hey guys,
i have to change my camera module 'cause it's broken. so i just wonder if it's technically possible to build in an 8 MP module of the Desire HD / Inspire ? i mean they use the same platine in these devices and wp7 supports 8 MP. what do you think, does it work or will i wreck up the whole phone?
no
I think not possible

Hi. I recently discovered some software based features that devices similar to ours (Nexus 4, Nexus 5) have. One of them is called Photo Sphere, and it comes with Nexus 5, as well as some other kit kat devices. You can see this camera feature in action on the video below:
The other feature I adored is Dual Camera Recording. This feature is supported by devices such as Optimus G Pro and Galaxy S4. You can see this feature in action here:
My question is: Can we somehow use any of these features in our device, either by an app or a firmware update(to kit kat)?
If no, what is the limitation?
If yes, how can I do it?
I'm currently on Vanir Nightly 27/11/13 and iodak v8 (repack 4.3.1)
For photosphere, search for 4.3 nexus 4 photosphere app, just instqll it like normal app and it will work. No dual camera as of yet afaik

ok, thanks. Do you think it's a hardware limitation? (I'm talking about the dual camera)

doubt it is, tbh, but it may be ^^
Hello I was just wondering if people think it would be theoretically possible to create a superzoom mod for the HTC one camera like is seen with the oppo find 7. As far as I can tell it uses multi image overlay (not sure if they are offset by ois) to enhance the detail level beyond the mega pixel count of the sensor. I think it is a bi cubic combination algorithm. Theoretical we could gain much more detail from our photos... Just wondering if anyone has a reason whether this should be possible or not.
Thanks

Yeah, sure. As long as you can take lots of pictures fast, then cross-correlation or whatever to align them, then combine the images into one. Sounds like a fairly simple DSP problem. Might require a new camera app rather than hooking the HTC one.
The thing is, developpers can't port the feature from the Oppo find 7a yet, some say that's the camera processor that does the trickery... if it's a hw thing, we are doomed, but if it's possible by software editing, we can hope for something, we need developpers to go into that, an Ultrapixel is a larger pixel, it would be perfectly suited to that kind of combination...
Hey, I was wondering if any of you tried to grab pictures in raw format and could confirm whether it supports it or not.
So far it seems that all apps that use the new API added support for it only as a paid feature, meaning I can't know beforehand if the chipset is compatible with it...
Hi, Camera FV-5 Lite states my Moto X 2013 (on 5.1) is not compatible
http://www.camerafv5.com/support.php
It seems that only the nexus 5 and nexus 6 are supported. Since the support of the raw output is optional in Android no manufacturer implemented that for phones which were released prior 5.1. Seems that they want to sell they new phone with a "huge improvement of the camera for professional usage" or something like that....
It has been years already since this device is a top one and we all know it has a very good sensor on it's camera. But none of the developers has tried to involve into activating Camera 2 Api for it. ( Cancro on Snapdragon 800 )
My question is - what is needed to do so and how difficult is it? I used a ported Google Camera on Redmi 4X and the images where amazing! HDR+ is a performant thing for high end cameras. Why not activating it on Cancro as well? There are a lot of users with this device on hand.
Hello guys, I need some help... I'm using my smartphone camera for recording seminars and such... When using S8, it is rooted an I can remove camera limitation... I don't intend to root my Note 9, so can I ask for an alternative ways to record without limitation? I checked open camera already, but for some reason it says video quality not supported when opted for a 1080/60 settings. I'm using an exynos version though, so perhaps it is the cause.
Well, when I'm using S8, I can record 1080p 60fps for roughly 2 hours without issue, so I have confident that recording in Note 9 won't give problem.. I really hated samsung's limitation
You need zero camera
