Hi, I have a Norwegian p1000 with cmda and have done the re-stocking, and tried to install update-cm-9-20120606-NIGHTLY-p1c-signed.zip, but get the Status 7 error.
I also had a problem following the howto-install-list. Everything went fine until install any kernel from humberos... when i did that, the screen was black. Flashed it back to overcome.
Then i saw someone said skip that...
And other howto's say nothing about humberos kernel... so i tried with the ocercome from the re-stock howto..
I have read some posts, and see some possible solutions.
I've tried the mount /efs via ADB, but it did not work. I got it mounted, but i get the same error!
I saw the tip about removing the assert function, but now i just have to ask if i have done everything right, or if there is something else i need to do...
If yours is p1000(GSM) then don't get the p1c (cdma).
Grab the p1 build.

Well, actually, maybe i think wrong. GSM is to me slow networks, cdma is faster...
But what we have in norway derives from GSM, and is called UMTS or WCDMA... So, if that means i need GSM, please tell me!
Thanks for you answers!
yes, that was what I said.
Yours is GSM. CDMA is a different technology.
WCDMA is not the same as CDMA.
You need the p1 build. It is for P1000 tab.
---------- Post added at 09:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:43 AM ----------
forgot to add, you don't need to flash extra kernel on top of it.
The p1 build will be right.
FYI, there are p1, p1n, p1l and p1c, if I am not mistaken.
The L/N are all GSM and more similar to P1 but need its specific kernel for the touchscreen. Usually sold in Latin America.

I have just purchased Verizon Galaxy TAB CDMA.
I am planning to use it in Wifi only mode and am not planning to subscribe to Verizon service.
Questions: Can I install GSM or Sprint CDMA ROMS or I should look for Verizon CDMA ROMS only? Can anyone recommend one?
Can someone reply please? I don't see this asnwered.
As far as I know it is possible. You just need to compile a special kernel, which I have no knowledge on how to do. Search the forumz. I know that there is information on how to instal a gsm rom on a verizon tab. Maybe that guy can help you.
Hit the thanks button if I have helped.

First things first, have a little patience when asking questions, this forum isn't nearly as active as some of the others, and questions don't get immediately answered.
Second, you *WILL* brick your device if you install a GSM kernel on your CDMA device. The kernel is what supports the ROM and talks directly to your hardware. Obviously, the hardware on a CDMA device varies from a GSM device. If a kernel can be compiled to interact properly with an already built GSM ROM, than yes, in theory it does work (as can be seen with the Honeycomb port. The ROM port is built for CDMA, and a kernel was built to interact with that and the GSM device properly)

hi
is it possible to write to sch-i800 european language pack?
The first week I had the phone i flashed it using an Optimus 3D KDZ file. now that i am trying to use LG Thrill Roms the radio doesnt match and thus i only get one bar of service and continously drop to edge
Is there any way to create a KDZ file for the LG Thrill from the system dump?
Is there any way to flash radios on LG androids (I only have experience with Samsung and HTC radio flashing)?
Is there a way to flash the deafult radio from the system dump?
I haven't seen anyone do this yet. That's why I am still on the stock ROM. Keep your eyes on the dev forum, when its figured out that's where it will be.
I think once the Gingerbread update hits we'll see an explosion of ROMs compatible with the AT&T bands.

You're the man, I'm trying this right now.
Update: Loaded just fine (failed at 22%). After first boot it recognized it as a P925 even with the GB rom istalled, of course no signal. Loading stock Thrill rom now to test.
Hi everyone, I have a Korean-type Galaxy S phone here that I want upgraded to at least gingerbread. However, the only problem is I can't seem to find a firmware list ANYWHERE i look. I've googled it, I've looked for threads here on XDA, and I've also checked other websites and I still can't find anything. Please point me in the right direction, or give me any information or advice. Thanks!

Really?
200+ views with not a single reply... At least a "Dude, you can't upgrade that phone." is fine... -_-

It's my understanding that you would need to update the build.prop file after you flash a new rom.
The following link should help if you want to upgrade to CM9.

That build.prop will work for AT&T as well as the two companies use most of the same frequencies. I've heard a report of 3G service being received via an AT&T SIM using this but haven't tested myself as i am awaiting my SIM from AT&T. I'll update this post with a link to the thread i found the report in. Different build.prop but only in terms of ROM and locale.
Edit: It's the 4th post on the page and if you keep reading through that thread you'll find more reports of AT&T use and some more of 3G capability when using AT&T SIMs.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406812&page=4
I'm currently using an unlocked Droid 3 on AT&T. I'm using the $10 basic phone unlimited plan.
In order to use the device on AT&T, you must flash the XT883 radio and build.prop for the device to run on the network. You will get 3G speeds.
Follow the guide provided but use thesefiles

Can someone please, for the newbs out there, link to or send me some detailed instructions on how to get a USA Verizon XT862 into the correct state to use with an AT&T sim card?
My D3 is rooted but some of the other instructions are all over the place in this thread. I have two D3s I want to move to AT&T. Something nicely worded for idiots with links to what you need and how to use them.
Plowing through 30+ pages to find the right answers is just not fun and then as I said, there is some competing instructions that say use radio X over radio file Y or change it yourself, blah, blah..
anyone?

I know there is a huge thread on it, as I know someone will post it again but the information is just so convoluted I'm not even sure it can still work. Seeing stuff now about stock .906 roms not working and what not.
Really like this phone and don't want to purchase something new just to use if I don't have to.
my current build is 5.7.906.xt862.verizon.en.us

Sorry, last question
If I go ahead and get my phone unlocked, will that mess up anything else on the phone since I'm still on Verizon?
The problem: Xperia T prototype (0044 IMEI) will not run stable on most stock firmwares. WIFI only works with the ICS stock WIFI module (7.0.A.1.303 FW or flashing module to other firmwares). Also, baseband and IMEI is blanked out in settings. The radio is not working at all.
So after testing a lot of firmwares and roms (I must've flashed this phone 3,8 billion times by now...), this is the result:
NONE of the stock firmwares I've tried (almost all of them I think...) help
CM 10 seems to be working completely. At least radio and WIFI are fine for now.
CM10.1 and 11: WIFI working, baseband and IMEI are shown, I can scan networks, but can not register in any network.
CM10 is using Baseband 8960A-AAAAANAZQ-10015019-33, while 10.1 and 11 use 8960A-AAAAANAZQ-10015031-47.
So far so good (boy was I happy when I was able to dial a number in CM10!!!).
Now I would like to get a stock ROM working.
The question: How will I get the stock ROMs working? I would have to find out what CM is using that stock isn't. I'm actually quite confused about the fact that even the oldest stock (7.0.A.1.303, couldn't find any older one) would not work, while CM 10 will.

I read that some people here are using LT30p prototypes without issues and I'm wondering if any of you guys can help me getting there too.
When I got the phone, it was basically a mess. Service Menu will FC when trying to open configuration, loads of FCs here and there...it wouldn't wake up when the screen turns off, the WIFI wasn't working, Radio not working at all...
I was able to solve WIFI and FC by installing PACMAN v.23. This was mentioned on another forum.
So I'm wondering about the modules, lib, baseband etc that's used in there. Maybe someone can shed some light.
PACMAN shows this baseband: 8960A-AAAAANAZQ-10015031-47
WIFI is also working with 7.0.A.1.303 ICS and 7.0.A.3.223 ICS. Flashing the stock ICS WIFI module to other firmware versions fixes WIFI.
While I can search for networks in PM, I cannot log on to any of them. On stock the phone will detect when a SIM card is inserted and will reboot. After reboot, it will say there's no SIM card installed though.
Also, PAC will show the IMEI in the settings, all the stock firmwares don't.
@godfather4her: I'll mention you here since you might have some info on this .

Did some more testing and updated first post. Radio is finally working with CM 10.
I didn't mention that some of the stock firmwares use the same baseband as the one in CM10, that doesn't help though.
Also, coming from CM10 and flashing stock without baseband doesn't help.
This thread has had 150 views so far, but no responses. I know this might not be the usual problems that people have to deal with, but someone surely must have an idea

well u had the gut to unlock bootloader in order to run a custom rom like CM or Pacmac...etc... i didn't have because my phone is still under warranty and unlocking BL will void it.. that's why i sent to sony for a repair.
but i was wondering why you're using a prototype in the first place?
well i guess it's for devs or testing purposes, and it might be not the same like the official release. you're still lucky to have it detecting radio and wifi, because of a working Baseband and IMEI... refer that to sony by asking them to which country your phone was branded, then from that, get a hold on the initial firmware came installed in ur phone, might be some differences from SI(sale info) to another.
go to sony support, if u would like to either make a live chat with an agent or place a call, and ask them about your phone info as i told you. they would just request the imei number, then they will give u all the information u need about ur phone.
at least this will help you get to the correct stock u need to flash (hopefully to bring the radio functionality on).
good luck bro!
Well, ebay...you never know what you get
I didn't buy a prototype on purpose. It would be kinda foolish to spend money on a phone when you don't know whether you'll get it working again. Even though I have to admit that I appreciate the challenge
Prototypes are not supported at all. No warranty, no nothing. Of course I tried to get some information out of the support guys, but as I expected, that was a dead end.
I recently got Xperia T prototype as you said (IMEI 0044**). Can you tell me did you find anything more? I bought it with not working GSM and working WiFi. I tried to install stock firmware and now I don't have GSM neither WiFi?
What did you do? What should I do?
PS: I managed to get it working with CM10 rom
I have xt prototype and i installed 9.2.a.0.205 central european version and all is working normally. Try that version. And battery life is great.

Lucky you.
There are prototypes that seem to have slightly different hardware. I've heard from other people having XT protos that are running just fine on most, if not all firmware. Unfortunately, mine is not one of those.
