Recently I rooted my xperia X8 & got Gingerdx v.11, later i reflashed to froyobread as gingerdx was slow.... yesterday i googled for new roms & saw a new rom here "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973753" which needed me to flash CWM RECOVERY-4.1.14-new2.. which i did... but after that when i tried to flash the rom , instead of xRecovery, CWM v.4.1.4 started & told this " amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.
Amend scripting was deprecated by google in android 1.5.
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the clockworkmod 3.0 gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages."
I tried a lot of things by searching XDA website... but they are very very complicated, I tried a converter from here "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=903598" but it does not have 'MOUNT TYPE' for SE Xperia.
I just want the xRecovery back so that I can reflash the Froyobread because now even though FB is working...wifi is showing error.... please help..... I am a novice to all this. I am not able to get into android market also.
I tried xRecovery-0.3-release.apk but after rebooting when i press back button nothing happens & boots ... when i unlock it says " Sorry! The application DSP manager has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." If i do nothing it reboots again. I think i bricked my phone ... PLEASE HELP.
That converter has X8 mountpoints. You must download new phone database
Install the old xrecovery again with Flashtool, and if this doesn´t work just flash the stock 2.1 again.
After that,you can convert the script by using dsixda´s Android Kitchen, you´ll have to extract the ROM with it, and then change the scripting method in the advanced options and build the zip with the updateR-script again.
You can also install the Dual-Mode-recovery, then you´ll have both of the recoveries, but it contains an older version of CWM-recovery (3.x.x)
There is a zip file called cwmtoxrecovery.zip here on xda somewhere, try to find it and flash it in cwm, this will restore xrecovery. If you cant find it by the morn i will try to upload it from my pc, im on mobile app now so i cant upload.

Sorry friends.... I i tried xrecovery.. now the phone boots & shows multiple windows saying 1.) Android phone has stopped working- force close
2.) DSP Manager stopped working unexpectedly- force close & others & again reboots & again & again.... hence I even cannot connect it to my computer as USB is not recognized.... I dont know what to do...PLEASE HELP.

can you get into xrecovery? are those the exact error messages you get and when do you get them?
if you can get into xrecovery then do full wipe and flash a new rom, FB or Kuya.
no.. I cant... thats the problem... even if i hit the back button a hundred times when SE logo is on.. it just reboots again... and ya they are the exact message boxs i see...
Repair with pc companion so, its your only choice. Try tapping the screen on startup just to see if cwm is installed, you might be lucky.

hey guys... good news... I got my phone back...but to original SE 2.1 Android using SE Update from official website... i am not allowed to post external links so if any body wants they can email me to [email protected] ...... & thanks to all for extending their support

I searched for that file many times, but cant find it! Somebody help! Really need to get back to xrecovery!

Did you unlocked your bootloader? if not, it will not work. Were you able to go into CWM?

lasttime i just sent to SE
but u can try to going back to stock and dont unlockbootloader

am using nAa-08b i used nAa-08 but never had the wifi issues i have no problem with this using miniCm7 2.1.6, the only issues i have is that data does not work properly i have to enable/disable mobile data on some ocassions cause it wont load anything at all, but as far from that no problems hope this help and if you are not having this problem let me know thanks

did you follow the unlock bootloader guide properly?? if you did confirm that your x8 can be unlocked, just flash back to stock kernel and try again!
the black screen was cause you hadnt flashed any rom!
try it!!
and make sure you follow all instructions to the last letter!
I have also same problem.
My phone got bricked today after succesfully unlocking bootloader, and flashing latest nAa kernel in combo with gingerxperia v21. Phone just stuck on bootloop first time, and when i after hour or more on that, pulled battery off, and start on the phone again, it just stayed all time on logo of nAa kernel.
After that i flashed default kernel and default rom 2.1.1. and phone works flawlessly, but doesn't work in any combo of nAa kernel+rom, or with alfs kernel+other roms.
I can't see where is problem if unlocking bootloader goes succesfully, i got r instead of R letter when unlocking bootloader passes.

Okey guys! So i have searched and read like crazy about this and i can't seem to find anything that works
It all started with,
I had GingerDx 23b installed, i noticed that Omnius now have a free campaign for all of there stuff (i think). It will last for this easter. Anyway i couldn't do anything there because when i restart my phone i need to hold the back button in and connect the cable (like normal). But the phone won't boot when i do that (do not know why)
So i wanted to reinstall a stock Eclair 2.1.. Since GDx23b don't have xRecovery which i needed for this 2.1 rom i found, i tried to install xRecovery. Then when i rebooted my phone i got stuck..
I have tried PC Companion and SEUS but can't get contact with them :/

Use flashtool to flash stock rom... it will work, seus and pc companion detect x8 as x10...

open flashtool folder->drivers and install ggsetup... this is it... press thanks if i help you...

relax dude!
maybe you can try this!
- first download X8 E15i 2.1.1.C.0.0._un.ftf from filecrop
put in the firmware folder on Flashtool
- flash that kernel, so you get your phone in 2.1
- root your phone with flash tool by clicking the cross icon
-unlock bootloader (remember do not unlock BL for 11w29+)
- flash the kernel
- backup
- factory reset, wipe data, etc
- flash your ROM

hi every1. im new to this kind of thing. i got a notification from cyanogenmod saying that there was an update avalible for my phone. i then downloaded it and installed it using cwm. i chose the default install option and when my phone rebooted itself, its just stuck on the sony ericsson logo. i know this is called a bootloop but i tried to boot into cwm (by rapidly pressing back when the SE logo appears) but nothing hapened. i took the battery out and when i went ot press the power button the phone turned no itself and is just stuck at the SE logo. can some1 pls help me :-(

Thanks for ur information, I tried all those steps mentioned above. Now my phone is working fine. Now I installed GingerDX 028b
Help me guys.
I had rooted my phone and installed GingerDX on my W8. Used it for some time but then I wanted to try a new OS.
So installed GingerXperia v22 & 23. I liked both of them but they had many bugs and weren't functioning properly.
I came across this video www[dot]youtube[dot]com/watch?v=VONr7v4o1Bs . It has mentioned GingerXperia v25 in its description with a link to it.
I took a risk and installed this in my phone.
But now my phone is stuck on the initial SE screen. It can't access xRecovery on pressing the "back" switch.
What should I do now ?
The date under the battery is 11W32.
use pccomanion or flashtool to flach stock rom....
i dunno if this rom want a custom kernel,but you cant unlocked your bootloader!!!!!
hey bro dont worry its no big deal..........reflash the stock rom using flash tool...............it will be fine........and next time be careful.............
This is what you need to do.
1.iF You dont have pc companion install it.
2.after that plug your phone into your pc, then click on update.
3. it will say that it didn t detect your phone, CLOSE THAT WINDOW.
4.somewhere there should be an option repair. Hit that and do thaat what instructions says.
