can i update my p1000 into 4.0.4 ics CM9 nightly build.im using overcome 7 no wipe now i have a CMW recovery.can i flash the cm9 nightly using nowipe instead of using GBstock? pls tell me i want to upgrade my tab..

No. You will lose all your data.
Backup using Titanium Backup and then flash cm9 and gapps.
In fact, you better wipe everything.

but can i use overcome 7 no wipe after i backup all of may data

I have replied to you previously in detailed steps. Overcome wipe or no wipe is the same stuff.
Yes. No need to restock. Backup and copy your internal SD content to somewhere safe, in the PC or something.
Boot to cwm and do all wipes.
Then flash cm9 then gapps.

what do you mean about gapps im confusing about gapps? sory im noob about using cmw...sorry

A collection of Google apps, such as Play store , Google finance, etc.
Just download it and put in sdcard

Gapps stand for google apps gmail, play store, etc when you flash cm9, the first thing you notice will be there is no gmail or play store if you do not flash the gapps

overcome 7 is on ext4 file system, therefore you can flash mtd file system ICS roms without restocking. when installing ICS ROM through flashing and loops occur, just press the volume up button until you are back on the cmw menu, then flash ICS ROM again.

brother tnxs for helping me....god bless u

perhaps hitting the thanks button will do!
oh and do keep me posted wheter you've flashed it successfully.

Brother do you a theme for. Nightly build cm9 ics..?

im on criseklo rom and on notecore 10.6 kernel, and i did this without uaing a bloody pc nor a wifi, i wanna try cm9 since its highly customizable, is there any possibility i can revert to gb rom and kernel to flash cm9 roms without a pc,

As you are on a safe kernel just download cm9 and gapps put it into your sd card, reboot to recovery (cwn) wipe data/cache /dalvik cache flash cm9, then go to advanced options and reboot recovery once rebooted flash gapps and reboot system.. That's it no need to go back to gb

You can use Mobile ODIN Pro for the same. It does the job and doesn't cause Triangle on boot and doesn't cause count.
Just download GB Rom from dr ketans thread or www.sammobile.com and put it in your SD Card.
Open Mobile Odin.
Select the file in the column Open the file.
And Start Flashing. Remember to check for md5 checksum before flashing if it asks and Wipe Dalvik/Cache.
Done
Now you have Stock GB Rom on your Note.
Or
You can use Abyss Redpill Recovery Original Logo.(Reboot into CWM and flash Abyss 4.2)
Reboot Recovery
Now Full Wipe.
Flash cm9
Flash Gapps
Reboot System

Since you are on Custom ICS Rom its safe to wipe but Using Abyss 4.2 is the best way to install cm9. I have installed cm9 from safe kernel with ICS but does not recommend you as this will mess up (probably) .
Read if this can help you
For switching your existing ROM to GB ROM
here some modification
Download Prerooted ROM
and flash using Movile odin Pro
Here is guide how to use Mobile odin
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816158
Note : You need not to change kernel in step mentioned above guide
Go directly from where you are without doing anything.
At end you will have Rooted GB ROM + CWM without using PC Odin.
Guys is ok now to flash CM9 while in ics??? The last time i heard its dangerous.

It is still dangerous in that it's a sure brick. Need to install gb kernel with cwm to perform cm flashes, goes for cm10 also.

It isn't difficult
1 Nandroid Backup (If things go wrong, you should do a backup 4 contacts, messages and apps too)
2 Wipe data, Cache, Dalvik cache and in Mount erase system
3 Flash cm9's Zip for your device
4 Then flash CM9's Gapps that you can find in your rom thread or on wikipedia
5 Meanwhile you''ll attend that the process will finish, make a coffe
6 Reboot without SD if you don't have a Data Plan
7 Enjoy with CM9

Can't flash any other ROM

I have oat's CM10 installed but want to flash CM9 to use adobe flash. Whenever I try to install a CM9 ROM, I get stuck in an endless boot loop when I try to load it. I have tried the newest CM9 nightly and SGA's fat n creamy, and both get stuck in an endless boot loop. Here is what I do exactly:
Open TWRP, wipe system, cache, and dalvik, install ROM, install GAPPS, reboot.
Then it gets stuck in an endless boot loop.
Not sure if it matters, but every ROM I install (including CM10) can't find an MD5 file. Is this important? It doesn't seem to matter with CM10.

I would try wiping data as well.
Just install this version of flash on CM10:

I got it from here:

Works on Jelly Bean.

[Q] galaxy tab p1000 overcome v4.0.0 not rooted

i have a galaxy tab p1000 v/ gingerbread 2.3.3. i followed the instructions on installing the GB-Stock-Safe-v5.zip and Overcome v4.0.0 kernel using heimdall utility. After a couple of tries, i was able to get the kernel to install and things are working fine. I thought Overcome v4.0.0 kernel install will give me root access but apparently not. Can i run the doomsLord v4 rooting toolkit to root this or not? I dont' want to mess it up again and redo the entire install process to fix again. Also, i downloaded the clockworkmod app from the google store but it doesn't support the p1000. How and where do i obtain custom roms and install on this device? can i download cyanogenmod custom rom, put it in the sd card and boot to recovery and run install? Not sure since i now have the Overcome v4.0.0 kernel, i can't install any of these roms? i've never used custom roms so no sure what can and cannot be done. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You can install overcome ROM 4.1 (not just the kernel)
If you want, it is rooted, you can follow my signature.
But overcome kernel 4.0 is what gives you cwm recovery. That is the recovery you can use to install cyanogenmod or any custom ROM.
Just read their respective instructions.
Ask again if you are stuck.

hi, from the link you sent, i see a couple of overcome 7 series v4.1 , which one can i use that won't mess up what i currently have? also, are you saying after installing one of these, it'll also root the tab? i'd like to remove some apps like 'Pulse' and the Office software on this device. Thanks again.
I always use the no wipe version.
You can always wipe data manually from cwm if needed.
But always make a habit of wiping cache and dalvik cache when changing ROM/kernel.
Yes, when you install rooted ROM, you have root.
I don't think pulse is built in. You can uninstall from Play market.
But if you can't remove, learn how to use Titanium Backup to uninstall apps.
You don't seem like a person who needs root.....

hi, sorry i'm not an expert on this so i'm bugging you again. So my p1000 tab has firmware 2.3.3 , kernel 2.6.35.7 Overcome-v4.0.0 #40. You mentioned i can install ROM 4.1 . I see in your list Overcome_7_Series_v4.1.0_NoWipe.zip. To update to that, do i just copy it to my internal SD, fire up CWM Recovery and go thru the 'install menu, choose zip from internal sd' , select this zip file and update? Or i can't do it that way?
that is the right way.

From overcome to cm11

Hi,
I need your help please. My tablet p1000 was softbricket and i used the whole Installation guide of overcome to get stock gingerbread on my tablet. It works fine but i want to use again cm11 on my tablet. The recovery is also overcome. Now my answer.
What do i have to do know to install cm11 on my p1000?
Thank you.
Hamburgo8855
Just grab cm11, and the correct gapps. Put them in your external sdcard
Boot to recovery and flash cm11, to be safe flash it 3 times.
Then flash gapps.
Then boot to the new ROM.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA Free mobile app
I tried this way, not 3 times but the installation aborted. And after this, it did not start the overcome recovery but the old recovery cwm that was installed on the tablet befor i installed overcome.
You are doing it wrong.
Firstly there is no older cwm.
The gb stock safe v5 is having stock recovery.
Once you flash overcome kernel you get cwm5.
You use it to flash cm11 3 times. Without wiping or rebooting in between.
Then flash gapps. Only then you reboot.

Hallo priyana,
Do I have to make a full wipe before flashing cm 11 3 times? Or just go to the recovery and install the cm11 3 times and after this flashing the gapps?
Thx
Hamburgo8855
No harm to do full wipe.
