I keep having to flash my backup because every time I flash a script or have to force reboot my phone, when the phone boots everything force closes and the phone is totally unusable. Any help on how to solve this would be very much appreciated :thumbup::banghead:

I've tried that mate. I've deleted all backups and done fresh installs of a few different roms, but to no avail. It's got to the point that I have to keep updating my backups because the phone becomes unusable so often

If nothing helps then you can try this as the last option. You can reflash your firmware via Odin then custom recovery after rooting your phone and finally the custom rom you are using.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'm gonna have take your advice and try this as a last resort. It's got to the point that I'm afraid to reboot in case it happens again.

How exactly you perform clean install? And what scripts you flash?
Try going back to a stock ROM release, then flash CWM via ODIN and from there, a rom of your choice

I flashed SlaidyBoostV2.3, it made my phone completely unusable. I flashed the Beats script too, and that had the same effect.
I perform a clean install by wiping data and cache/dalvik. Then I flash the rom and repeat the wiping process. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm having trouble getting the stock firmware for my phone. It says the firmware is for SIM unlocked phones, and my phone is locked to one network. Looks like I'm gonna have to get my phone unlocked. I'll do this as a last resort if I can't find a solution.

I've tried reflashing, and even downloading onto my computer copying it to my card and trying to install through recovery and get stuck in bootloop. Ive deleted old mods from the download folder and Ive also tried different nightlies and have the same problem. Any help is appreciated

..and you've done the basic clearing your caches, data and dalvik? You may want to try a fac reset. That fixes a lot of problems sometimes
.. for the future you should post in the cm7 q&a's. Even if it is a nightly
Yeah, Ive done the wipes and caches. I guess I'll try fac reset. Thank you for the help

I know, my friends think I'm crazy. So I'm thinking I could flash back to stock and then start over? So, to do this I need to flash the stock Rom using Odin with repartitioning, correct? I'm assuming I can't use Odin jf6 one click because it doesn't repartition, or does it?

Yeah.. Odin one click JF6 does the repartition. I've flash back to stock a few times using that method and the last time being just a couple weeks ago. That is about your best bet. Odin back to stock.. get cwm and flash nightly. Its gotta stick then... you'd think

Hi xda community. I'll try to explain exactly what I did and what's happening.
I flashed Cyanogenmod and everything went fine. As the latest Nighty became available, I downloaded it and tried to apply the update. I'm using Philz Touch as recovery. The update process started as usual, but then it stopped when it was almost done. I rebooted recovery and it begun again to install the update without success at all.
I've opened Odin and tried to re flash the recovery, hopping that I would be able to get to the normal Philz Touch recovery and it started (again) the update process.
I've ticked NANDROID full wipe and flashed the recovery again and I got the recovery menu. I performed a Nandroid restore, and recovery couldn't mount the /data partition.
I've realized that the /efs partition wasn't mounted. I manually mounted it and Nandroid backup successfully restored everything.
Ripper ROM (Samsung Based) booted up well, and I had to flash a modem since I didn't have signal. I thought everything was fine. But now as soon as I install a new ROM (either Sammy Based or AOSP) I lose my IMEI and get in Factory Mode.
I've tried restoring efs from backup and it didn't work. The only way I get it to work is restoring from Nandroid backup.
Can anybody help me please?

Does Ripper Rom use Perseus kernel perhaps? If so, join us over here.

Yeah, I'm running that kernel...is that perhaps what's causing the problem with the /efs partition?
Edit: tried to flash another kernel and got no signal but as long as I flash Perseus it works!
Why is this happening???

Just out of curiosity, what happens if you install a non-Perseus kernel?
Hi guys,
so I was trying to sell my SGS i9000 and I failed. Why? Because I kept getting 'Unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped'. I tried everything I could find, clearing particular caches, wiping overall cache and dalvik, factory reset, even reflashed the ROM. Nothing has changed.
I believe it has something to do with the thing that I had accidentaly deleted 'media' folder (actually, cut it and pasted on the desktop, so I copied it back right away). Now the gallery doesn't work, the camera just as well and overall system can't boot every time. (If I press and hold the power button, it starts booting and gets stuck at Slim logo, but when I take the battery out after getting stuck, it boots just fine).
Are there any other solutions?
I'm on Slim Bean official build 7. Not sure which Sema kernel they've used, because I can't download or install anything as well.

Hi everyone!
I'm still a newbie arround here, so i will have to tell you all the steps i did until i got the problem.
So i did the following: I have stock rom (4.0.4) and BaseBand, i've rooted the phone using NVFlash method (using All-in-One Toolkit by SpyrosK) and i've replaced the Stock ICS BootLoader also using the AIO Toolkit. The phone was working great and all but after some weeks it started getting slow and i though about doing a factory recovery. So I tried the backup normally. Went to the menu then settings> backup and reset> factory data reset. After the reboot the normal LG logo showed and then the following: "Unfortunatly, the process com.android.phone has stopped" and behind this text box it has: "Encryptation unsuccessful
Encryptation was interrupted and can't complete. As a result, the data on your phone is no longer accessible. To resume using your phone, you must perform a factory reset[...]" and it has a reset phone button but i can't acess it because the text window is on top.
After I got this I tough about giving a try to CWM(v6.0.2.5) recovery. So i tried the following: wipe cache partition, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache and fix permissions and tried the reboot but the same problem still persists...
Can anyone help me? This doesn't seem like a brick to me and it was supposed to be a factory reset but isn't correctly working. What can I do to fix this?
Tell me if you have any question or if you need a picture of the screen i get when i boot the phone. Than you very much.
Edit: Already tried to change my recovery image, still have the same problem...Was thinking in installing the stock rom again via CWM. Is it a good ideia? Will it fix?
In CWM there is a factory reset too (something like wipe data/factory reset). That should do the trick (but I'm afraid you'll have to set up from scratch again). Otherwise you'll have to wipe everything (including format /system) and flash the ROM again...

I am sorry to hear. Why don't you try flashing another ROM, just to test? For example pengus' CM10 equivalent http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2058231? It is very stable. Remember to update to last Kowalski kernel (by flashing after flash of ROM). May I suggest M1 norh (without ram hack)...
PS You need to be on new bootloader - see instructions in thread. If you have problems with the CM10 camera, you can flash CM10v3 by feav http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2163473

Was probably this! When i wrote the reply i tried using the option of replacing the Stock locked to the new one and this did not fixed.
So after i tried the option "Repartition your device with preferred layout and bootloader. Had to get another rom after and got the stock rom again, but i'll give a try to the one oneearleft suggested. Thank you very much. I've learned a lot with this!
Cheerz and keep up the good work!
Is there a proper way to install roms? Okay let me refrase that... I dont think ive flash twrp correctly because whenever i install a custom rom it doesnt boot. Ive wiped and full wipe before flashing and even tried flashing from internal sd to ext sd with no avail.*
I flashed twrp through Flashify.
I'm so excited we have root now! Im so thankful for you guys that put your time and effort for us!
Thanks devs!
Edit: just a bad download

not sure how you tried to install TWRP, but make sure you hit "recovery image" to flash TWRP and not "boot image" on flashify.
hope this helps.
I reflashed the recovery and the same result...
I tried flashing the same custom ROM twice in a row and went back to the main menu of the recovery then power off. i turned it back on and it booted into the ROM.
so i tried a different ROM the same way and its not working again...
I have no idea whats going on here. this is so weird
looks like the stock rooted rom is the only one the flashes flawlessly
Redownload the twrp file and flash it through flashify also are you just flashing the ROM and not doing wipes
