Keyboard hacks? - Motorola Droid 4

Are there any software hacks available for the physical keyboard, e.g. double clicking a key equals shift+key press etc.?

Map keyboard (a) button to a hardware button

Is it possible to map one of the hardware buttons on the face of the Tilt to input a keyboard letter or the space key?

hardware button keymap in specific application

hello!
Is there any program, that can map hardware key to do a different thing in a specific application.
For example - when pressed hardware button UP, it acts as a hardwre button "5" in one application, and a "*" in another application. If none applications are being run, the UP button does the up movement.
The button changes its mapping, depending on a application.
Thanks

Keyboard

Is there a particular way to use the slide out keyboard? I find that when the key top part of the key is pressed, it might not register the input. However, if I press the bottom part of the key, the input will register. This is most evident with the C, Space bar and Back Space keys. Is there something wrong with my keyboard?

[Q] Can the hardware keys be redefined on the Droid 3?

After downloading and playing with a basic vt100 terminal emulator I soon noticed that there is no ctrl key on the hardware keyboard. In order to get a ctrl-c, for example, I have to press and release the volume lowering button to get "ctrl" and then the "c". This is very awkard. Especially with the keyboard fully extended! I later downloaded the hackers keyboard which has a ctrl key but it was not working at the time and I have reported it as a bug. Regardless, I would like the option to use the hwkb to do this. Perhaps this is premature as we don't have root yet, but is there a way to define say alt-shift, or the "ok" key or what ever to be ctrl. Also, while it is nice to have a fifth row of keys with numbers, I would think that these keys should have other functions too. Whatever one likes, i.e. alt 1 for F1 and so forth.
It is possible, there are apps in the Market, or you could hard code it into a ROM, but all of this requires root to my best knowledge, unless we have that I do not believe it is possible, but would be great if root wasn't needed, so if someone knows more hopefully they can let you know, but that's what I know.
search for Button Remapper, it is also on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850464

[Q] Keyboard in Messaging displays Emoticons instead of Enter key

I've recently bought a Moto G, and whilst playing around with the Keyboard in Messaging, finding everything (particularly punctuation, the keyboard on my HTC Desire S had punctuation on the long presses of keys) I changed the "Enter" key to the "Emoticons" key, and now I can't change it back. In other apps, like Twitter and Facebook the "Enter" key takes precedence over the "Emoticons", and I can switch between them with long presses. However in Messaging this key is now firmly set to "Emoticons" no matter how long I press the key down for.
Can I undo this change and if so, how?
