im not sure how to tell which recovery files i need on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932196 , i live in the usa and im usen my phone on straight talk which runs on AT&T's towers
Firmware Configuration ver:
GAS_ASIA_USAMS1FRYORTSEA_P013
don't you have the motorola droid in the usa?
I believe that Droid trademark was only licensed to Verizon. CDMA phones, which all have unlocked bootloader (A854) were also sold as Milestones by other carriers.
This subforum is dedicated to GSM version of Milestone (A853), which has locked bootloader, thus all firmwares are sort of Frankenstein with bits'n'pieces of the original firmware (stock kernels and recoveries must be used).

Hi,
I flashed my droid 3 with the current CM10.1 ROM and it's working... Except for the SIM card.
It's plain not recognizing the sim. No calls, no SMS, no data.
I couldn't find anywhere how to fix nor even how to debug it.
I'm pretty new to android flashing but have extensive experience as Linux sysadmin (15+ years), so any hint about how to debug it would be very welcomed.
Any hints?
( Ahh, I'm in Brazil, using GSM)
Thanks in advance,
Leon
Hi,
Try to find the library libmoto_ril.so from the stock rom at /system/lib, and replace it. You should get signal, but until now, I'm not aware of anyone that made 3g work on JB Roms with GSM networks.
Also replace the line:
ro.telephony.default_network=3
On the default build.prop it is 7 (for CDMA).
Hope this helps.

Hey, I am having the same problem on my droid 3 cm 10.1 installation. I live in Australia and my droid 3 is a Verizon one. I did what you said and then it doesnt boot but stays stuck on the loading screen. I even tried Hashcode's GSM patch and still remains stuck. Any Ideas.

CDMA network is not working
Hi guys,
I recently purchased unlocked Motorola Droid 3 Verizon. But on this phone CDMA sim does not work, GSM working correctly. I need solution....
Hi everyone, I've been a following XDA for a while i've unlocked, rooted, flashed roms, etc., many times,
But this time i am not sure how to proceed. [I'm also a beginner... but I'm looking forward to contribute in the near future]
You see, I bought a Brand New Sprint Moto X , never been activated on any carrier, it arriving on Monday tops.
I already know how to unlock it, root it, and flash a custom rom.
but want to be able to unlock the gsm capabilities of the phone to use internationally, i know sprint offers this service but i don't qualify because i need to be 3 months in service whit them.
on the other hand i read in the General Section , in the model description:
XT1049 - Republic Wireless
XT1052 - European - Sim ?
XT1053 -T-Mobile US, Dev Ed
XT1055 - US Cellular - Sim ?
XT1056 - Sprint - Sim Unlocked
XT1058 - AT&T, Rogers, Claro, Movistar, Vivo, Oi, TIM - Sim Unlocked
XT1060 - Verizon - Sim Locked
What does it mean being "Sim Unlocked"
While i be able to use it on A GSM service (Mexico)
if not, could a posible solution be flashing the SFB for Telcel to my Sprint phone?
or will i just hard brick it?
Thank you very much for your attention.
Eddie
Didn't know the XT1053 was the Developer Edition, that's cool to know.
I'll be pending to this post.
Best

Sorry it won't work...at least not yet. But it appears you already found the relevant thread on SIM-Unlock for Sprint Moto X.

Its been tried. Flashing the SBF itself will work, but the phone will still be sim-locked and unusable on GSM.
Thank you!!

I understand now, reading a lot on the other threads and in other sites it now undrstand that sim unlock cannot be done unless i have service for 3 months or a fix comes [hopefully soon].
thank you.
just before we close this thread..
what if i flash an SFB of a CDMA carrier here, will it work? or will i have to reprogram the phone [ using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/guide-flash-sprint-moto-x-to-page-plus-t2732342 but using my cdma carrier PRL) ????
is this the right place to post this last question?
sorry, and thanks again.

Eddie,
Yes, you will need to follow the instructions in the "Flash Sprint Moto X to Page Plus" thread. You will need to change some of the steps as appropriate to YOUR carrier you are flashing to since not all steps will be the same as flashing to "Page Plus". Flashing a CDMA Rom will not work. AFAIK, the only other CDMA ROM available is the Verizon one which prevents you from being able to flash to another carrier. Does anyone know of any others?
Good Luck

I recently acquired a Motorola Droid Bionic from a relative. Their contract ran up and they've upgraded to a Galaxy S4. They are on Verizon and I am on AT&T. I have searched for a way to unlock the SIM so that I can use the phone with an AT&T SIM card. Could someone explain to me how to do this and what I would be losing and gaining by doing this. I am running 4.1.2 and have read that unlocking on Jelly Bean won't work correctly. Please help. Thank you.

That thread contains all of the best information including a link to an updated guide for doing the necessary modifications.
You can get H+ on ATT using the Bionic but not LTE and the radio performance can be sub optimal depending on where you are located.
I suggest you read the last few pages and decide if you want to do the work required which involves several procedures including rooting and editing the NVM with RadioComm.
It all works but none of it can be characterized as simple. Good luck!
Hello I have a verizon note 4 and am using it on tmobile my question is this, Now that the 910v can be rooted what happens if I root it and download a tmobile rom and install it on the phone? Will it work or will it brick the phone? I have no idea if there is any real difference between the verizon note and the tmobile note besides the carrier. Any input would be appreciated as I cant stand the verizon bloatware and would love to have my tmobile stuff back
thanks in advance
As far I know not possible
Tmobile is GSM model and verizon is CDMA frequency bands different.
I did something similar with AT&T G2 and loaded a Tmobile ROM on it. First you need root and TWRP or equivalent. and then some developer have to created a modified bootstack that are tailored for your phone model to work with the rom. Once you load the bootstack, then you load the rom without the radio. Not for the faint of heart.
