I upgraded to ICS with mobile ODIN method described in development forum and everything went OK, ICS was there and working OK. Then i did factory reset and that also went ok, then i did backup with clockwork mod an decided to restore my old gingerbread ROM because I haven't got tim to play with ICS today. Then everything went wrong. While restoring Gingerbread ROM my note just reseted itself and could not boot pass galaxy note letters. Then tried to get him in download mode and succeded to flash it with factory KJ1 rom, but when it booted, it's just not working. It's stuck in Welcome to GT-N7000 (touch the android icon to begin) screen, and just inform me that some of the services could not be started. When i touch android icon nothing happens. Is there a way to repair this an can anibody tell me what happened?
Take your battery out, wait for 1 minute.
Put it back in, boot into CWM (Volume up + Home + Power)
Do a factory reset.
Reboot.
I don't have cwm anymore because i flashed factory kj1 rom with odin from my PC

You will still have stock android recovery. Go wipe cache and format data there and reboot.
Thanks very much, it did work, I really am a noob

I was recently using Stunner ICS but decided I wanted to go back to stock and start over. I downloaded the stock N7000XXKJ4_N7000OXXKJ4 firmware and installed it through odin. I did not receive any errors on the phone or on my PC. But now it seems like my phone is stuck in a boot loop. It just keeps showing the samsung boot animation over and over. I used the download jig to get into download mode and tried redoing the firmware twice already with no luck. One thing I did notice is that the jig is no longer resetting the binary counter. Does anyone have any other ideas or is my phone possibly bricked?
This is supposed to be in Q& A section... Anyways... Did you try wipe?

What worked for me having the same problem recently is go to Recovery mode (Volume up + home + power) and you'll see this funny kinda recovery, not at all CWM Do a data wipe/factory reset and then reboot.
Same thing happened with me yesterday, wipe in recovery fixed the problem

I'm sorry. Mods please move to appropirate section.
Thank you guys. I was beginning to freak out. I was trying to do the recovery menu but couldn't get it to work. I thought the recovery menu was also hosed but I had the wrong buttons. All is good now! thank you so much!
First thing you need to do if you want to get back GB, flash abyss 3.9 redpill kernel.
After that flash GB rom.
So later you can flash whatever kernel you want

Hanging at Samsung logo; can't boot into recovery; am I bricked???
Hi guys...
I've been semi bricked for about 18 hours now. And it's starting to look like it's a full-brick.
I had the latest Gingerbread ROCKET ROM on my Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000, with the latest Franco kernel in place.
I thought I'd give the ICS version of ROCKET ROM a go. Flashed Abyss4.2 kernel without any hassles. Used 'advanced' to boot into recovery. Did my various wipes. Flashed the ICS Rocket Rom zip. And got caught up in the recurring boot-up, mostly upgrade, run, reboot cycle that's been described in many places.
Didn't panic.
Booted into recovery again, and flashed the ICS Rocket Rom again.
But this time, it wouldn't go past the SAMSUNG logo.
Still, I could boot into recovery.
Which I did.
And I tried to restore my Gingerbread build from Nandroid.
Tried it. But it hung on the Samsung logo again.
With one key difference... Now, no matter how much I try, I can't boot into recovery.
I *CAN* boot into 'download' mode. So I've used PC Odin to try and inject a rooted Gingerbread rom into the phone.
The instructions tell me to wait for the phone to reboot twice. Sadly, it tries its first reboot, and doesn't get past the Samsung logo. And that's where it hangs. No recovery mode either.
What shall I do??? Oh, woe is me. Etcetera.

UPDATE
--------------------------------------------------------
I found a version of Abyss 4.2 kernel in tar format. I flashed it via PC ODIN, and I now seem to have a phone that can boot again.
Not much more to report at the moment, cos the battery is on about 3%, so I'm charging it now before delving further. Will give more feedback once the battery's up and running again.
Here's a link to the Abyss file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1072122&d=1337500067
I tried all of this, was on stock ICS 4.0.3 and had it rooted.
I tried to restore a backup which was sadly on GB and then the restore of /data failed
I then tried to flash paranoid custom rom and it was successful but the phone never went any further than SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE GT-N7000 logo
I then Flashed a direct rootable stock rom via PC odin and all was well but the phone would never go any further than the logo before mentioned
I tried flashing AbyssNote kernel via pc odin but the CWM recovery menu kept on rebooting hence leaving me with not particular choice to select
Tried wiping data, cache mem, dalvik cache but no use and now i am on stock recovery menu. please help me out
i have this Samsung i9220 china i try to flash upgrade the firmware with Odin3 v1.85 . i got stock phone can't power non recover modem non booting logo , does anyone have any ideas ?
Hi!
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 which is stuck in a bootloop from 2 days already and i cant do anything to stop it. I was on stock ICS LP8 and I wanted to flash Paranoid Android ROM. So first I had to downgrade to GB and I did that by flashing a stock GB ROM from Dr Ketans thread via ODIN PC. When the flashing was done it just got stuck in bootloop at the "Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N700" screen. I have flashed different Stock GB ROMS such as KL3 or KK1 but the bootloop still presists. I have wiped cache and dalvik cache like a million times now but nothing changes. I have also done a wipe factory reset and that didnt change anything. I am able to get into download and CWM recovery mode. I have a few nandroid backups but when I try to restore it just says MD5 Mismatch! Right now i am on stock ICS LP8. Is there anything I can do to stop this bootloop?
Please help! Much appreciated.
Seems like a bad flash. Happens sometimes.
Download your stock GB ROM again - go to download mode and flash it via ODIN once again. After flashing, boot into recovery and wipe user data and cache.

Try the following procedure:
Download abyss kernel from:
http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/...rnel/AbyssNotekernel42CWTouchOriginalLogo.tar
Use PC odin to flash this kernel then boot into recovery mode of abyss. You can then do a full wipe and try to flash a rooted GB rom.
No Luck
Tried both methods but nothing seemed to change, its still in a bootloop. :-(
Anyway, thanks for the help!

Hello,
I'm back with a new problem
I updated my Note to LPY tonight. After fully rooting it I wanted to flash Abyss kernel in order to do a full wipe and flash Rocketrom V5. After flashing Abyss kernel I restarted the note and it got stuck at boot logo. After a couple of tries I wanted to go back to GB.
I used Odin to reinstall KJ1 and start from scratch. The process ended normally but after entering my pincode I received all kind of error messages like:
google framwork, calendar and so on and couldn't get through the set up.
I tried to reinstall the rom...same problem. I tried to reinstall LPY but get the same kinda messages at setup and can't get through.
I didn't do any wipe
Please help
Thanks
BruXav

Hi guys. Recently I have been using my phone and it hit 1% battery then went dead.
I charged it and rebooted it but it was stuck on the samsung logo.
I cleared my cache and dalvic but no luck ):
I also tried to Go back to GB stock and when I did it it works but keeps saying android something as crashed and every time I hit OK, It just popped up again.
I tried using Odin on my PC to go back to ICS but STILL stuck on the logo.
Made a NANDROID backup but still no luck...
Please help me!
are you on ICS now? if so, install philz kernel from recovery , reboot into recovery and perform a wipe data / factory reset. this should boot up the phone. if on GB, just go into recovery and do a factory reset

Hi, I did a factory reset. Although it was my final resort.
Do you think my phone will still be stuck when I recover from NANDROID?
if the nandroid has bad data then it will. but still worth a try as you can do a factory wipe to get booted again

Ok I will give it a try thank you I will report back if anything is gone wrong.
+1 thanks
this happened with me a month ago , i installed an app from store and it asked to reboot my device , when i did so , my note lagged on the shining samsung logo .
All what i did is flashing my note with original stock firmware using Odin , and the device still working perfectly till now ..
** my device version is ICS .
** most devices won't loss their data using this method , 'cuz it's like a software update ..
best of luck

Okay, the fact you can go to download mode and CWM is excellent. The factory reset and wiping wont fix as their isn't an OS there due to it not installing properly. Just download another ROM to your SD as your current one appears to have an error and flash through CWM.
If that fails use odin and download mode to flash stock ROM on to your phone for a usable device

To be honest its pretty much a generic tutorial for all, just download the KitKat ROM for your phone allong with its Gapps.
Now download the CWM verson for your phone and flash it like before
Once flashed boot your phone up to make sure it works, then copy the ROM and Gapps across. Now boot back into recovery and make a nandroid backup, then select the wipe data/factory reset option and the wipe cache options. Then flash the ROM and Gapps and your phone should have Kitkat
