system is not responding - why? - LG Optimus 2x

I get this message with every ROM I tried with fresh install or "restored".
It happens almost everytime I install or uninstall some app or do something cpu intensive! Why? Does system have the highest priority when in use?
It happens in GB and ICS!
Let's not talk about how SLOW and unresponsive it gets after you install or remove something. I really don't get why. Never happened with another android device I have :S

More info, what Rom + Kernel and ramhack are you use...?
What app unistal, system app or user app...?
Because if u remove some system app get errors and freezing...
Fresh install is wipe data / factory reset before install a new rom...

It happened with every single rom/kernel I used. And also with a fresh install wiping before installing

Don't worry you're not alone.
System has stopped responding occurs frequently on my phone when installing uninstalling or updating apps.
I'm on Temasek cm7 120.

Strange, I use temasek CM 7 at long time ago + vadonka's kernel and don't have some issues like you... My phone is faster, responsive like a first day with + 100 app instaled... I don't have your problem... Try flash only rom without kernel and looks if is stable...

I would like to know the reason! My inexpert guess: some process gets all the cpu with a high priority causing everything else to queue, basically the resources are not balanced

Is it know that tegra 2 might have bottleneck problems?

[Q] All of a sudden random apps force closing for no apparent reason [i9000]

Hey,
this problem started only today and has never happened before. The only things changing were some app updates and a few new installs. I already uninstalled all of the apps installed in the last few days in hopes of reverting the situation but it didn't help. And after I made the first reboot when the apps began to force close randomly it looked like a semi factory reset was made. All my contacts are gone, there are no SMS/call logs, but all SMSes, pictures and videos are still there. If I try to open the Market app it asks me if I accept TOS, Gmail is not set, mobile internet is not working (due to reset settings), Wi-Fi and bluetooth settings are still there. In short, everything is half-fuc*ed.
What do you thing happened? And is there any possibility I can go back to a normal state without starting from fresh?

Oh yeah, and another thing. Market, Youtube and Maps apps where all a few version lower than before and started updating immediately after opening the Market app. Market still is (even the old design and everything). How can this be?

i9000 random loss of data
Yes, this is a rather old thread I'm trying to revive here, but as it is adviced to continue those instread of duplicating them, here are my issues:
I gave my i9000 to a relative ~a year ago and recently it started acting strange. About 1-2 times a month I get a call from that relative saying: "I get a lot of force closes, phone is unusable, nothing works". I then walk over, take a look and yes, unusable. It appears that all information in the /system partition gets lost for no reason. The relative told me that this usually happens when some google apps are updating, but it might still be random.
Currently MackayRom (latest) is installed.
Usually when I got the call, I hopped over to my relative, did a factory reset (wipe of /system and /data + Cache and Dalvik Cache) then reflashed the ROM and Gapps and everything looked good again. Sadly the issue continues to return.
What I tried so far is a complete wipe of anything, reverting to a stock TW Rom, and going back to an AOSP Rom from there (first CM 11, then Mackay). The issue appeard to be gone afterwards, I didn't hear from that relative for an unusual amount of time, but after a month or 1 1/2, it returned.
My guess is, that one of the chips that are containing the /system partition is broken or at least close to die (I'm not sure if it is just one or multiple chips, since the CM Team or Pawit himself changed something in the partition structure somewhere between cm10, cm10.1 and cm11 to ensure the compatibility of that old device with KitKat). Anyways, I'd love to hear any ideas or suggestions on how to solve this issue (although I reached a point where I think that solving this isn't possible anymore, unless I wanna swap the Mainboard, which would mean paying an amount of money that I could get a new phone for as well.) Soon as I have the time, I'll Odin-flash the latest TW Rom to the device and have my relative use that for a while, just to see if the different/older partition structure helps in any way.
Thanks in advance for any replies .

[Q] "Unfortunately, app has stopped..."

Hi, i have a problem with many apps, and really i don't know what else to do, this start out of nowhere, a few days ago the message "unfortunately, (app) has stopped.." it's making me crazy.
i've try to flash another rom, kernel, restore backups, wipe cache, dalvik, data, and nothing.
i've try cyanogenmod 9, gummy, slimICS, dark night, and icy glitch kernel, devil kernel, and many other.
for example, the titanium backup, shows me the message every 30 minutes, the CK: zombies, doesn't start anymore, youtube too, minecraft pocket edition, play store, and many apps.
please i need some help, before i pull my captivate away
THANKS!
Try opening Terminal Emulator, and type "df". Next to /datadata, see how much free space there is. If it is less than 15-20MB, you're going to want to move some apps to the sd card, or apply a datafix script.

i did it and show me 40 mb free space, 131 used, 172 total, blksize 4096.
Hmm... that should be enough free space, but you could still try the datafix script: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1665742
Make sure to do a nandroid first (if you have anything worth saving at this point...)

You didn't need to wipe your cards... Basically the problem is your Tibu backups were probably done with improper settings, and the data cannot be restored. Restoring just the app should still work though. You are going to have to start over again.
This is only correct if the apps won't even open

i have same problem with google maps.
after a fresh installation. it s runnning but when i restart i have that message "unfortunatly.. app stoped"
Same issue, with Gallery/Camera
ok, so i'm on Tsunami 2.0 running devil kernel, this issue started while i was on AOCP, whenever i open the camera app, it immediatly says Unfortunately, Gallery Has Stopped. so i tried reflashing the gapps, same issue, tried flashing the 4.2 gapps, same issue, so i wiped everything and switched to the AOKP Tsunami ROM that im on now, (gapps built in) and SAME FREAKIN ISSUE....any ideas guys? (im pretty experienced with android and flashing roms, i've got a buddy who is rediculously experienced with it, and neither of us can figure this out)
EDIT : Just tried the picasa synk option in Tsunami OTA menu, same issue. i cant post this on the thread for my ROM, cuz i haven posted enough.....HELP
What about go to the Settings/ Applications/ All/ Gallery...select Clear cache and then Force stop. Then back out to home screen and open camera ?? See if that fixes the problem.

that was one of the first things i tried, and have done it several times since, still no luck....then i was gonna try and download a different camera app, and im getting server error on the play store....WTF. gonna try and reflash my gapps now, see if it improves anything.
EDIT: play store is working, downloaded Camera MX, it loads, but only shows black when trying to take a photo....i know that the camera physically works, i've been able to snap pictures and videos in the past.....

[Q] My X8 got laggy after failed overclock

WARNING: I'm pretty much a noob at this stuff, so please bear with me.
Okay, first of all, and I'm not sure if this is relevant, a few days ago I hard-bricked my phone trying to unlock the bootloader. I got it repaired (I think they changed the motherboard or something) and after that I installed GingerDX (for stock kernel) and everything was working fine and smooth. Then, I tried to overclock it with a module for overclocking (not sure what it was called) and SetCPU.
When I inserted the module, everything was working fine. But then I installed SetCPU and tried something with it. I think I tried setting it to a higher frequency, but not much. And after that, it rebooted itself. And it kept rebooting all the time. It would turn on for less than a minute and then it would reboot.
I wasn't exactly sure what to do, and since I didn't have much time and I needed my phone, I just went into CWM, made a full wipe and just installed GingerDX again. But when I turned it on, it was lagging quite a lot. Not THAT much, but it was quite visible and irritating.
I tried to change the governor from ONDEMAND to PERFORMANCE, and it showed that the CPU frequency had changed from 600MHz to about 700MHz I think, but it still felt the same. Then I switched it back to ONDEMAND, and it's still the same.
Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

For me, the overclock never work on froyobread and gingerdx on stock kernel. When I install the module, the phone just stay unstable, and without a overclock (at 600 mhz with module installed), the performance is sh!t. So, if u need overclock, install a rom with include the module, like cm7 v7 (i dont know). The best is unclock bootloader, but i dont do this.

[Q] Do I have an un-android-able Touchpad?

Hello All,
I'm not that new to the XDA scene as I've been rooting for a couple of years now (HTC Aria, HTC One XL), however I am completely stumped as to why my HP Touchpad keeps randomly rebooting while in android. Here's the TL;DR
1. Installed moboot 0.3.5, CWM 1012, and CM9 20121212 Nightly using ACMEInstaller2.
2. Everything installed fine, except device randomly reboots within 5 min of starting up, sometimes immediately (before I can even unlock the display), sometimes even while loading the cyanogenmod splash screen.
3. I have read everything on the XDA's about this problem and scoured Google for hours to no avail. Tried clearing cache, Dalvik cache, then fix permissions. Still randomly reboots. Tried turning off beats audio in webOS. Still randomly reboots. Used ACMEUninstaller, erased webOS completely, re-rooted using ACMEInstaller3, moboot 0.3.5, CWM 1012, and CM9 20121212 Nightly. Still Randomly Reboots.
I am at the end of my ropes here, about to give up and just accept that my device is not compatible with android, even though countless others are running android with little problem. I'm just not understanding what I am doing wrong, if anything. Any comments / advice would be very much appreciated.
Peace and Love

Just tried that and it rebooted before I could even navigate to No-Frills CPU Control :/ I appreciate the input though.
It seems that once it boots, if i don't touch anything, it will not reboot while at the lock screen. I've had it charging for the past 4 hours or so while booted in CM9 and haven't ventured past the lock screen and it hasn't rebooted yet.
When you unlock it, see if you can find out what the min cpu speed. If it's @ 192, try 384 or even 432 and see if that makes a difference

I have tried both of those as well as setting both the min and max frequency to 1.2 GHz. It still reboots; seems to be independent of CPU clock speed.
I've also tried disabling all haptic feedback as well as turning the sound all the way down and turning off the keypress sounds. Still reboots.
i had the same issue. i used acmeuninstaller and removed android completely. downloaded the latest CM9 nightly and CWM and such. used acmeinstaller to install CWM, then I installed CM9 and gapps manually via CWM. check out jscullins latest CWM build. it may help.
Are you using the right Gapps zip? If you flash CM9 and are using Jelly Bean Gapps, it may have problems trying to run the Google setup at start since its meant for Jelly Bean. Just a thought.
It may be a block of bad Nand memory. Similar problems have been seen / noted in some of the other tablet forums (I hang out a lot in the Advent Vega forum) and this is not totally unknown, although not that common. It may just be an area that hasn't been used or is avoided by Webos, but comes into play with Android and the extra partitions.
Only suggestion from me would be to try AcmeInstaller3 if you haven't already as that sets different partitions to AcmeInstaller2 to allow for the space needed for CM10, but will work fine with CM9.

The only thing I did different than what you suggested here is let the ACMEInstaller3 install CM9 for me. I have not tried jscullins build of CWM though, I will give that a shot and also try installing the ROM manually after ACME has installed CWM.

I'm using NeoWave rom with Cm11 NeoKernel. There is some informations about SoD in NeoWave thread, but it seems like my problems is something completely different so I make a new thread here. My phone rapidly shutdown on itself these day and it become nearly unusable. And it can happed anytime, when I was browsing, or gaming, sometime it shutdown when I just wake it from sleep, or even when phone is booting. And when it off I can turn it on normally without the need to do a battery-pull. Already wipe data and reinstalled rom but the issue still there. So now I don't have any clue about this issue (but it seems more like a hardware-related issue now)

Used to happen to me too when I was on NeoWave and few people reported the same. It's because of lowered voltages...so you either have to read a few last pages in NeoWave rom's thread where someone wrote how to solve it or change the rom like I did.
