Hey Guys
I found out something interesting. I downloaded this freeware audio routing software for using the earpiece for sip softwares like skype which normally send their autput audio through the loudspeaker and not the normal speaker for calls.
http://www.teksoftco.com/storage/download.php?product=audioroute_ppc
now the interesting thing is that this software has 3 possible speaker choices
one is the internal the other the external and speakerphone that when is activated u hear music from xperia in a greeat quality and really high volume. It sound like stereo speakers. I am really wondering how many speakers has xperia? and why normally the music doesnt come out like this but in a very low quality. ???
suggestions welcome

Most likely two...the ear piece speaker and the speaker phone speaker.
I don't think there's an internal speaker like on the Ipod Nano.
so, your'e saying that you found a way to enhance the inside speaker??
Cool !
For as far as i heard, there is a mono speaker built in, and there where plans to make it stereo..
I just gave this a try, it does produce sound from the ear piece speaker on one of the settings and while it is a much better quality sound it is far too quiet to make a difference or to listen to, you actually need to put the phone to your ear to hear it.
Shame, I was hoping it would flesh out the poor sounding loudspeaker
This guy didn't find 3 speakers.

I also had my xperia taken apart and couldn't see any other speakers. you can't always trust a software. if its programmed to say there are three speakers it will say there are three. also you have to look with which phones it is compatible

ok now try this
leave a song playing and from the software change from earpiece to speaker phone (The order is VERY important) so first put the audio to play in ur earpiece(first icon) then put it into the speakerphone (last icon) and u will hear a very loud music in a good quality. then if u change to the second icon u will hear the normal very low quality.
there is a huuuge difference

Ok, will give it a try later, so in theory it will be playing from both the ear piece and the loudspeaker, with the ear piece giving it a bit more oomph.
Will this work with the ring tone too???
This could be the final piece of the puzzle to make my Xperia perfect
Not true.

Ok that does it ...
The first thing when i get home is to make a video and upload it on youtube ... till later
this app is very bad...can't shut it down, speaker on and stuck there.
edit: okay, to shut it down you have to press the first icon and the little bar below is for moving it around.
the last icon did play with both speakers on. there is no 3rd speaker. first icon for the earpiece, second icon for speakerphone, and last icon for both. IT DOESN'T MAKE A BIG DIFF. Can you hear the earpiece loud? NO...

Strange ... for me it does ... but u have to pass from the earpiece (first icon) to the last icon ... and another icon will appear telling that speakerphone is ON and during this time the music is really much louder and in a much better quality.
like i said...the last icon is playing with both earpiece and speaker on. that's it.
Would the incall volume of the ear piece speaker make a difference...mind is set to the lowest so maybe when the sound is played through the ear piece that's why it's quiet.
What incall volume are you guys phones set too
carefull, you can burst your earpiece speaker with this.

hmm actually i dont think so ... because the higher volume doesnt come from the earpiece but from the normal output sound... only that is amplified and much better quality

Agreed, but there are only two speakers. Earpiece and mono loudspeaker.
The HTC Touch Pro2 has 3 speakers.
actually im thinking there might be three ... the one which is mono might have 2 speakers inside one low quality for music and ringtones and another good quality for loudspeaker during calls ... and is activated only when using loudspeaker during a call ... (u will see the same icon and notification that speakerphone is active)
but i really like the sound ... is like my laptop
I've been having microphone problems from the first day I bought this phone. When I use voice recorder, or the whatsapp recorder the quality is REALLY low, volume is REALLY low and the range of the recording is pretty low as well. I don't have problems when I'm on phonecalls, tho
Hello there,
I have made some video recordings with the phone, at several (plenty) concerts and when I re-view the videoclips the sound is terrible, there is too much bass, you can't hear anything. My wife's Galaxy S2 records videoclips with very clear sound.
Is there a way to make the sound from the videos to sound more clearly? (I repeat, only on high music volume, like concerts and stuff)
Thank you!

I think this "phenomenon" happens with most phones, most cheap camera's. I'd say it's just a matter of adjusting the sound input volume while/before recording, but we can't do that. There is just 1 lvl of sound we can record in. High end devices deal with these things better.
I tought so, uh well at least I can record with my wife's SGS 2 )
Hi,
strangely, i find the audio quality to be very poor (much worse than the GNEX i'm coming from anyway).
- sound stage is much narrower using the walkman app.
- using poweramp has proven to be impossible : there is an awful background noize (that i don't get either with the walkman app, either with google play music, like a FM radio interference.) The sound stage seems wider (I suppose this is thanks to the "direct volume control" feature of poweramp)
I did the test with 320kbps mp3, and a wide range of CD quality FLAC files.
I have tried the high res usb DAC output, but will not be using it on a daily basis as :
- it requires the platic waterproof protection to be off
- with my usb dac (dragonfly 1.2) the phone cannot control the dac's volume control (100% output volume would smash to pieces my earphones, and my ears)
- having a cable attached to the microusb port is the best way to break the port...
I'm not using any of the rubbishy musiFX, clearaudio stuff.
My earphones are high end IEMs (westone W60).
Anyone experienced this too ?
Well, I have encountered similar problem with you..
For the noise floor, it seems that this problem appears only if you use Poweramp, I have tried to use walkman and folder player with creative in-ear 3 and ATH-AD900X, the noise floor is not very obvious. Generally, I think z3c has a relatively good control of noise floor, and the arising of noise is due to Poweramp.
For the sound stage, yes it is narrower when you use Walkman, open the Clear Audio+ will enlarge sound stage a little bit but then the problem of sibilance arises
YEEES. Thank you so much for confirming I'm not going nuts and my phone is not malfunctioning !
I've sent a bug report to poweramp devs. I hope it gets fixed...
I personally can't bare clearaudio-style features which tend to give the feeling the music was recording microphone was set up inside a can...
ps: btw I learnt a new word today : sibilance.
ps2 : please upvote the bug thread on poweramp's forum (http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/6857-horrible-noise-floor-on-z3-compact/)
ps3: forgot to mention, this noise problem is related to Direct Volume Control. disabling this feature in poweramp removes the noise issue, but also reduces sound quality and sound stage.

hi, i'm too dissapointed about the music quality.
it was much better when i installed custom rom on xperia tipo with z1 features, clearaudio+ gave the huge quality boost
hi
as you all know, nokia 8 comes with OZO audio and has 3 microphones instead of 2
but the problem with it is that no app can use the OZO audio system properly. I've used a lot of audio recording programs, and all of them are having problems. When recording audio in stereo, first few seconds are fine, but the rest goes under heavy noise reduction and audio gain control that ruins the audio completely. now my question is whether it's possible to turn the noise reduction off somehow by tinkering with system parameters or not? my phone is rooted and I'm using android pie.
