[Q] Help! How do I recover now??? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

GT-N7000, performed the ICS upgrade via Mobile Odin Pro using LPY and the CF root per Dr Ketan's instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25916135&postcount=1840
Installed the md5 file, but CF kernel, everoot, inject Mobile Odin.
All good, rebooted a couple times and installed apps etc. All perfect, SU up, all 100%
Now I change the DPI using the dpi changer to 280 (what I used in GB) and now I cannot get past the black & white boot screen.
I have pulled the battery etc, but nothing. I used to have CWM with GB but doesn't look like I can get anything now. I can press all 3 keys (vol dn, home, power) to get into "Downloading...do not turn off target" but Kies will not install drivers or connect.
How do I get out of this situation? I'm sorry to sound desperate, but I am! Help!

You know what? I gave someone else the CWM recovery advice but couldn't initially get into it - screen kept on blacking out in a loop- so I pooed myself a bit....see what panic does?
Back in to GB now, will try again without the DPI change!

Better clean up that poo, bro. Btw I used rom toolbox and am rocking 280dpi.

LOL! Is that the app you used to get 280 DPI in ICS? I presume the DPI app changer I used was the problem...

Yes try it.

If you can get into download mode, and can't you install an official ROM via pc odin?

There are two ways to remove the yellow triangle/binary count without a jig...I have a kernel, and I there is Triangle Away...
And if you can get into download mode, your phone is not bricked...just soft bricked. Flash a stock firmware...

Easiest way is
If you are able to get into download mode
1. Flash Stock ROM with PC odin
2. get root N install ICS base custom ROM
3.Use triangle away to reset counter
4 Back to Stock ROM

Wasn't there a kernel version which zeroes the binary counter from angelom (following the bricking fiasco)? Someone might still have it

Hi dude here is the message angelom sent to me its got the link to the Kernel Enjoy
So here is the link kernel that reset counter and remove yellow triangle:
http://www.mediafire.com/?5bmrc6cf81w5mya
Of course this is what I tried last night and it was fine (flashed over 10 times)
instructions:
It 'a tar file, then flashed it with Odin Pc
You need to have ICS, so if you tried to install GB with odin, you have to flash the Chinese leak ICS (always with odin)
Even if you flash the rom from error, after trying to install, always installs with odin the kernel, it usually also with your problem is successful.
Just you see that phone reboot (just odin gives you the message that the flash of the kernel has been successful) disconnect the usb cable and press once the keys to enter the recovery mode (Vol + + home + power) and keep them pressed until do not see the recovery.
You'll still have the yellow triangle.
When did you get into recovery (still touch CWM) touch on reboot
So, even if eventually the Rom should not start it for the problem of partitions, you'll see that the triangle is gone and the counter is reset.
Of course you do so at your own risk, given my experience after what has happened, I emphasize.

[Q] What to do when I soft brick.

I was installing the DA Statusbar mod. Before I did that I back up my phone using CWM and Titanium Backup.
installed with no problems, I then rebooted. Home screen froze for a second and then showed me that my system.ui crashed. It kept doing that for a good 5 minutes. I decided to go back into CWM and restore my last saved state. I recieved an error installing the back ups (I have made 5 so far).
Now I don't really know what to do. I know I have to basically start from the beginning via flashing stock rom on odin. But how would I go about doing that? I can't seem to find the thread that explains this. =/
Thanks in advanced
SOLUTION HERE
You need to be much more specific. What's your recovery version? How did you backup/restore? Have you done this before? What's the error?
Use the unified tool kit to flash the stock rom.
I strangely cannot find a thread for the 9305 for stock roms =\
The stock firmware can be found on sammobile
Sent from my GT-I9305 using xda premium
To shorten the question and answers... If you could still boot to Download mode.
Flash your stock original firmware trhu Odin on your pc or download an exact model for your phone in SamMobile. From there you start a new... Root then re flash the cwm and so on...
If I understand this right you can boot to cwm and you can boot into the phone but the systemui fcs.
You can do a couple things here without having to reflash anything through odin. If you have your original systemui on the phone somewhere you can try and navigate to it with a root explorer then copy it into your system/app reboot and it should be as before, this can be tricky with constant fc's.
If you have a zip which has a systemui in it you can flash that in cwm and should fix the problem.
If you have a custom rom on your phone you can boot into cwm and flash it.
The fact that you have access to cwm and the phone boots but the systemui constantly fc's making the phone unusable means you have more options and quicker ways to get your phone working then going back to scratch and flashing a rom through odin

Solution.
Basically I got stuck at the samsung boot logo for ages.
I am running CWM v5.5.0.4. I have done this before, sorry I wasn't specific, I was trying to multitask. I've attached a screenshot of my phone info for everyone to see.
1. I wiped data/factory reset.
2. Wiped cache partition.
3. Wiped Dalvik Cache
4. Battery Stats
Rebooted, still no luck.
I went into Download mode.
Opened Odin.
Downloaded " Param_Bin_I9305.zip - 612.14 KB" located in this post
Followed the instructions in that post.
rebooted.
Thought it didn't work but my capacitive buttons lit up. SUCCESS!
Saw my homescreen, I thought I would have needed to root again but I managed to get into CWM after rebooting.
I downloaded root checker....I saw that I still had root access.
Installed Pandoriam v6.
Now I am back to normal.
My CWM backup didn't save me, I don't really know why. Maybe I was using it wrong? The thing is It's worked with me in the past, but not on this device.
Is there anyone that could shed light on that issue? I'll try and back it up again. Do I need to repeat the backup more than a few times to register it to the device?
Not sure if this is the right place or not but seems to be a similar situation.
I have a month old S3 LTE that came with 4.1.2 . It has not been rooted or had anything done to it at all.
I found a thread that shows you how to unlock it but was not getting the final option . This I understood was because some of these phones needed to be downgraded .
I saw a procedure using odin and looked for a similar rom on Sammobile but could not see any for Orange UK so picked a random 4.1.1 Rom and flashed it.
This left me with a glowing Samsung boot screen so I tried another ROM and another ROM and finally when giving up choose a current 4.1.2 Rom for EE but that too is stuck at the same place.
Can you help me work out where I am or have been going wrong please?
The Phone is from Orange UK ( EE ) but there was no branding on it .
i also neglected to note the Rom that was on it
if you read the guides you will find out that you need to factory reset after flashing
Unfortunately as the phone is sitting at a glowing Samsung logo, I cannot factory reset. In fact I cannot do anything except keep throwing Roms at it, unless you have any other suggestions?

[Q] HELP!! Captivate Stuck on AT&T Boot Screen After ClockWorkMod Install

[Solved!]
Hey everyone!
I followed the Cyanogenmod guide from cm's website on how to install cm 10 on rooted att captivate from android 2.2 froyo.
I followed the guide exactly up to installing cwm recovery via heimdall on a windows 7 (heimdall wouldn't work on an xp I have so I switched to my 7) and everything worked as it said it would, however after finishing and getting the blue bar on the download mode screen, I held the vol up/down and pwr keys per the guide and the phone went to the att logo screen that it shows when you first turn it on and it just flashes that screen.
I can get into download mode still but it won't go into the options screen to hard reset or use cwm recovery.
I rooted it using the superoneclick method and I backedup with titanium.
I haven't been able to find anyone on xda or any other site with the same problem as me (everyone with a similar problem had a different version of android or something so I was afraid to try the solutions given for them.)
Please Help!! Thank you so much in advance!!

Flashin to KK4 with the Bootloaders included (if u don't already have them) has solved the button combo problems for others who were not able to get into recovery, etc.
Heed all warnings about flashin bootloaders. It only takes a few seconds to flash the boot.bin and sbl.bin, but ya don't wanna interupt the flash durin that process, i.e. loose power, accidently disconnect micro usb/usb cable, etc.
Once ya have the gb boots, there is no need to flash bootloaders again.

How long should/could it take Odin to detect/recognize my captivate? I couldn't wait to try the KK4 flash, but I've waited for about 10 minutes and it's not showing anything in Odin.:\

Well I've been up all night lol but I got everything to work!! I guess it all just clicked with me and I understood and found all the answers in threads. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Your link and Odin one click worked perfect. I think I had a problem with the drivers, that's why it wouldn't detect it. I read in another thread it could be that and I tried reinstalling the Samsung drivers but no luck. So I just switched to my windows xp where I'd never used heimdall drivers(I was on my windows 7) and did it on there, worked perfectly! I then went on to reinstall cwm and then cm 10.1.2 and I love it! Now I'm waiting for the Google play store .zip to download so I can flash it onto my i897! THANKS AGAIN!!!

Phone stuck with yellow triangle, Odin fails

I was on Paranoid Android (Jellybean 4.2 version). My phone suddenly froze. I took out the battery, placed it again and tried restarting. But, my phone got stuck in a Bootloop. It didn't go beyond Samsung Galaxy Note Screen. I tried loading recovery(I was using CWM) but it showed some error. So, I tried flashing Philz CWM6 recovery using Odin but it failed. I also tried flashing the stock Jelly bean rom(Indian Version) using Odin but it failed as well. It also raised the binary counter. Now my phone is stuck at the Samsung Galaxy Note screen with a yellow Triangle.
Please help, haven't been able to use the phone since a day. :/
On which step does Odin fail/freeze? Remove the battery, removed USB cable from the phone. Out back the battery and press vol up home & power together till you see Samsung. See if you can get into recovery.

Have you installed TWRP as recovery or are you trying to use built in recovery?
Volume up, home button, and power as its starting up.
This will work with stock recovery or team win recovery.
Then factory reset/clear data.
