i'm using this nice rom , but there is 2 things i would like to ask:
1st. When i receive sms i do not see any visual notification only sound (if it is enabled) how to fix that?
2nd. where is the mobile tracker if i loose my phone?
besides i've tried 3 others ICS roms Cyanogen9, Dark Knight, AOPK , none of these showed visual notification when message received.

I'm coming from WinMo/WP7 to android, and I'm very happy with my purchase of SGS I9000. However there is something that kinda bothers me,
I've tried the stock ROM, Darky's, Ultimate, and a few others, and the annoying thing (for me) is the blue theme and feel of the messaging (SMS) client which is there in almost every SGS' ROM.
I prefer to have the original (plain black) theme of android's messaging client, as I don't really like the black-blue theme of SGS.
Is there any way that i can get the original android's skin back?
(Currently Im using the Darky's 9.5 ROM if its important.)

I think the default AOSP android SMS has a white background, certainly that's what you get in CM7. The MIUI ROM has many different themes but that changes the whole look and feel of android. AFAIK only the stock Samsung SMS has the black screen.

What I am after is a messaging app that has these two features.
1) That SMS messages are NOT converted to MMS messages when they get too long.
2) That the time when the SMS was SENT is displayed next to it rather than the time it was received.
I've been using ChompSMS for a while which fixes the first problem but the app itself seems to be prone to slow downs and feels generally more sluggish than stock. Ideally if there is a modded version of the stock messaging app that addresses both these issues would be best. I'm not fussed about changeable themes etc

Im new to the SGS and so far loving it, except one annoying issue. my whatsapp push notifications do not work. Everything worked on the stock GB rom, then i moved to ICS WEUI rom, i think most of the time i got whatsapp notifications and then it stopped. I dont think ive done something the mess with it. in the past 2 days i flashed 5 different ROMs and i cant get these notifications to work. now im on Slim 3.5 (with its default kernel) and i been threw every setting in the rom and still nothing. BTW, gmail notification work all the time, no problem there.
This is the current setup:
android: 4.0.4
base band: I9000XXJVU
kernel: [email protected]#1
build number: 3.5
Under the Accounts & sync the whatsapp is checked.

I used to have that "bug" on my i9000 WeUI Phone and now its the same on my new Galaxy Nexus running official MIUI v4...
I think it is a whatsapp-problem and hope they can fix it soon

Is a problem of the rom. I use TsunamICS 1.9 AOKP Milestone5, and whatsapp working very well..

I think un.droid should have explained the bug a lil more detailed..
Its basically that:
Whatsapp running in background -> Push Notifications are working fine!
Whatsapp running in background and cleared from RAM -> Push Notifications are working fine!
Whatsapp stopped by FORCECLOSE etc.. -> Push Notifications are not working and Whatsapp wont revoke itself till you start it again!
And sometimes Whatsapp closes it self after a while of not being used...
So if you leave your phone untouched for a couple of hours the app closes and you wont get any message!
I'm using miui 2.5.11 on SG2, same problem.
the only way i can get messages from people is when i open whatsapp, then i can see i have missed allot of messages.
it is very annoying...
Any specific answer? My whatsapp also failed to push message thru on Samsung I9100. Weird. I still dunno if its rom's fault or app's fault.

i was on fusion room v2.5. I did something on the phone and I saw that stopped working power button. I back to 2.3 and nothing then i go back to 4.04 and nothing whats going on ?

FYI, i just installed Fusion Rom v.2.5 yesterday (31.07.2012) ..However, there is a problem with my contacts & dialer, it's keep force close when i try to open it. (both apps based on XXLR1 or something), Means i can't call or receive call from people using my note due to this problem.Everything else works fine for me..just sadly i my contact keep freezing and force close by itself.Please help me to fix this problem a.s.a.p. I love this Fusion ROM bcoz it's fast & smooth .......
your probably on a different dpi, lower then 240.
you can try exdialer, that should work, just set it at default if thats the case

i know this is old issue as 4.4.4 kitkat also become older.but as i see there's still many user including me still using kitkat/cm11 rom.the only problem only while making whatsapp video call people face is turn to blue colour just like avatar ? thats really a problem.some solution is to upgrade to cm12 and above rom.but i belive is people still like to stick with kitkat rom instead upgrade.so,i hope some devs can help us solve this problem.mybe some patch fix?
