future, so i'll take many pics and see about providing dimensions for the covers, so maybe some manufacturer can come up with a case cover for the phones w/ extended batteries like so many other phones/htc devices have.
Im gonna be getting the Canadian/International version of this phone called the Raider and im into extended batteries cause I love having that extra juice. All you guys info has been helpful.
How did the cover that came with the BH39100 extended battery fit the phone?? Would be nice if i didnt have to buy the mugen cover on top of the battery.

I have it on my phone instead of the Mugen cover. It has a little ridge where i can put my fingers while texting. about a fingernail length of my finger fits on this ledge. I like this one better. Here's a pic of the back that came with : http://imgur.com/Yt9NL

Looks good. I've heard that the cases that come with cheap batteries break easy though so I'm probably gonna buy a couple of the mugen covers.

I'm on my second mugen cover. Dropped the phone (from about 2 feet) and the little clips broked both on one side, and also had trouble taking them out. My first cover came with a crack on the right side but they sent me a replacement. Now I put clear tape to hold the cover, but I really have to figure out something else. Any plastic cover isn't strong enough to hold. I'm in the middle of something involving an atf (I think that's how it's called), the one with the leather on the back from att. Already cut it out, and having a pretty thick back, the battery comes out just a little, under 2 mm without a cover of course. I'll post pics later after I'm done.

I put electric tape on the battery, couldn't find something thinner than that.

Did you order your covers from the company in Japan or did you get them off eBay?

I bought the case with the mugen battery about 3 months ago off a seller, I forgot the name on Amazon. I paid a little less than 90 bucks. Again, the first one came broken, I guess it happened during shipping, but they sent me a replacement, both the battery and the cover.

How did you get that case around it?? You cut the back of the case out and taped the battery instead of putting the case on?

I cut the back of the case to match the battery, on the left side close to the edge but on the right side at about 1/8 in from it, because the battery is smaller there.
Then I scotchtaped the battery to the inside of the case, is needed only for the left side (the side with the camera), the right side sticks in the slot. So the battery comes out in with the case together on that side, but I guess you could also tape it to the phone, probably the same thing. Also put electric tape on the back where the leather came off to match the rest.

That case that you have around the edges is nice. Thats not one that came with mugen cause I saw that one and its just as cheap as the others. oh well im gonna order my battery and put the case on and never take it off.
No, the case didn't come with the battery, I bought it from an AT$T store, the battery came only with the plastic cover. I'll give you a hint though, if you don't care for the mugen cover don't buy the battery from them. I know that I overpaid for it. You can buy a cheaper one for a fraction of that price because the performances are almost identical.

Any suggestions on what I should do with a white vivid? I cant find any white extended back covers and IDK how bad the black will look on it.
Thinking about ordering this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA07Y08T8104
Just trying to figure out how to make it look decent.
Could anyone link a white soft case I could cut out and make it work? Will any silicon case work?

EDIT (on 11-01-2010):
Just received the black version from case-mate. The reason for the case being 30$-ish, it includes a screen protector kit. I can defenitively tell that the black version looks slicker than the red one. But that's a mater of personal taste. I mean it's slicker in a way that it look like it's more *part* of the phone, meaning its less obvious that you have a case on it. Anyway that's my 2 cents

I have the red version (ordered on ebay) and it's really great, not too soft and harder in the back, I don't mind paying that much for a case, when I paid several hundreds for my phone.
I've got a red one on order... What do you think of it? I have seen a video review but it sucks...

I purchased the red pop case when i bought the phone and it was a nice case. Very sturdy but an extremely tight fit. So tight that when I tried to pry out my phone one day a small platic piece right under the micro usb cutout broke. The phone certainly pops out when you pullllllll it out. Either way iam dissapointed I wasted $35 bucs on that case but very content with my body glove snap case.
On a side note how efffed up is it that otterbox make a case the dell venue, which by the way hasnt had a wide release, and hasnt made one the the focus? Makes no sense...

How do you guys like the way the buttons stick up? Are you hitting them by accident? Does it help in preventing hitting the camera or power button by accident?
I bought the Red case-mate on Cyber Monday when they were 50% off from AT&T site. I couldn't resist taking advantage of this deal and I needed some decent protection for my Focus. Although I kinda like the case, I might get the Otterbox when it comes out . My setup right now is this case with a Zagg InvisibleShield. I use Cat Crap paste lens cleaner to keep the screen clean and slick. Any case you buy is going to be a balance of form, fit, function, and price.
Form - This is a area of taste for most and differs widely between people. In general, I'd say this case provides reasonable protection at a relatively slim design and light weight. It feels good in your hand and is attractive. Not being a big fan of colored cases, the red is actually attractive (can't believe I'm saying that). Had the black one been available at the time, I would have definitely gone with that one. But the red is masculine and I can live with it. Agree with cubanaso about the delicacy of the small plastic strip between microusb port and front of phone (screen). This went under extreme stress when I put the phone in and I thought I was going to break it (most likely because I didn't put it in the best way). Thankfully it flexed but didn't break. My suggestion would be to pay the most attention to this area when installing phone. Because of the shape of the phone, the natural instinct is to put the bottom side in the case first. Might want to try putting the top side in first and flex the bottom instead .
Fit - snug fit and definitely isn't going anywhere. Feels like a part of the phone. I actually removed it to instal microusb card, then put it back it. It is a challenge, but not impossible. Like I stated before, you have to be super sensitive to the case's thin plastic strip near microusb port. Overall fit is excellent if you don't plan on taking it on and off.
Function - I've actually dropped it from about 5 feet and it was fine. No damage to case of phone. I'd say the protection level is above average but not Otterbox Defender level. It is probably comparable to the Otterbox commuter series. Minor scratches to back of phone, but still looks relatively new after a month. As far as the buttons go, the case-mate setup actually works quite well. The protrude just the right amount to where you know where they are without having to look at the phone. I can feel the correct orientation of my phone and upright it without looking at it. Big plus. But they take just enough intentional push to where I have yet to accidentally turn off the phone. Not even once. The execution of the buttons (and the side grip as a whole) is probably the biggest plus of the case-mate Pop! Case. Who knows, if Otterbox takes to long, I just may stick with the Pop! Case. I'm not a huge fan of a Red case (by any manufacturer), but this one is actually a good one and is starting to grow on me.
Price - As of right now, I wouldn't pay retail for this case. There was a time when this was the only decent case imo and it was only offered on AT&T site. This is not the situation anymore. Here is another site where it is discounted:

In the process of taking a picture of the sd card for another thread here on the focus site under general, I took off the case to get to the memory card.
When I was putting the Case Mate back on, one end of the thin part broke. This is definitely a weak spot in the design.
Did you remove it (the red strip) completely, and if so did you cut away the rubber gasket or leave that?

i left the rubber there. The thin red strip makes it so hard to remove the case but without it, the rubber there can expand for easy removal.

just the USPS one (the cheapest), got it within about 5-6 business days (I'm in Montreal)
Today I took receipt of a grey Aluminium Bumper for the GT-N7100 Galaxy Note.
I bought them from eBay for about £14 from a UK seller, there are cheaper ones from China but I thought getting one from the UK would be quicker to get a hold of, in terms of delivery.
This is the first bumper like this I've ever owned, I had heard stories of people scratching their devices whilst installing the phone into these things, but I had no such issue. There wasn't a mark on the protector caused by the installation and, considering the screen protector is going to be much softer than the glass, thus easier to damage, so if there was going to be any damage, you'd see it on that.
On the note of installation, it was quick and easy. The phone sits nicely inside, there isn't any play as such but, when you "try" to move it around you can feel movement, but I think this is something of a good thing, for absorption purposes in case of a fall.
What I was surprised about, was the fact the back of the case sits almost flush with the back of the phone itself, offering no (extra) protection for the camera when you put it backside down, this fortunately is not the case for the front, the case adds about a 2mm edge to the screen, and so does get protection when you place it screen down on a table etc...
You can see that it comes well packaged, perhaps not as well as the Nillkin case I reviewed last month, but better than just being loose in an envelope.

There are pads on the inside of the case that the phone actually sits on (not on the bare metal itself.)
To use the buttons on the phone, it has it's own raised buttons on the case, they work really well and are quite rigid.
It's very precisely cut, the mic holes are correct and inline.
And the original Samsung cable fits just fine too.
All-in-all I'm quite impressed, I don't think It's worth the £14 I paid, but It's the just one of the cons of wanting it quick, as opposed to waiting for a delivery from China.
Also, to dispel any reports/myths, that it out makes the signal worse, the phone and other internal radios haven't been affected by the case in anyway.
There are plenty of sellers on eBay selling them for you to buy from, but here is the seller I bought mine from http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281008440...eName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Update:
Due to the concerns I have about damage to the camera lens that this and, other cases that don't fully surround the phone don't protect against, when placed on a table for example, I have simply cut a piece of a screen protector, from a protector for a phone I no longer own, and placed it over the lens.
This has not affected image quality, or affected the way the auto focus works or the speed off it in anyway. With this in place, I am no longer worried about minor scratches that could be caused by putting the phone down on a desk/table. In my opinion, this is a suitable solution not just for this case, but just to have in general, regardless of what case (if any at all) you choose to use
I really like the looks of this case!
How close is the fit? Does the phone wiggle around at all inside the bumper?

I did mention movement in the review
"The phone sits nicely inside, there isn't any play as such but, when you "try" to move it around you can feel movement, but I think this is something of a good thing, for absorption purposes in case of a fall. "
But to elaborate on it more, it fits tightly and there isn't any movement but, If you try to force movement you can tell that there is a bit of give, probably from the pads compressing. It's nothing bad and is probably good that it happens the way it does.
Ah, my brain skipped over that for some reason, sorry!
I noticed in the pictures and video that the pads don't seem to cover the entire inside. The corners are exposed, and I am worried about the phone contacting the unpadded parts when dropped. Also, it looks like the rear shots of the case show light between the bumper and sides of the phone.
Extra padding isn't hard to add, so I may give this a try.

Ahh, I know what you mean now. It'll be real easy to add some extra padding if needed, you'd just need to get some self adhesive foam and stick it where you want it.
Can you give a quick mention on the sliding cover peice, does it rub the edges of the screen? Someone said somewhere that the screen rubs on the peice that you slide back on to cover the top.

Ok, now comes the question, since I'm looking at this and the hard case you reviewed, which do you prefer using as your daily case? Love the look of the aluminium bumper, but the back not being as protective as the front is what makes me dislike it...
Thanks.

Well, I think I'm actually leaning towards the bumper I have a protector on the screen, and the back plate can be replaced if it gets mega scratched etc... I think the bumper just looks so much cooler than anything I've had before.
I have got a fully covering leather case for full protection when I know I'm going to be somewhere that I could cause some real damage if I dropped it, like when going out walking etc... but day-to-day the bumper is the route "I'd" take.

OMG thanks for the review!! ive been wanting one of these but havent found a good review for it online! you mentioned that this particular case doesnt offer protection for the camera since it is flush with the device. However on amazon i found this one:
http://www.amazon.com/ZuGadgets-Alu...391&sr=8-7&keywords=galaxy+note+2+bumper+case
it looks identical to the case you have, but in the pictures, it shows that the case is elevated slightly from the phone itself. do you think this could be different from the one you have?
thanks!
Good review
but I'm wondering whether this aluminium kind of bumper blocks the GPS signal or not when the phone is used as Navigation. Pls try to use the bumper and turn the GPS on. . Will there be any problem? thanx
There was another review on here regarding a metal bumper and according to him it did not affect the gps but it did affect the nfc..

This does not impact GPS/NFC. I have noticed roughly a one bar drop in cell signal but that's it. I've had mine for almost a month and no issues.

OMG thanks for the review!! ive been wanting one of these but havent found a good review for it online! you mentioned that this particular case doesnt offer protection for the camera since it is flush with the device. However on amazon i found this one:
http://www.amazon.com/ZuGadgets-Alu...391&sr=8-7&keywords=galaxy+note+2+bumper+case
it looks identical to the case you have, but in the pictures, it shows that the case is elevated slightly from the phone itself. do you think this could be different from the one you have?
thanks!

It's just the camera angle, if I take a picture at the same angle, it will give the same illusion.
And regarding GPS signal, the case "does" affect it. I've been meaning to make a video showing exactly what happens, I'll try and make and upload one tomorrow.

Anyone find one similar to the element case for iphone and Galaxy S3. I like bumper cases but the idea of a snap together 2 piece one does not seem secure enough to me. The screw together case seems like it would be much better.
I ordered this exact case on Friday. Should be here this week.

Too bad, otherwise it would be a great bumper case.
Hey
I am just about to get a Note II, so I already bought accesories for it.
Today the "original" flipcover shipped.
So it kinda irritated me when the box was all in chinese but didn't really care for it until I checked the quality of the cover.
So see yourself for the build quality of this one, sharp and "dirty cut" edges, not really smooth, kinda grungy all over.
The typography is sometimes not even filled correctly, so you can see white spots within the letters (as if there was not enough color used to print the typo).
So anyone having the original, could check if this one is fake, as I don't really believe in it being just a "chinese original".
Such crappy build quality from an original Samsung accessory which usually retails at 34,99€ at Samsung? I don't think so...

The lettering and earpiece look terrible to me in your pictures, like its been used or chewed on
It seems as though the NFC antenna has been removed and replaced before since you can see the creases in the top right corner of the antenna. Also, the plastic molding where the flap on the left side connects to the battery door is different... similar, but different. It may be a different batch and/or a returned product (I see tons of use blemishes), but I say it's a good knock off.
The four flip covers I own all came in perfect condition with perfectly cut earpiece and perfect lettering. They also had the same exact mold lines on the inside of the battery door.
Here you can see the NFC antenna looks different and has a smooth surface, not wavy or bumpy like in your picture, and you can see the plastic mold lines are different then yours where the cover connects to the door.
Here you can see that the ear cutout is precise and the lettering isn't faded at all.
More pictures
How much did you buy it for?

Unfortunately I have to agree with Randpost. It's definitely fake. I have the OEM white cover direct from Samsungs website and mine looks exactly like randposts with a weaves pattern in the material and the NFC antenna isn't like your picture. It's a good knockoff though. How much did you pay?

I paid 17€ for it, has been advertised as "original".
So I sent a complaint to the seller and have been refunded all my money, so basically he even offered for me to go to a retail store and send him the invoice, so he will pay the retail price since he said he offered it as original.
But the fake flipcover is still for sell as original, so I don't know if he just tried to satisfy me because he's afraid I could report this to eBay.
But now I ordered an original one directly from amazon for most likeley the same price, but with amazon I am on the safe side.
I don't know what to do with the fake cover tho, since the seller told me to send it back, so I either report it to eBay or send it back to him.
As my Note II has been shipped today, I hope I will have it with me on monday, can't wait as I'm using some old samsung E1170 right now, gave away my nexus 4 to my wife :highfive:
It looks like a real one that just didn't get past the inspection line. At least you don't pay $40. If it is a fake it's a great fake. Most fake ones don't have the nfc chip or the indentation for the home button. I have a fake white one and yours looks alot better. I only paid $4 so that's probably why.
Sent from my Amazing Galaxy Note 2!
looking at the photo's it's a fake, just looking at the speaker hole, you see it's fake.
No way that is real cover from Samsung, or a defected one.. The jagged edges alone is the red flag but also look how the letters don't run parallel with the bottom of the cover. My white one looks much better built Imo.
At least the seller is being very respectful and giving you no problems. I would report him to ebay as he/she is selling falsely advertised items.. I wish the "gold"batteries would get yanked off as well.
I got the same case from eBay, only without the NFC contacts, which was my first clue it was fake, but otherwise it was pretty hard to tell. The seller refunded me and said to keep the case. It is amazing how fast Chinese counterfeits come out for popular products, but I guess it's logical, since most of the originals are also made in China (maybe even in the same factory). Usually there's a way to distinguish, especially if you have an original to compare it to, like a slight difference in font size, missing NFC, etc.

In most cases yes, you are correct, but for samsung product, optional accessories are usually made in korea, with the exception of batteries and power accessories.
From what I gathered, all original S3 and note 2 flip covers are all made in korea.
FAKE
I can easily tell by the sub-par plastic in the packaging. Samsung uses a much more rigid plastic and the materials inside do nothing for the structure (they are just a facade)
It's a knock-off and not a very good one. Look at the shape of the "v" around the speaker on yours and how different it is from the real one.
I bought a $9 imitation flip case from eBay and wasn't expecting too much. Was pleasantly surprised when it was nicely packaged, fit was perfect and the feel and material was very good. On closer inspection, the A in the logo is not as sharp as the original and the plastic is slightly thicker than the original as well.
I've used it now for more than a week and it's slightly scuffed though wear but still holding up well. The NFC works well and I'd recommend it.
Have attached pics and comparison with my original back cover, apologies for the low quality.

It's ended now, but here's something similar: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/200859431390
Just got one of these CHEAP, but GREAT slim cases for the N7. I wasn't looking for a case, but when I saw AndroidPolice review it, I jumped on it because of the price really lol.
My take: It's awesome for $4USD plus shipping. Now Amazon is selling it for $5USD plus shipping ($3 in the US). So basically now for $8 bux, this case with free stylus/pen is shipped to you from the USA (for US peeps that's awesome not waiting a week or more for deliveries from overseas).
I have used it for a day and with my 4 year old last night. She found it ok, but she liked the prop up stand on the Seidio Active case better, even though the Seidio made the N7 a bit heavier than I would liked. Don't get me wrong, I still love the Seidio case, just for not everyday use. I intend to use the Seidio for travel.
As for this Ultra slim case, it is true to it's listing. Coming from a bit bulky Seidio case to this is night and day. Yes you don't get the same protection, but the slimness cannot be ignored. Mine is white, well off white, more like French Vanilla ice cream lol. So if you get a white backing or front face, it will NOT match. What you see on the Amazon and Android Police review is what you get. It's true to the pic.
All the holes line up perfect, but also has a hole in the back as well for no reason at all lol. I think the design was for something else but was scrapped. Maybe it was for another device and they changed the design to fit the N7. Maybe it was meant for the ipad mini? Dunno. That whole in the back has no real use. Other than that, all the openings and cutouts are fine. The speaker cutout is perfect and the case flips open without an issue and the bonus, a magnet in this slim thing. I like it that you can't see it in this case. There is only one way to flip the case to have it stand, but you can manipulate it to prop it up to type down as well if you play with the folds a bit.
And to the fold/front flap, this is just like all the slim type cases out there. It will protrude a bit at first, but upon more usage, the bend should subside. There is also a stylus holder on the back. I personally don't use styluses but its there if you need to use it with the free stylus they give you.
My ONLY con is to this case is that when I first got the case, after cleaning the N7 and installing it into the case, it didn't catch in all the corners. Because of that, the front flap wouldn't close. I thought to myself, crap, I have to get a replacement? But I didn't give up on the case lol.
I made it fit lol. The reason why it didn't fit is because of the felt lining in the back where it houses the N7. The backing overlapped one of the ridges where the tablet snaps into the corner and because of that it didn't sit and line up. What I did was snapped 3 of the 4 corners and when I came to the one that wouldn't snap, I used the front flap to gently push down in the corner to snap into place. Now it's held in there real tight and flush. It's not going anywhere. Now YMMV because the felt lining may not be an issue for you or the lining could totally messed up the corner. But for me, this quick trick worked.
As for pics, let me know if you want them but the pics listed in Amazon and Android Police link below has all the pics you really need. :good: It comes in a few colors. As of now (3/26/13), the available colors is the white, blue and grey. At the time of ordering, there was purple IIRC, but I my second choice would have been the grey one. .

question. Does the front flap auto turn the tablet on and off? and does it have a magnetic strip or something that holds the front flap shut so it doesnt open when turned upside down etc?
Looks quite nice. If anything happens to my poetic case I'll be sure pick this one up.

Yes the front flap does. Sorry I did mention it did have a magnet/magnet strip, but failed to state that the magnet works in that way. But it does NOT have anything to keep the cover shut. There is no catch at all. You can use a rubber band if you want, but not really needed in my case. I carry my stuff in a powerbag messenger bag.
I saw this case on Android Police as well and really liked the look of it, though at the time it wasn't shipping to Canada at all. Took another look, and it is now! Sadly though I paid more in shipping than I did for the case, but it's the first case I've seen that I actually like the look of so $15 is a small price to pay! I got mine in blue.
That sucks for the shipping to Canada!!
As for the "hole" in the back. I read that it's used for assisting to grip the tablet, which I can see, I guess lol.
Don't know which N7 you have, but would you happen to know if the mic holes are clear for a 3G nexus? One hole is an inch above the power button, the other us just about halfway down the left side, if you count the dots from the corner it's between the 23rd and 24th one, or between the 12th and 13th one up from the last dock pin.

Great question! I have the first gen wifi only N7 so I cannot absolutely say, but I took pics to explain if it works or not. Based on what you said, the mic hole looks like it will be covered above the power button, but the pogo side is pretty much free and clear. Again please take a look at the pics, they would most likely answer your question.

Thanks for the PSA. That looks nice and the price is good.
Do you think it could be used with a dock? Maybe not the official dock, but a DIY that uses the pogo contacts. Or do I worry needlessly about wear and tear on the micro USB port, and I should just prop open the case and plug/unplug the factory charger as needed.
The only thing I worry about the design is the side that rests on the table when it's open is the side that touches the screen when it's closed, and the tables at coffee shops aren't always clean. Maybe I'm worrying needlessly again.

I have been using the USB port since I got my N7 back in July (wow it's almost a year?! lol) and no issues with the USB port for me. And I religiously charge my stuffs when I can get to a charger lol.
As for using a DIY pogo dock, I guess you can if you have the pogo receptors in the dock that can protrude out and act like a plug to the pogo on the N7. But I guess you can try it out lol. You don't need to prop open the case to charge. There's openings where it needs to be.

For those situations, and if you frequent areas like that, your better bet is the Seidio Active case where you can just wipe off and not worry about stains (on the black version anyways lol). Or even a cheaper tpu alternative.

Well for black CF, you should go pink all the way.
Seriously, for black CF, I would go grey (when they are in stock again) or even blue. They do have black as well if you want to go with the easy route but again, not in stock yet.
Well the french vanilla white would be ok as well. For me and the CF, I'd go black or grey.
EDIT: One thing though DTJB. Because you are getting the CF back and Front as well I am guessing, this case may not fit. The case just fits as it is and if you are adding the dbrand back, it may be too thick, believe it or not. Sorry man.

I read somewhere that while the magnet on this case successfully unlocks the screen when you open it, it will also lock the screen on you when you fold the cover around behind the tablet to hold it in one hand. Can you comment on this issue?

I have heard of this as well, but that was the first thing I had tried and no, it never happened to me and I have tried to purposely do it with the flap back.
Great, glad to hear it.
The other question I have: several people on Amazon reviews mentioned a similar problem to what you described about the case being tight and having to force it in to get it to snap into place. A few of them went so far as to say it was so tight that they noticed discoloration and/or backlight issues with the tablet display in the corner in question, due to the physical stress imposed by the case.
Have you experienced any such concerns?
Thanks.

i bought the same one, but in red. only the black one seems to have the antenna cut out. the rest don't (at least not from the pictures). mine should be here in two weeks...but i imagine theyll have the same issues as the genuine draco has that people complain about in the draco thread.
I bought a red one too. It fits fine, no signal lost or anything. I just stop using mine because im using a zl battery with a modified defender case now, otherwise id still be rocking it.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
I actually bought the red one too. It should be here in about 10 days. The pictures from the ebay vendor I purchased from appear to show the antenna cutout on all of the colors.
My only concern is if it will have enough lip to keep the back and screen from touching surfaces when laying flat. As long as it does that, I'll be happy. I currently have a tech21 imapactolgy tpu case on my note2 and although it's slim, it still covers too much of my awesome looking phone. I just wrapped my phone in a full body zagg competitor so my only concern now is edge protection (and at least some lip).
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
If signal drop-off isn't an issue then the next main issue with most of the knockoff bumbers is the headphone cut-out.
If you listen to a lot of music and want to use better headphones than the original ones, it won't fit. The cut-out is way too small. No one seems to mention that. I bought a few cheap bumpers and an expensive one (after readign reviews in another post here) and all of them had the headphone cut-out issue.
Can you link to the bumper you bought on eBay?
Sent from my SGH-I317 using xda premium
The cut off for head phone jack fits fine, not a whole lot of room but it will work. It also have a lip around both the back and front so if you lay your phone on a flat surface the bunper will protect it from touching the flat surface.

Just ordered one to try vs the Ringke Slim I have on there now. I love the slim except for when I drop the phone, the case pops off and the phone gets damaged anyway.
just got mine. looks pretty solid. there is NO antenna cut out, so it's perfect.
the only problem i had was the case came assembled, and the hex screws holding them in are screwed in super tight. i had to run to home depot and get a hex screwdriver that gave me more torque to turn it. but got it on the phone and it looks really good.
another issue is that the lip on the back is not high enough, so it seems that my camera is touching the surface of the table instead of the case

If it is not to much trouble can you post some pictures?

Did you buy yours from casefanatic? Or from an eBay seller? On the off chance that there are some with the cutout and others without, I can update the OP with links for known good cases.

i'll try to post some pictures tomorrow.
after using it for a few hours, im definitely more scared of dropping the phone since its thinner and more slippery than my previous rubber case; im much more careful with the phone in my hands now.
it fits pretty well; the part where the two parts are screwed together dont fit perfectly though. there's a slight mismatch. but for $15, its fine to me. and i can see how some people will say the edges are sharp. my gf says its sharp and could cause papercut type of cuts, but i dont really see a problem with it.
also, i have no signal drop at all.

i've actually been noticing that ive been getting BETTER reception after putting this bumper on, which is kind of weird. i was expecting to lose at least 1 bar. maybe t-mobile is making some changes or something to their network though.
I wish I have seen this thread before I bought mine last night. I paid $2 more from a different ebay seller. The picture looks pretty much the same. I got the the grey one to go with my grey Note II.
I noticed that the pictures of the frame posted above is so much better than the ones with the phone + frame. I guess the ones with frame alone were taken with the Note II!
Will this bumper fit into any belt clips? Maybe a seidio surface clip?
