Hi,
I need your help please. My tablet p1000 was softbricket and i used the whole Installation guide of overcome to get stock gingerbread on my tablet. It works fine but i want to use again cm11 on my tablet. The recovery is also overcome. Now my answer.
What do i have to do know to install cm11 on my p1000?
Thank you.
Hamburgo8855
Just grab cm11, and the correct gapps. Put them in your external sdcard
Boot to recovery and flash cm11, to be safe flash it 3 times.
Then flash gapps.
Then boot to the new ROM.

I tried this way, not 3 times but the installation aborted. And after this, it did not start the overcome recovery but the old recovery cwm that was installed on the tablet befor i installed overcome.
You are doing it wrong.
Firstly there is no older cwm.
The gb stock safe v5 is having stock recovery.
Once you flash overcome kernel you get cwm5.
You use it to flash cm11 3 times. Without wiping or rebooting in between.
Then flash gapps. Only then you reboot.

Hallo priyana,
Do I have to make a full wipe before flashing cm 11 3 times? Or just go to the recovery and install the cm11 3 times and after this flashing the gapps?
Thx
Hamburgo8855
No harm to do full wipe.

As you are on a safe kernel just download cm9 and gapps put it into your sd card, reboot to recovery (cwn) wipe data/cache /dalvik cache flash cm9, then go to advanced options and reboot recovery once rebooted flash gapps and reboot system.. That's it no need to go back to gb

You can use Mobile ODIN Pro for the same. It does the job and doesn't cause Triangle on boot and doesn't cause count.
Just download GB Rom from dr ketans thread or www.sammobile.com and put it in your SD Card.
Open Mobile Odin.
Select the file in the column Open the file.
And Start Flashing. Remember to check for md5 checksum before flashing if it asks and Wipe Dalvik/Cache.
Done
Now you have Stock GB Rom on your Note.
Or
You can use Abyss Redpill Recovery Original Logo.(Reboot into CWM and flash Abyss 4.2)
Reboot Recovery
Now Full Wipe.
Flash cm9
Flash Gapps
Reboot System

Since you are on Custom ICS Rom its safe to wipe but Using Abyss 4.2 is the best way to install cm9. I have installed cm9 from safe kernel with ICS but does not recommend you as this will mess up (probably) .
Read if this can help you
For switching your existing ROM to GB ROM
here some modification
Download Prerooted ROM
and flash using Movile odin Pro
Here is guide how to use Mobile odin
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816158
Note : You need not to change kernel in step mentioned above guide
Go directly from where you are without doing anything.
At end you will have Rooted GB ROM + CWM without using PC Odin.

Dear all.. please help! I was originally from the official CM10 nightly, but I found it was too slow. So I decided to revert back to Gingerbread AOSP (Cyanogenmod Future 7.2)
1) I installed as per normal, from CWM recovery, flash ROM, flash GAPPS, wipe data, cache and dalvik. I managed to enter until the ROM setup screen, where I was supposed to click on the Android logo, but everytime I did that, it always showed error with setup wizard..
2) So I went back to ROM installation instructions and saw that I was supposed to format system in CWM recovery. I did exactly that, but afterwards it was downhill.. i could not even go past the bootlogo (the galaxy tab 7 logo)...
3) afterwards I tried using format sdcard from CWM recovery, no change.
4) I tried to flash stock p1000 rom by ODIN, with repartition UNCHECKED --- it looked hopeful, i went past the SGT7 boot logo into the samsung logo.. but it was stuck there..
5) I tried flasing stock p1000 rom by ODIN, this time with repartition CHECKED --- no change...
I would really appreciate it someone could help me how I could recover my phone. When I flashed the stock samsung ROM, i lost CWM recovery also.. now I am on default recovery from Samsung.
Please help! Thanks a lot...
Use overcome method. See my signature.
Download the PDF guide and follow to the letter from page 7 to use Odin to restock.
The flash overcome kernel to get CWM, don't need to flash Overcome ROM itself.
Flash your CM7 instead.

I've tried to restock my tab many times with teamovercome guide, and then I got CWM 3 but it can't flash any of my roms. It always say assert failed, get.prob .... (status 7)
I understand that the cause is from the old version of CWM, so I tried to flash AOKB Kanged Gummy kernel which has CWM recovery 6. in it. So the CWM 6 can flash my desired roms easily. But the problem keep happen again, after I flash that kernel and install my rom, the tab keep rebooting to the CWM recovery instead of OS.
So i tri to find other kernel which has CWM > 6 but none of that exist, I I'm really frustrated right now :crying: please someone help me. Thanks a lot
Dnt knw much about Samsung but if u had made a nandroid back up restore it from recovery ... Or try to flash the stock Rom for ur tab with stock kernal n stock firmware..

The problem is after i use cwm 6 it keep restart to the cwm 6 i don't know how to force it to boot to the OS it just stuck at the CWM recovery each time i reboot

If you follow overcome method to the letter (from page 7 of the guide, skip the rooting and bootloader patach and backup, etc), I guarantee you a CWM that is good to install CM9, CM10, Sapir, AOKP, Paranoid, etc, etc, etc..
Been doing it for over 100 times if you count those done by those who asked and I replied to.
One thing to remember, when you flash CM10, it first upgrades your kernel/CWM to CWM 6.0
so it seems to reboot to CWM but it isn't
It is a normal bootloop.
You need to flash the ROM zip at least 3 times to get the process going progressively.
First round, CWM upgrade, second round, BML to MTD conversion, and 3rd round ROM install.
You just have to read the message on the screen when it scrolls, don't just assume you get a bootloops and meaning it doesn't do a thing.

No no, i read but my problem is when i follow your signature's link to the guide until I install the Overcome 7 4.1.0, but the recovery said that "can't open, ... the rom bad" so I try to flash custom rom like CM9, and it say assert failed (status 7) all the time I try to flash. The bootloop is not here
So i flash a kernel called "Kanged Gummy p1" which has CwM 6, this is when the bootloop problem occur. So I think my solution now is the new kernel which has Cwm 6

So are you sure this is compatible with GT-P1000, it's Galaxy Nexus.
Search : How to flash ClockworkMod Recovery for the Galaxy Tab P1000 via androidauthority
- You need to run on original stock & just flash back to orginal stock rom..
- You need to run Clockworkmod 5
P/S, why you play around custom ROM on unsupported device? daaa
You didn't follow correctly.
After GB stock safe v5, if you flash overcome kernel 4.0 tar via odin, then boot to cwm 5, and flash cm, impossible to get assert failure.

I don't know why, my GT-p1 may have been damaged lately or sth, I followed step to step that guide, then i boot to cwm 5 and flash this -> Overcome_7_Series_v4.1.0_NoWipe.zip Mediafire <-- but it say "can't open the .."directory of the file"... the rom is bad ..."
So I didn't follow it, I flash cm9.0.0 stable rls and get "assert failed ... status 7"
My tab may be different somehow cause I have tried many method but it get error unlike the instruction
So I think I just need cwm 6 kernel individually to flash, could you help me

maybe the overcome rom is bad, but i'm still able to flash cm9 it with cwm 6 via kernel called Kanged Gummy from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1747128 . But error and error occur again. U see, though I flash it successfully with Cwm 6. but i got cwm recovery bootloop too bad.
any update on this.
Using GT-P3100 via XDA Premium
CWM3 = chainfire kernel
CWM5 = voodoo kernel
CWM6 = AOSP and AOKP kernel thats mean CM9/10 and parandroid
Until now theres "no release" kernel with CWM6 for stock/custom rom but its easy for kernel dev like humberos to add that on stock kernel..

Galaxy Mini running Android version 2.3.5 (Gingerbread)
How do I install this CM10.1 ROM on my phone?
I've rooted + flashed ROMs before on my i9100 but it appears the Galaxy Mini process is much different. Help is greatly appreciated!
Does the Mini have to be rooted prior to installing CWM or custom ROMs?
As far as I know I simply plug my phone into computer, download a CWM file and flash it to phone with Odin. Then I drag the CM10.1 zip file onto the phone and using the CWM recovery menu, flash the ROM?
Thank you in advance

I don't understand what you are meaning here. I asked in my original post the instructions for flashing CM10 onto my Galaxy Mini and whether or not the steps I outlined above are correct or if I am missing something.
Ya thats right, but u before must do hard reset, cache and dalvik wipe but i think u already knew that

First root it , then flash cwm tar file in odin as one package , and thej you can put custom rom on sd and go to cwm recovery wipe cache/data and cache partitation. Then just install the rom zip and there you go.
If you dislike the rom just flash another and if your tired off custom roms flash back stock rom

Dude ! It's already solved ! Read the OP !
i have a galaxy tab p1000 v/ gingerbread 2.3.3. i followed the instructions on installing the GB-Stock-Safe-v5.zip and Overcome v4.0.0 kernel using heimdall utility. After a couple of tries, i was able to get the kernel to install and things are working fine. I thought Overcome v4.0.0 kernel install will give me root access but apparently not. Can i run the doomsLord v4 rooting toolkit to root this or not? I dont' want to mess it up again and redo the entire install process to fix again. Also, i downloaded the clockworkmod app from the google store but it doesn't support the p1000. How and where do i obtain custom roms and install on this device? can i download cyanogenmod custom rom, put it in the sd card and boot to recovery and run install? Not sure since i now have the Overcome v4.0.0 kernel, i can't install any of these roms? i've never used custom roms so no sure what can and cannot be done. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You can install overcome ROM 4.1 (not just the kernel)
If you want, it is rooted, you can follow my signature.
But overcome kernel 4.0 is what gives you cwm recovery. That is the recovery you can use to install cyanogenmod or any custom ROM.
Just read their respective instructions.
Ask again if you are stuck.

hi, from the link you sent, i see a couple of overcome 7 series v4.1 , which one can i use that won't mess up what i currently have? also, are you saying after installing one of these, it'll also root the tab? i'd like to remove some apps like 'Pulse' and the Office software on this device. Thanks again.
I always use the no wipe version.
You can always wipe data manually from cwm if needed.
But always make a habit of wiping cache and dalvik cache when changing ROM/kernel.
Yes, when you install rooted ROM, you have root.
I don't think pulse is built in. You can uninstall from Play market.
But if you can't remove, learn how to use Titanium Backup to uninstall apps.
You don't seem like a person who needs root.....

hi, sorry i'm not an expert on this so i'm bugging you again. So my p1000 tab has firmware 2.3.3 , kernel 2.6.35.7 Overcome-v4.0.0 #40. You mentioned i can install ROM 4.1 . I see in your list Overcome_7_Series_v4.1.0_NoWipe.zip. To update to that, do i just copy it to my internal SD, fire up CWM Recovery and go thru the 'install menu, choose zip from internal sd' , select this zip file and update? Or i can't do it that way?
that is the right way.
