Hello everybody i would like to ask you yours advices. I have my topaz since 2 years and i never really liked it because i find it really slow with WM 6.5 even for basics tasks as SMS writing. I have no apps because of the poor market place. I use it just as a phone or a (bad) camera.
Is there a rom improving topaz capacities or the speed?
Are developers still working in a android's ROM or wm 7 'ROM ?
I tried Xdandroid but it was really slow and unconfortable (lagging to boot it).
On the contrary should i buy a new phone? (wich i dont want to do even for a 200€'s phone).
i still use my topaz eventhough i've sensation as my default phone... for topaz the best rom is dutty's roms... and if u want to feel unlagging and fast rom, please flash the WM6 rom not the WM6.5
but for android's rom... there are not suitable with topaz processor and ram... they are bugg and lagging...
Ok thanks à lot!

no problem buddy..
Just some questions again: is wm 6'rom usable with fingers? Because wm6's was really bad with fingers. Are there not any stable and fast wm6,5's ROM?
Good evening
The Topaz is the best Windows phone on the HD2. With a good Rom (Shania_V1.XX [2.53] [23 534]), 16MB pagepool, ATI 3D Driver and WinMoSpeed (614Mhz) makes the work a real joy. Demanding applications such as IgoPrimo runs fast and stable.
Which little WM6.5 device offers 800x480 display and listen to more than 120MB of free RAM? :good: I know of none.

Hey Liam,
I quite agree with you... only last week someone posted the same question - I vote for none of the above as there are other ROMS that need to be in the Poll too.
I see "none of the above" is a clear leader.... I must try that ROM ;-)

EnergyROM: Fast sense 2.1/2.5, eye candy, anything else:Choppy
DonSalary Clean ROM: 2.1/2.5 sense, 50-60% use on startup, completely CLEAN.
I just use these 2 because they have Sense and they are smooth, but completely 100% complete ROMs are undoubtedly the fastest and most stable ROMs out there.

Here you find the best Rom
My Reviews
i've been flashing my htc diamond a lot these days with different ROMS...
the best ones?.... it depends on what u need i.e:
-Energy ROM (WM 6.5 with sense 2.1)
Pros: I like this ROM a lot, its fast, its "eye candy" (looks good) and it's really stable, i never had a ROM problem with it.
Cons: It takes a lot of RAM to run it, so youll need a ram cleaner or soft reset if u want to run programs like GPS or even some heavy games... thats really bad for me cause i use GPS a lot... so, discarted
-Gen.Y D2X (WM 6.1 sense 2.5)
Pros: WM 6.1 makes it really lite, u dont need WM 6.5 for anything because the manila is everywhere (data settings, personalization, programs.. everything is covered) it is stable and really fast.
Cons: im maybe too demanding but i want a nice locker for my device ("WM 6.5 slider" or "manila locker") but im starting to think that it is too much to ask in this WM 6.1 ROM because i just havent found a good one (manila locker gets crazy if the device is in landscape mode and WM 6.1 cant handle any of the CHT(Co0kie home tab) locks) Co0kie home tab is a cab that lets you personalize your home tab, it is really cool but when it comes to locking the device it just lacks the possibility.
-Don salari: i used this one like for 3 minutes... it is really lite, it is stable... but that was achieved by taking a lot of things out and that is really annoying for example: youtube quick link is there but u cant use it.. and there are some other things like that...
-Back to basics: same as don salari... it IS BASIC
so.......
here i am, looking for another ROM, next one im going to try is Energy ROM with titanium and im going to install SPB mobile shell 3.5...
Mod. edit: not dev related, moved to general
Bettry Issue
Hey does any one consider about bettry issue ,all roms works Fine but over all if bettry is Down who will use it.
I've tested over 100 ROMs of (WM 6.1 / WM 6.5). Some nice roms but in longer run all are having bugs. Finally i settled with

Dia Duit
I'm using this rom ever since I've heard about it (aprox 6 months ago).
I'm not saying it's perfect nor it's the best BUT...
Everytime I try another rom hoping to find a better one, in a matter of one or two weeks, I end up returning to Dia Duit.
BsB651G is one of the best and Phoenix 300 is very good.

As a newbie I have used Energy Rom GTX, Too nice but is a Memory monster. THinking of going to MEMO.;.. DAmn I luv this ROMS and this XDA site.
I wan´t to buy the HTC Herald for my girlfriend (I have HTC Touch HD), but she preffers built-in QWERTY keyboard. Can you please tell me, what is the best WM6 ROM for this device. I am looking for stable ROM with minimum 3rd party software addons. Just only clean fresh system, fast and stable with a lot of free RAM (yes, I know, there is only 64 MB RAM totally)
Thank you for all suggestions and good support od "God bless Xda-dev board".
edit: I was found Touch-IT v4.4 and 4.41 WWE P4350 ROM (Lite), which looks really cool. Or is there any better?
if your looking for free space on the herald JustME is prob the best bet. Small as can be....
ok, thank you. I will try
Hi everyone,
a newbie asks for some help:
I've just downgraded my Herald from HTC's WM6 to WM5 with the german/e-plus version from Brightpoint. My reason for this is Navigon's Mobile Navigator 6, which runs on WM5 much more faster and better. But finally, I'm unhappy with the behaviour of WM5.
What's with the posted 6.1 versions? Are there ROMs, which are carefully cleaned up but not naked like "JustMe", perhaps in german language? And last but not least stable releases ;-)?
Thanks for your help,
Chris
There is no real answer to this question as it is very subjective.
This thread gets closed with the recommendation that you read the Rom threads and find the one that has the features you desire.
Hi
Is it possible to view divx on kaiser smoothly without conversion? I heard about some unofficial drivers, does it works?
My second question, does WM 6.5 works smooth and with no lag on Kaiser?
Thanks
i would like to find out about these unofficial drivers aswell

6.5 is working great on my Kasier, smooth and much faster than 6.1 in my opinion. It took me a few flashes to find the 6.5 ROM I liked best though.
6.5 is awesome. for me, the problem about 6.5 is that some of the ROM's really suck my battery, I'm thinking of buying one of those 2800maH batteries.
I've had divx in both 6.5 and 6.1, and for me, it didnt seem to make a difference.
6.5 does have some lag issues, depends on which rom you use.
IMO - I found a lot of free ram in TPC ELITE roms.
Have some fun flashing around different roms of 6.5 and figure out the one you like most
hey guys,
i have tried, like, a million 6.5 roms that are posted on this forum but i havent found a single rom which is as fluent and smooth as 6.1. what is the reason behind that ?
is 6.5 ment to be that way or the device is not capable of handling it !
i saw a video of blackstone running 6.5 with manila 2.6 and it was flawless. even gSpot was working like butter. but when i tried a 6.5 rom with manila 2.6 and used the spot, it was like hell !!
could anyone answer why this is so !
i shall be greatfull
you wish, i gave up on that long time ago.
i a saw a webpage where it was showing that 6.5 was on average %20-%30 slower on a TouchDiamond2 on all benchmarks. ill see if i can find a link again and post it
X1 drivers pretty much suck (and HTC didn't let SonyEricsson write their own). Even with Neos2007's awesome efforts the X1 doesn't perform as well as the hardware is capable of.
Anyway, back to the point: Some of the 6.5 ROMs feel as fast as some of the 6.1 ROMs IMHO. The Valkyrie TR ROMs come to mind. I think some of the latest NRGZ ROMs are also smooth.
In terms of benchmarks, however, all the 6.5 ROMs seem to perform quite a bit worse in terms of graphics (~20% less), and just a little slower in other aspects (almost the same in RAM access, integer and float calculations).
I think the latest batch of 6.5 ROMs are usable on X1, but I tend to stay away since the volume control app sucks and the chefs haven't figured out how to replace it with the HTC one yet. Other than that I would be using a 6.5 ROM since the music playback seems smoother and I am a heavy music listener.
My 2 euro cents.
Hi all,
First post here so hope I haven't put it in the wrong place... I'm bored of the standard software on the HTC TOUCH HD after having it for a month so im looking for something a bit jazzy and was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of the best option for myself! It must meet the following criteria...
1) not drain the battery
2) not lag / be nice and fast
3) be able to run other apps nicely. in particular the tomtom navigator software that I've got.
4) not just be straight wm6.5 !
any suggestions? thanks in advance

topix in my opinion, but i do not like such threads.
For me is NRG 6.5 ROM from 17 Octomber with Manila Sense 2.1
Bugs free, very smooth and fast ROM, don`t dry my battery and all is almost perfect
[ROM][WWE][2/11/09] XannyTechROM GRID LEO 2.0 (Leo 1.43) (21872/23081)
I thing.......
topix without the slightest doubt
kwbr Topix 3.0.2
Runs excellent and fast
Tuurtje
Topix and Dutty the holy grail
I've tested a fairly large amount of roms, including Miri's (6.1 and 6.5), Dutty's (6.1 and 6.5), Laurentius, Xanytech's, etc... But I always find myself going back to a Topix rom.
In my opinion, Topix roms are unmatched in terms of simplicity, stability and speed.
I haven't tried the latest 6.5.1 roms though, they seem to be promising.
I think Miri's Xtralight 21872.The Fastest of all 6.5s
Hellonasty's MaryOne x00.4 is pretty fast and stable in my opinion..
Just my opinion.
WM 6.1: kwbr Topix 3.***
WM 6.5: XannyTechROM GRID LEO 2.0
I prefer 6.1 ROMs, but 6.5 are better with "switching" between UMTS and GPRS.
Closed this "which ROM is best thread".
Every user has his own perception of what makes a ROM good.
Every user has specific usage for his/her device, what one person would value an other would hate.
Even "best working" is kinda subjective, someone who eg. doesn't use MMS, doesn't value a perfect functioning MMS, another user could value a perfect working bleutooth stock, while an other never uses bleutooth, etc etc..
Lots of people, lots of tastes.
Best way to find the best working ROM for your purposes is in flashing and testing.
There is no way around that.

EqX
