Hey Guys i have a couple of problems I was wandering if any of you have the same problem or something similar?
My accelerometer is off about 5-6 degrees to the left on all the sides. This is driving me knots. Any body know if there is a way to calibrate it? Or i have to send it back to HTC?
And i do have some other very strange problem. Wen I'm on unlocking pattern screen and battery charge 19% or less. It is showing me 19% but if i go to settings and status it will show me actual percentage. If I will restart phone or plug charger in it will show me actual percentage on the unlocking pattern screen and it will grow wan being charged. But if i will unplug it wan it is below 19% it will get stock on the number and will not drop. But Wan I'm going to the settings/status it is showing me actual % of charge witch is correct. I did try many roms and it is same on all of them. Is it a hardware problem or every one have it?
The battery problem only happened to me once, i just let it run out of batteries and charged it again, and it fixed it.
First of all, the is the DEV section... your question has no relation to any dev discussion... this should be in Q&A... mods please move!!
How did you figure out the 5/6 degrees slack on the accelerometer? If it's using a particular app, try another app... try reseting the phone to defaults... otherwise, you might have to send it back... looks like u have a root phone though, don't knw abt the send back to HTC part...

I don't know how to move post.
I have lots of games and programs that uses accelerometer and same off set on all of them. And i have tried many ROM's and i have reset about 6 times same thing no changes. I have got replacement phone from HTC and it did had more problems than mine. So I'm sanding replacement back.

Thanks for recommendation. I can't use this ROM do to unreliable Bluetooth. This is my work phone and I'm driving a lot so this is out of question.
Everything should be fine with CM 5.0.4.1 as well. I suggest re flashing a ROM of your choice with full battery via Anons recovery. fastboot via Volume down + Power, and go into recovery to flash the zip. then after this, dont charge it until the battery is low.

I will try to do that. I do believe that my phone is defective. Do to accelerometer problem i was experiencing from the day one. I will not be surprised if there is a problem with power monitoring chip. And i did use CM 5.0.4.1 for longest time. I have noticed that that rom is match slower than privies ones.
Hi all,
Firstly, thank you all for providing so many answers to my many noob-questions, even before me asking them! This forum is great.
So, my setup is visible as the first attachment to this post.
Previously, I have had lots of problems with the battery only lasting 5 hours, but I have finally come across a good config of kernel, ROM and apps that have boosted that considerably. Also, I keep WiFi turned off, apps bckground syncing off, GPS off and accounting syncing off. DarkyROM rules!
And, my running services are really few (see second attachment), and I'm getting some really good battery times now (see third and fourth attachment)
And, here is my question to the forum:
I have realised that a) when the battery drops below 50%, AND b) the display is set to time-out at 15 seconds, THEN the phone shuts off, and I can see that the battery seems to have died. Please see the third attachment to this post! Does anyone have an idea what is going on, and how to resolve it?
Thanks so much for any constructive answers!
Mark
Did you try wiping battery stats in recovery mode? You could even try recalibrating. Do a search for "calibrate battery" in XDA forums.
i had the random shut down issue, after i contacted the support center they thought it was a battery app. Do you have any battery monitor apps? If so, uninstall all of them.
For me that didnt solve anything, i had to get a replacement phone. If you are still within your 1 year, i would highly suggest doing the same. Now that i got this new phone my battery life has been amazing. With the original unit it used to be tops 12 hours, now i can get 1.5 days!

sadly, my phone is more than a year
Try these things :
# Replace Battery
OR
# Resoft , reset battery,recalibrate
Try battery calibration or charge it 100% and then flash the rom and see. If this is one not helping you. I think you have to change the battery.

Not the best idea!
This is happening on Juwe's ROM v5.2 JVQ.
I had a freeze after exiting a game called Paradise Island (I get that quite often!) and then I had to press the power key for 9 seconds for the phone to reboot itself.
And, NO, that charging on the graph isn't an actual charging, the battery just recalibrates itself over time. Strange!

could you guys point me in the right direction to were i can get a better rom please
i just play the odd game and then use the web/
im a bit off a noob so i need a guide were i can just download the 3 files put them in odin and off it goes.

How?
The phone is not new. Been no this Rom for about a week
I used this quide and all OK...
After the update:
In recovery mode, select options Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and also you need to select the option of “Clear Dalvik Cache” after which you need to reboot your device by selecting reboot system now after which all the cache files will get deleted.
You already tried calibrating the battery? And when you install a new ROM you generally have to wait a few days for the battery reaches its normal duration.
the best battery life i have ever had was on MIUI. It was like two days ... no problem. i heard for some guys it was even up to four days.
you are on a gingerbread bootloader, so its no problem to flash MIUI with a *.zip file in recovery. just search the forum here for a good version.
to do:
-glitch kernel
-download a governor ("conservative" or "ondemand")
-two apps from the market: CPU tuner, CPU spy
-search for tutorials for CPU tuner
=> fixed your problems
if you have flashed yout rom with your battery not fully charged, you have to calibrate your battery
And also doing 3-4 full charge
yes, u need to do full discharge recharge cycles 2-3 times... wipe battery stats after that from recovery mode on full 100% charge.
Hope this helps
I have two phones. Both running same Rom but i only use one phone. The other i charge the battery in
only just had to do that since the update.
So the batterys are always fully discharged and recharge.
I didn't know about calibrating the battery ill look into that now.
Thanks for the advice.
Just calibrated the battery fingers crossed this work. Half a day for a phone to last is poor.
Was thinking this is like the iphone
when you guys have fully charged your phones and you go into better status how many how's does it say it has left.
Is it random?
Mine says 40 hours
edit lol now it says 7 mins 40 seconds but battery is still full

You still didn´t gave the time battery needs to settle down. In a couple of days you will see that battery will again last for 2 days easly.
For a better rom that you ask on the first post find it on i9000 development forum. There you have roms with different specs. Choose and test them for yourself and see wich fits you best.
I should say for you to test the Hybrid.

Turning off most app synchronizing (settings » account & synchronisation settings) is making a big difference as well, at least to me. Just disable automatic synchronisation (keep background synchronisation on), and turn it off for all apps. Saves me quite some hours of battery. I'm assuming the update reset all your synchronisation to ON. I'm never using the word synchronisation again, pfft.
hello koooowweeee
Try BatteryCalibration (market) or.
1. Connect the charger to the phone while it is on, and let the load be up to 100%.
2. Unplug the charger and turn off the phone.
3. Reconnect the charger while the phone is off, and leave the task until it shows 100% again.
4. Unplug the charger, then turn the phone, wait for it to boot completely, then turn it off
5. Reconnect the phone to the charger (always off) and wait until it returns to 100%.
6. Disconnect the charger, turn on the phone with flight-+ power to access the Recovery.
Once in recovery, go to Advanced, and make a Wipe Battery Stats, then reboot the phone.
or flash CM7 7.0.2 Kang!

Well been using my phone all day and battery has lasted so far. Its on 13% now which is better than it was
ill try the method above tomorrow morning and see if that's better
the guide i seen on here was to charge battery to 100% then take the charger out and battery for 90 seconds then put it back in.
Seems to have worked
Hi all!
I am using rom miniCM9-3.0.2 by nobodyAtall. I love this rom but battery use about one day... I've just used basically function. I try to wipe battery stats, remove unused applications... but nothing changes. Anybody knows how to solve this problem?
Thanks so much for help!
(Sorry for my bad english)
Use smartassV2 as cpu governor under performance settings, might increase battery by a margin, but as for now there is no solution for this problem, use minicm7 based rom if u want better battery performance..cheers..
I'll try it. Thanks u!
Try to tick" use 2g only" option! there's a bug here, you need to re-tick it every time you re-boot your phone.

1-Charge your phone to 100%
2-Poweroff your phone and leave it charging for 1-2 more hours
3-Boot on CWM and wipe battery stats
4-Go to build.prop and find this line "ro.telephony.ril.v3=1,icccardstatus,skipbrokendat acall,datacall "
Add qcomuiccstack at the end of the line. It should look like this :
ro.telephony.ril.v3=1,icccardstatus,skipbrokendata call,datacall,qcomuiccstack

Hi does this work for minicm7?
Dear fellow enthusiasts,
since a couple of days, I'm experiencing sudden device crashes when I'm using it for network related activities, mostly over the 3G network (for example, I'm typing out a message on the Facebook app, and the phone goes into boot loop or simply "shuts down"). I had only recently upgraded to the 4th beta build for the Cyanogenmod 9, hosted here on XDA , so I suspected it would be related to this. However, upon reinstalling both the previous version and the new mod from absolute scratch, the issues remained the same.
I had noticed that after each crash, the battery charge displayed as very low (2-6%), whereas I'm certain the charge should be much higher. So I thought it might be some sort of corrupt battery-cache issue or something.
However, and here's my actual question, I just now noticed that my I9001 battery is slightly bulged, on both ends. This bulge starts just above the white printed SAMSUNG lettering, and it ends just bellow the QR code. I can't for the life of me remember if or not this is normal, so could someone please confirm this for me?
And while we're at it, could a faulty battery affect my performance as such (making my phone crash etc)?
Thank you very much in advance for any help or information anyone could give me.
I confirm, battery is slightly bulged in those places but it looks like a production "thing" to me (I hope I understood what you mean), no need to worry, I guess. Looks like corrupted battery stats, try to wipe it via recovery (phone fully charged, plugged in - then wipe battery stats). After that, i recommend one or two full battery discharge - charge cycles. I've noticed hovever, that after each full factory reset I have for about 20% better battery drain, than after flashing many ROMs, kernels and updates (cache and dalvik cache wipe only), my battery drain is getting pretty annoying. Try a full factory reset, if wiping battery stats didn't work.

I'm sorry but I've encountered this as well in the past. Normally working phone with sudden shut downs and huge drops in battery charge. It took me a long time to convince me that the battery was defective. So maybe this would save you guys some time in finding this out!

I have the exact same problem with my sgs i9000-gt.
My phone turn off itself ( no restarts, its a complete shutdown ).
First, I thought i might be a problem of GB 2.3.6 rom i was using, so i updated to latest cm10 but the problem persists.
If you restart the phone after the shutdown than i shuts down within a minute again.
Also the battery drain is pretty fast. I notice the same bulges on the battery as reported in this post.
I did the battery calibration thing as some people suggested, but that does not solves the problem. However, it got rid of the fast changes in battery status which was happening before. Like when you restart after shutdown at 80% battery status, it will show like 2% battery left and after few minutes of charging it would boost back to 80-90%.
But still the battery drain is pretty fast. It discharges from 98% (i cannot get to 100% charge, 98% is highest) to 50 % within an hour, just idling.
And when i am around 40% or so and if i recieve some message and try to open a app it shuts down again.
I have ordered a new battery just in case. Will update here if that improves things for me. But i will still like advice on which is a more economical kernel and rom for i9000-gt? Some people suggested slim bean + semaphore on some forums but i would like to have some more concrete advice before i change more things without knowing the source of the problem. I would be grateful if someone can suggest what is best to use with some details( version, etc). Thanks for that in advance.
I thank you all (users + developers) for all the useful information provided on this forum, i learnt a lot although i still am not able to fix my problem . And I hope someone might come up with a concrete solution for this problem. If there is a solution which I might have missed, I thank you in advance again and hope you will be kind enough to point me in the right direction.
cheers
update: the phone stays alright if u dont do anything on it, but the moment you being doing something on it other than playing with system settings, like run some app, especially something that uses network / wifi, it shuts down. none of this happens though while its plugged in. it happens only when its on battery.
problems fixed so far after replacing the battery

today my new battery arrived and all the forementioned problem seems to be gone with the new battery, my phone seems to be working fine for last 5 hrs without any restarts or crazy battery drain. will test the same with custom roms again. As of now it only seems that problem was the battery.
Cheers.
