I can not get to phone its stuck on loading screen. I want to do hard reset but my volume rocker is dead (only the volume up is working)

I had the same problem when i tried it the first time!
Try to Soft reset the device and go to the RGB info screen (where you can see the Boot loader version ect.) then hold the center button and volume down and reset the device again. Then it should work!
btw make sure to press the buttons long enough, you need to press it for at least 10 seconds until it has loaded everything for the HR
Actually what needs to be, this is after trying for almost half hour - down volume, center key and Power (not reset). But has Xui said you need to hold it until you get the screen advising you are about to Hard Reset the device.
BTW Mods, can someone update the Diamond Wiki with this info, I da** near broke by buttons thinkink I was not pressing hard enough. When in actuality I should have press the power and not the SoftReset.
This is what I did:
My touch screen doesn't work.
So I have to hard reset the thing.
Hold the power button to turn off the phone completely
Then hold vol down, center key, power button, around 5-6 seconds,
then you see the boot screen.

I just get this Diamond from a friend who tried to unlock it, without success. Now phone is really dead, no power ON, no bootmode (down volume + power or down volume + reset), nothing
Is there a way to restore this phone?

then reflash?
tryed holding the buttons and it didnt do anything.
He's advising that you hard reset. That's what I'd do, too, but if it continues to hang, flash a stock rom. You may need to go into bootloader manually if you do it over usb.
Fixed it please delete.
hard rest verizon phones
i think that verizon has ****ed the customers when i comes to hard resetting i think that they disable the option when you are try to do it with the whole volume button power button the reset thing i have gone through two phones because of this but now i found program that was leaked and it does it for me you go into that mode where you get that multiple colored screen and then once you plug you phone into your computer and then you run it and it hard resets the phone
that would be great if you can share how do you it with us, so any body have this problem can be fixed without asking too much.
Here's the problem with my HTC HD7, I have used it for sometime and today I did a reset going to settings->about->reset. The phone came back straight to the home(tiles) screen without starting through the Windows setup screens. It then restarted by itself and after that it is pulling back all of my old contacts, old messages & mails. I also did a factory reset using the Volume Up/down & power buttons but the same story.
Anyone think of what's going on? do you think the internal memory corruption or something?

Resetting using the hardware buttons
You can also use the buttons to perform a hard reset. This comes in handy if the screen is frozen and you can’t access the phone.
1. Turn the phone off. If it’s frozen or unresponsive, pull then replace the battery.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons and power the phone back on.
3. Continue to hold Volume Up and Volume Down until a factory reset screen appears.

I am having problem with my Volume Down key.
When the phone is ON, the volume down is not working. I can use the volume rocker to get volume UP. But when I press down, though I can feel that DOWN is being pressed, the volume does not turn low. I have to turn the volume low using the slider on the screen.
Also when I restart my phone it goes directly to Fastboot, showing reason for fastboot : Volume down key pressed.
(I would like to add that the volume is not automatically turning down in my phone when it is ON)
I feel its a software issue rather than hardware, however, i am not sure.
Please help.
Also I cannot do factory reset as when the phone restarts it goes to Fastboot. If I choose Recovery in Fastboot and go to the next screen where I have to choose WIPE DATA,/FACTORY RESET, i cannot scroll down to that using volume down, as it does not work.

That sounds like a hardware issue rather than software, seeing as your phone boots in fastboot, indicating that it thinks volume down is pressed even before the phone boots. I'd look into just using your warranty.

99.99999% hardwares defect!! Tried to take out the volume rocker n put it back?! Fastboot is like your device's bootloader... No software runs at that point...
