I got this old model of galaxy tab 7" from sprint but I stopped its services....
An update is available but when I install the update it only finishes about 1/4 of the installation and a triangle with an exclamation point appears.
I also tried manual update steps in the internet but a small triangle with exclamation point is also appearing.
Firmware: 2.2.1
Hardware: P100.08
Kernel: 2.6.32.9
Build: SPH-P100.EB28
Can you take a pic of the exclaimation mark sign? You may need to learn to flash a firmware using odin or heimdall. Go to develoent forum and search for cdma stock rom or sprint stock rom. Collow their instruction carefully.
The exclamation was something like this but instead of the phone beside the triangle, it is the android logo...

reinstall the firmware 2.2 P1000NUBJM2, the galaxy started, I can
use it, but pressing the power button to turn off the screen
restarts, each time when press the power button to black screen the galaxy restarts... ... any help?
You can fix this problem by flashing Humberos kernel from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=974408
However your boot loader may be locked/signed which will prevent you from installing the kernel, you can however patch your kernel by reading this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=888071
After that flash humberos kernel using ODIN
Well, i tried the above.. and i couldnt figure it out -_-
So i flashed the original firmware while the screen was still blank, and after it restarted the screen came on. But its now stuck at the Samsung Logo.
Files: gt-p1000_mr.pit
PDA: P1000NUBJM2
Phone: modem.bin (extracted from the above firmware)
Where do i go from this point, wish i knew
Found the solution here: nontent.blogspot.com/2011/05/samsung-galaxy-tab-blank-screen-after.html
hope it works for you too
Can someone help me !!
I had some problems with the phone after deleting some system files (and the phone was looping at boot....) so I reflashed it with odin using Q1_20110914_16GB.pit and N7000XXKKA_N7000OXXKK5_N7000XXKK5_HOME.tar.md5 ..
The phone restart booting normally and everything is working except when it boot, just before the Samsung animation, I have a yellow triangle with the exclamation mark just below the "Galaxy Note GT-N7000"
the device is rooted and CWM installed on the device...
Boot the phone into download/odin mode. If it says that you flashed a custom ROM then you *hmhm* "successfully" incremented your custom flash counter.
Did you take a wrong rom when flashing with odin? Was your phone an AUT phone (since the rom you took I believe is an AUT rom)?

The yellow exclamation means it's been rooted. That way a service center knows you've rooted your phone, potentially voiding your warranty.
argh... my fault, please close this thread !!!
I guess I should have read a little bit more this forum before posting my question !!!
I'm new to android... .was playing with iphones before
Can somebody close / delete this thread I hate to pollute forums

This, my friend, is wrong. The exclamation mark (together with an incremented custom flash counter) means you flashed a non-approved on non-official rom or parts of it onto your device using the ODIN tool. No matter if rooted or not.
The device will continue to work inside certain parameters, its really only (as mentioned for a service rep for example) a visual and very obvious way to mark your device as having no warranty due to fiddling around with it in non-appoved ways. Thats all.

Is this permanent - can it be reset in future ?

Your phone is still in Download mode. There are numerous threads covering this in XDA, just perform a search. Here are some threads that may help you.

When my phone was stuck in this state, I used heimdall one click unbrick.
Hi everyone, I have a Galaxy S GT-i9000M which had an initial S gif looping problem
I installed on my windows tablet the SAMSUNG USB DRIVERS FOR MOBILE PHONES driver and 3 loader versions of Odin v 1.70, v 1.82, v3.12.3 and I know how to work them with the NORTH AMERICAN VERSION STOCK ROM firmwares for android FROYO GT-i9000M UGKC1 UGKC1 BMCKC1 Sbl,.... GT-i9000M UGJC2 UGJC2 BMCJL2 Sbl, ...... GT-i9000m UGJK3 UGJK3 BMCJK3 Sbl and I also downloaded the North American stock firmware Android GINGERBREAAD GT-i9000m UGKG3 UGKG3 BMCKG3 Sbl
After adding the respective tar.md5 files for the ODIN programs for PDA, PHONE and CSC I get the PASS green icon top left of ODIN screen saying that the Odin prgrams have flashed the stock ROM to the phone and I should expect the phone to reboot and to wipe the data clean and I should get a stock Android OS screen
Instead I either get a small DAISY WHEEL icon on a black screen that's stuck and not spinning or the screen with Galaxy S GT I900M on a black screen which loops continuously
Does my phone have a hardware issue or should I use the ODIN 3.12.3 with the PIT file for the GT i9000M and do a RE-PARTION box check .
If Yes where can I download the PIT file for my GT i9000M (NOTE PLEASE THAT THIS IS NOT THE GT i9000 ,mine is the i9000M )
I have also tried 3 USB to micro USB cables and they all work with ODIN
Any help would be appreciated
thanks
