Hi,
I need to get my phone back to stock for warranty before my USB port completely dies (not it works only at certain angles).
I read few threads regarding getting the phone back to stock but I am missing few infos I am asking for your help on this.
The data that I got and believe that is needed:
mainver: 2.32.1010.1
RADIO: 3822.01.08.14_M
HBOOT: 6.13.1002
and I bough phone in Switzerland and have: HTC_GER version (102)
I believe that following the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1359555 is the way to go.
Which RUU do I use due to my mainver ang HTC_GER?
Will vivo_downgrade.img from mentioned thread work for me; basically should the procedure and links on mentioned thread work for my phone?
Thank you very much!

Yes you have found the correct procedure to follow:
At this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033922
I noticed that they have the 2.32.1010.1 RUU that you should use given the current mainver you have.
Thank you but I do have a question regarding the radio.
Will I have a problem flashing mainver RUU since I upgraded the radio or will everything work ok?

The RUU should work
I checked on http://www.filefactory.com/f/e45d6fe3dcf51228/ for ROM for mainver: 2.32.1010.1 nad it is KT_KR (honestly I do not know what it stands for) but I figured out that my phone is suppose to have HTC_GER version (102).
How will that work for warranty - which ROM to use?

Then you will need to use the 3.08.405.3 version because the 2.30.405.1 version is lower than the mainver that your phone is reporting. You only option is to use a RUU with a higher version. You should be able to use 3.08.405.3 for your region.
Now I am stuck at splash screen.
What I did is download RUU_VIVO_SENSE30_S_HTC_WWE_3.08.405.3_Radio_20.4802.30.0822U_3822.10.08.28_M_release_227170_signed.exe
got out the rom.zip file, renamed it to PG32...zip and rebooted my phone to update (go back to stock ROM). Later my intentions were to use the vivodowngrade to get back to S-ON.
After the update I am stuck at HTC logo. What to do?

Just follow this guide.
I managed to somehow get it to the next state:
I installed a rom.zip form (RUU_Vivo_Gingerbread_S_KT_KR_2.32.1010.1_Radio_20.2810.30.085AU_3805.06.03.16_M_release_199684_signe.exe) since it has the same maiver as I had it by renaming it to PG32IMG.zip and placing it to the SD.
After "flashing" it wrote me that it is a wrong version. The result:
If I turn it off it turns on again by it self (I can't turn it off unless i bull the battery) and it displays (no ROM is started):
**** Security Warning****
VIVO PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.13.0000
RADIO-3805.06.03.16_M
eMMC-boot
...
...
...
It looks like it is S-ON - is this correct? (I might have done something wright )
Can I now try to install a RUU (RUU_VIVO_SENSE30_S_HTC_WWE_3.08.405.3_Radio_20.4802.30.0822U_3822.10.08.28_M_release_227170_signed.exe) ? or do I have to get rom.zip and the procedure on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1359555 ?
Thank you!
I tried to install via RUU and it worked
Thanks everyone for help

So got the Incredible S in the beginning of July and was very happy with it, beat the hell out of my old HD2 who got bricked Desided not to root this one cause it was already android and i didnt want to break the warranty. But then the 2.3.3 update came and i didnt recieve text and calls was dismissed. (it is an own thread about this issue on the forums) so i desided to try a rom from XDA to see if this could help solve the issue. It did not but i rooted the phone (S-off right?) and used it with GSM only.. today i talked with HTC support and got a hold of the RUU_Vivo_HTC_WWE_1.36.405.1_Radio_Radio_20.23.30.0 802U_38.02.01.11_M_release_172670_signed.. the cusomter support guy uploaded it and i installed it with the USB cable.. the installer said everything went fine.. the phone reebots.. boots to the HTC logo screen and turns off again.. and keeps on going in the same cycle..
I can get into bootloader, but when i press "power" to choose recovery it goes straight to the white htc screen again and reebots.. what to do now? Is this one dead also?
Tried rename RUU to PG32IMG and put it on the memory card.. still no luck it says "Bootloader - Bypasses"
"TP - Bypassed"
"TP - Bypassed"
Why? And still no luck tried with two signed RUU's now.. The bootloader says
Vivo PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT 6.13.1002
At least i want all the Revolutionary stuff gone.. Any idea? Im out of ideas right now.. Oh geez, it booted the 2.1.3 RUU.. nice.
But why would not the other room work? This is the one i have to get workin.. Any ideas?
Does the RUU got a radio in it? Please share this RUU cause I believe this is not avaible anywhere. I would give it a try then and report if I have issues.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda premium
Yes I think it can be a radio conflict too, perhaps you downgraded it.
Here you go Please give a report if it work on your device
I also want to gain S-ON on my Incredible, used AlphaRevX Beta to get the S-OFF but i need it to be S-ON again, and i cant really fint the information on how to do it. These forums are amazing but very hard to navigate true, and find the information you are looking for.
Was thinking... You said you are S-OFF and then installed the 1.36 RUU. Possibly this RUU or ROM needs an older bootloader. Cause the bootloader cannot be overwritten (I assume you used Alpharev), the installation is aborted.
The newer RUU accepts the current bootloader and therefore is being installed.
I think, when you first downgrade your Hboot to the one that can be overwritten, the RUU should work and you can enjoy Froyo again!
So did it work ?

How to do this? Do i need to S-ON first? Or?
Hi,
Right... um where do i start.
Won a HTC one from work. I work for Orange/EE UK and HTC was faulty. Basically major chunks of corrupted code in the stock ROM.
So i rooted it pulled the whole thing apart (software speaking) fully cleaned out the phone and started from scratch with Android HD Revolution.
Noticed the other day 4.3 was now available so i flashed new rom but it was bugging my phone out so did a full wipe and went to re-install 4.2.2 and the thing got stuck in bootloop wouldnt even get past the boot loader.
So i formatted the whole thing and started from scratch but now my twrp wont respond. touchscreen will not work. Also flashed cmw to find that the internal sdcard will not mount and is not writing any info to it even when i adb push files to it there just not actually writing to the memory.
The last creepy thing. HBOOT has blank OS tried a getvar version-main command and its blank.
Am i right in thinking that this thing is basically broke beyond repair now or is there anything ive missed. BTW im on hboot 1.54 so no s-off and my CID is ORG001 so doesnt look like theres any RUU files either.
Help would be muchos appreciated.
Thanks
Kris

you are in luck, the " fone fun shop" have just managed to achieve s-off on 1.54 boot loader.give them a call and they will sort it for you.

Are they uk or us based? And is this the java card method?
The good thing about being s-on is that it's virtually impossible to brick your phone just flashing stuff.
It sounds like you may have corrupted your sdcard partition and more. Reformat using your PC, then reflash twrp, and try adb pushing the rom again. It should just be a matter of getting the storage partition properly restored and the right software onto the phone.
Please reply

Thanks for your Time.
Can you get into recovery? If not flash twrp. You'll need an unlocked bootloader to flash a custom recovery.

Flash a custom Rom with a stock kernel. I s-off'd with Android Revolution 30. Just make sure your firmware version (mainver) matches up with the rumrunner version you downloaded.

Pretty sure that technique of "downgrading" firmware version is only meant to enable the use of RUU to restore to stock. Use the program to write back your the version your firmware actually matches, then try reflashing.
I know Orange does not have an RUU but you might want to try using this nandroid backup

Hey boss,
Well misctool only writes a variable that RUU's read from to verify your not downgrading it doesnt actually write firmware.
Plus flashing a rom will not flash firmware either.
I dont know whether your having the same problem as me but my issues came from a dirty flash which softbricked my phone. Because of this i formatted the SDcard erasimg a partition the the OSver is wrote to.
The firmware is still there just no visible because of the erase. Im currently in the process of downloading every single rumrunner firmware and flashing them till i get one to work.
Kris
ANy fix yet?
I'm having the exact same problem. Bootloader shows OS- 'Blank space'
Tried different sprint Ruu's but always gets Error 155 because of No os i guess.

it has nothing to do with the no - OS ... you just need to flash the firmware then the RUU
And your s-off no need to relock the bootloader like that

Error 155 means image error, your using the wrong RUU, as your s-off, you can flash any Sprint RUU you just need firmware first.
Missing OS number in the bootloader is a common problem due to flashing a custom recovery, its not a problem and doesn't effect the phone in anyway.
Hi there, so I'm looking to flash lollipop to my M7 but first want to verify I've taken the right steps.
Here's my phone's info:
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.56.00000
RADIO-4A.23.3263.28
OpenDSP-v32.120.274.0909
OS-4.19.631.9
eMMC-boot 2048MB
MID: PN0712000
CID: ROGER001
version-main 4.19.631.9
Now, as far as I'm aware, this is the unlocked edition of the M7. I'm hoping to use this RUU here To flash lollipop onto my phone:
RUU_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_BrightstarUS_WWE_7.17.1540.7_Radio_4T.35.3218.16_10.33Q.1718.01L_release_420191_signed_2.exe (can't post link because I just registered)
My concern is that while my phone is listed as M7_UL (m7_unlocked I gather), the CID reads "Roger001". I currently have used the phone only with Virgin Mobile in Canada (Bell Canada's network) and had no problems, but I just want to make sure this won't mess up my radio or make it unusable with my carrier.
I've also gone ahead and backed up all my data from my phone on my computer, and created a nandroid backup as well (although I'm not sure if I could even use the nandroid if things went poorly, because I think I'll be losing custom recovery right?)
Any advice or links to information I might be missing would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Also, forgot to mention, my phone is rooted and the bootloader is unlocked.

Nope it won't work, simply because you are s-on, you require 631 RUUs simple as that, you cannot flash a 1540 RUU, however if you go s-off then you can.
M7 UL mean HTC One model 7 not sure what the u stands for, but the L is with LTE support.
You would need to s-off your phone to change the cid and flash the developer firmware in order to flash the developer 1540 ruu, s-off can only be done using sunshine and will cost $25.

So if I S-Off using rumrunner then change my CID to "BS_US001" I can successfully flash the RUU?
The thought of S-Off scares me slightly, can someone confirm that there's no chance that this method will brick my device, and that I won't have any issues with the radio?

So if I S-Off using rumrunner then change my CID to "BS_US001" I can successfully flash the RUU?

Yes with s-off you'll be able to flash the firmware and then the RUU

The procedure to s-off itself is not risky, but when s-off is achieved, you'll always have to be careful what you flash. S-OFF remove protection from crucial partitions on your phone and let you flash anything you want without verification. So if you flash something not compatible with your phone, you can brick it.

You'll be fine using dev edition on Canadian carriers. I have personally tested on Fido, Rogers, Telus and Koodo. Should work too on Bell/Virgin.

Great, thanks! In terms of what's compatible, is it pretty much just using common sense, i.e. not flashing a rom meant for the M8 or some other phone, or are there more things that could make something incompatible that I would need to learn about in the future?
Also, the ROM I posted here and intend to flash, it's for sure compatible? Sorry I know I'm probably being a bit overcautious

Yes its safe to use that ruu on your phone.
TO avoid potential brick, always make sure you flash files for
M7_U or M7_UL variant. Files for other variants (e.g M7WLS will brick your phone)
Do not try to flash roms for other phones. We often see ppl bricking their M7 because they have mistakenly flashed an HTC Droid DNA rom on it.
Check MD5 values on your download to make sure your files are not corrupted before flashing <--- important!
Ask questions if you are not sure of the file you want to flash.
---------- Post added at 06:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:09 PM ----------
and if you want to update your firmware, very important:
use a full firmware package
if using firmware package from ota files, they must be flashed incrementally.

Sorry, one final question. Do I understand you correctly that I need to first flash a new firmware for my phone before using the RUU? If so where would I find this? I originally thought that the RUU would update the firmware for me.

You normally need to be on 6.xx.xxx.x or 7.xx.xxx.x firmware to use the 7.xx.xxx.x RUU. You can try to use it but im pretty sure the ruu will stop at 5% (checking headers). If so, you must flash the firmware first. You can use the 6.07.1540.2 firmware posted in my thread.
Hi Guys,
1. I'm on S-ON with hboot 1.57 - is there currently any free way to S-OFF the phone or is it Sunshine only?
2. The roms here: http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-rom-downloads/ - Can I flash an appropriate one when I'm on S-ON with my hboot at 1.57, or would I need to go S-OFF.
I basically want to flash to stock to fix a blank IMEI, baseband and OS / firmware... I also want to update the firmware so I can safely use the Viper ROM... I've currently got it installed now and it looks ok, minus the fact half the phone's info is blank and I can't make a call I'm assuming flashing to stock will fix this.
Thanks guys!

no
these are old roms (your phone is running a recent firmware) but yes it can be flashed with s-on
You already have another thread for the same topic why creating another one?
Thanks Alray - I really just wanted to know if it was possible to S-OFF on 1.57 without having to spend the $25 - I thought that was pretty specific and aside from the issues with my phone, hence the new thread
I'm downloading the files now and will likely S-OFF later on, thank you!
Hello guys! Ive been reading you all for a couple days now because i bought myself an used HTC One M7 from AT&T. Now, as soon as i got it i saw it was running android 4.1.2 and i can't live with that. I found a way to update it thru RUU up to 4.3 (before, i S-OFF and SuperCIDed) and now i'm trying to run a 4.4 RUU but it doesnt seem to work. It keeps on getting stuck at 5% even when ive followed some people comments as installing all versions of windows Visual C++, disabling usb debugging, also ive relocked bootloader because of it but nothing seems to work.
HBOOT: 1.55

Do any of you guys know how to proceed?
My goal is to get Lollipop STOCK.
Thank you!
If i remember correct u cant install a ruu while you are s-off, but the easiest way to update your device would be just flash twrp and than install a newer backup from here (in the forum you can find every Stock System as a twrp backup).

Thank you very much for your quick answer. I have applied the 4.3 RUU while being S-OFF, but i think ive read the same as you... Now, is that possible? I mean, just restoring a nandroid backup to update to 4.4 then to lolli? I mean i am not that noob regarding messing with phones but HTC ones are too darn complicated haha @saturday_night

Sure it is possible, i always did the same until HTC stoped updating this device. It is the esiest way to install Stock updates while you have done changes to the system and OTA Updates dont work. You can if, you want to, also install a MM or a N Rom (N Roms are still in development and not bug free) i´m using XenonHD (7.1) at the moment and looks really stable, just flashing the latest update from today now haha.
OMG thats so awesome! It looks like a silly thing but theres too much information around this forums and everything is so messy, even more for a someone whos not an english native speaker haha since im new to this device (i had one in 2014 for like a month but forgot everything i did to it) i just want to get it to the top it can be to try out sense 6 and all its features then ill be messing with it much more. Now that you're here and you're too kind would you recommend a lollipop rom that you liked the best? ill be trying MM but in a week or two when i get bored of these! @saturday_night

I just read that you dont need to be S-On to flash a ruu, just the bootloader must be relocked. You can easily download the first file in this thread and follow the instructions there in the first post and you should be done. http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/lollipop-ruu-zip-small-collection-t3053944

You can flash RUUs with s-off without any problems, and you don't have to relock your bootloader. That is obligatory only for s-on devices. Why don't you download RUU.zip instead of RUU.exe, and flash it via fastboot?
Edit: Sorry, wrong post quoted, but everything applies to OP

I believe I am not? That's lolli update and as far as I know I should be going by steps because of the hboot. I'm now on 3.x firmware, I shall go to 4 then 5 and then I can go all up to 7 isn't it? That's why i was so surprised regarding the nandroid information you gave me.

Well as said in other posts information is too messy with discontinued guides and stuff and I just find hard to do anything without compromising my phone just because of messy information but sure I will if I can't find any other solution to this matter I just hate downloading big files since my net speed goes up to 200kb/s lol

To flash RUU or Firmware on a S-ON phone:
Bootloader must be locked or re-locked
RUU or Firmware must be signed (Official ruu or firmware)
To flash RUU or Firmware on a S-OFF phone:
Bootloader locked/unlocked doesn't matter
RUU or Firmware can be signed or not (custom firmware/ruu or official firmware/ruu)
the "incremental way"to update apply only if you're flashing firmware.zip extracted from an ota update
If flashing a RUU you don't need to flash them all incrementally, just the latest one
BUT
to install a lollipop RUU, your phone must be running at least hboot 1.57 (firmware 6.xx.xxx.x) (there was no requirements of this kind before lollipop)
Since your phone is S-OFF, you could simply update your firmware to at least 6.xx.xxx.x and then flash the latest RUU (7.xx.xxx.xx)
And time to convert to another version if you don't care about the at&t bloatware (i.e developer edition which is basically the exact same rom as at&t minus the at&t' bloat)
Make sure to flash a complete firmware.zip (not one from an ota update) if you're going to do this.
btw +1 for using fastboot instead of ruu.exe. At least when someting goes wrong during the process, you can have some detailed info about the problem unlike when using an ruu.exe where you'll only get a generic error code.

Thank you very much for your quick answer! I understand that now very well, thanks! Now just another question before i proceed.... I know i have to upgrade my firmware up to 6.x in order to flash the RUU but my doubt comes to finding the 'complete firmware.zip ( not one from an ota update)' Ive found something done by mike1986 but there are no firmwares for 502 (AT&T/Cingular) devices. Else than that i just found pieces of firmware that just weight 20-30mb and i don't think thats what you mean... Also have found just lollipop ones like the one on your signature. I don't like to be begging for links but i can't seem to find it even on htc1guru.. Thank you very much and have a great day! @alray

You can use this one, its not .502, its .1540. It does not really matters since after that you'll be flashing the RUU and the firmware will be updated again to match the RUU.
If you don't want at&t bloatware you should flash the 7.17.1540.51 ruu, you can find it on htc's wesbite (google search for "HTC rom download", the first link should be the right one). Otherwise if you really want the at&t version, flash the last one from at&t.
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip Firmware_6.07.1540.2.zip
fastboot flash zip Firmware_6.07.1540.2.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
(flash command must be done twice)
then launch your ruu.exe or if you'll be using a ruu.zip:
Code:
fastboot oemrebootRUU
htc_fastboot flash zip <filename>.zip
fastboot reboot
(flash command to be done only once and using htc_fastboot.exe not the normal fastboot.exe)
