How can I dial a telephone number received in a text or an email
For a text just tap the number and it will give you a couple of options (call, message etc.). For the Gmail asp you'll have to copy the number to messaging or phone but the default email app you can tap the number and it will take you to the phone screen with that number entered with choices for call and message.

I have just purchase the above PDA (ROM:1.56.721.3 dated 29.08.07) with radio version 1.27.2.11. When I receive a local call from contact, the name of the caller does is not displayed. Only the phone number (7 digits). However, when I receive an SMS, the name of the same caller is displayed. If I remove the country code in the contact number and leave the local number only, then the name of the caller is displayed. In that case, the name is not displayed when I receive and SMS from that contact. Can you please help?
1. when some one call me a balloon will pop up as usual, but showing only the phone number, not showing the contact's name even though i got it saved in my contacts.
2. when using smart dialing(ver 2.5 build304260), after pressing call, during the call only numbers where displayed but not the name....and after the call, in call list only numbers were displayed but not the names...[if i call from contact list everthing is fine, both name and number displayed normally]

I am looking for a app or widget that will turn on or off my caller id.
I would perfer a app that would show my caller id only to my contacts but i dont know if that is possible.
Anyone have any ideas?
Well I think caller ID is on the provider side of things. I guess you could dial *67 before every number you dial that is not a contact to hide your caller ID. It's what I do with my work phone when I don't want people calling me back lol
I don't recall the names, but there are apps that allow you to pre/post pend to a dialed number before the call goes out. Some of them have a rich rule set also.
Tasker may be able to do it.
Under settings then Call Settings then All calls then "Show my number" you can select "send / Hide / By network"
A app that with one push i can toggle "Send" or "Hide" the caller id is what i am looking for.
Any help anyone
Hi
I have updated my HTC One Dual Sim with Kitkat - stock update.
Now i am noticing that when i try to send an sms to a contact that has 2 mobile numbers - even though i select to send the sms to one of the numbers - as i click send i get - "Send as individual messages" option with a tick box next to it. Whether or not i select the thick box - the sms is still sent to just one of his numbers.
Yet i would like to remove this notification - i understand this should pop up when you want to send an sms to multiple numbers. I presume it is happening here since the contact has multiple phone numbers - yet in this case i am just selecting one of his numbers.
I think this is a bug?
It didn't happen before the update
Whether i select the tick box or not - nothign changes - the sms is still sent to one number
Ken
I occasionally get text messages from businesses with a 5 digit number. I would assign them to my contact so that their contact name would show up instead of the original 5 digit number in the app. At some point this stopped working because now, I just see the numbers again.
Anyone notice this?
