As it says on the OP of the Rom:
Installation:
Rom No Wipe. Flash via CWM JUST after flashing new boot http://www.multiupload.nl/PXXEHFT21J
after as always:
So i suppose that before flashing Alba you have to flash the new bootloade again.
That what i would do just to be sure!
Hope that helped bro!

You are not 100% safe. However if you follow the instruction on their website, the chance that you have a problem is small.
a) coming from a rooted GB-ROM:
- download Abyss Kernel 4.2 from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?c65mndvpk6ocbaa
- put zip-file on your USB-storage
- boot in Recovery
- Flash Abyss Kernel 4.2!!!
- boot back in recovery (you find this option under 'advanced')
- FullWipe
- Flash ROM
- reboot system
- ...you are done
I flash many ICS rom using this procedure and I have no problem so far.

[Q] help to downgrade to GB

I have galaxy note with officially ics updated. i wish to downgrade to gb without any brick( hardbrick or superbrick). which is the safest mode to flash gb over ics. pc odin(with pre-rooted stock gb rom) or cwm with safest ics kernal (custom gb rom) ..
In my opinion, the best way is to use this guide by dr. Ketan:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
1. Download correct directly rootable rom from that thread.
2. Flash it via PC Odin.
3. Reboot into recovery.
4. Wipe, clear cache, boot your device ( after flashing GB, not on ICS )
5. Root and install CWM using ZergRush automated installer.
Never had any problems with this method, while flashing pre-rooted roms caused a few glitches.
it is must to choose non-wipe gb stock rom, am i correct ?

[Q] flash ICS I have GB CWM zip installed steps to take

I flashed gingerbread and rooted my note a long time ago using dr.ketan method and now i want to flash a custom ICS with all the bloatware removed,
Ive forgotten the procedure now as its been so long, basically im worried about the unsafe kernels and also now ive read about the CWM.zip not being safe I have CWM installed on mine as well as HC-kTool, can some kind soul show me the steps to get a safe ICS running?
ive listed all the info below
many thanks
to root i used - DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su
android version 2.3.6
PDA:N7000XXLA6
PHONE:N7000XXLA4
CSC:N7000XEULA1
KERNAL: 2.6.35.7-N7000XXKKA-CL726566

All gb kernels are safe to flash
So you can simply do all wipes and flash a custom ics rom
If you flash stock ics rom, then you need to flash a safe kernel. All stock ics kernels are unsafe to wipe

Need some clarification , hardbrickbug JB?

Hi. I am new into flashing in Android and considering of flashing to another rom , sweet rom to be exact. But there's this hard brick bug that is preventing me to do so. I am currently on Stock Jelly bean and it's too laggy , that's the reason why i wanted to flash to another Rom.
Anyway , is the JB kernel still not safe? As shown in the thread of sweet rom , it states there i would just have to flash my current stock kernel to Philz JB Kernel , to proceed into wipe. Some of the instructions are so foreign to me. Is the risk there? Also , i tried Chainfire's gotbrickbug app and it states i do have. That's why i am afraid into further flashing before i get some more information since i am still a newbie!
Thanks in advance bros!
hi,
asfar as i know you just have to flash a safe kernel
(i prefer K5-5: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2181599 - touristinparadise.blogspot.de/2013/03/samsung-galaxy-note-jb-download.html) trough odin.
after flashing you have the CWM, from there you can flash every ROM you want
I rooted on ICS 4.0.4 with CWM.zip x) not recommended because the kernel isnt safe (?), but it worked for me

Hmm , SweetROM instructions states to flash Philz JB kernel before wiping and then flashing? Sorry man , i'm quite a bit confused!
you can flash any safe kernel first,, philz or speedmod or hydracore.. as when you install the new rom.. it will replace the kernel with its own
