[Q] How to control mic volume of camera ? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I did some quick filming at home party with my friends and the sound recorded sounds all blown out and distorted. Is there a mic volume option or some sort of gate or filter to avoid distortion and allow for proper sound recording?
HTC Phone have HD2 Mic Control app. But Galaxy Note can not use that app

[Q] Good audio quality in dock?

I have a google car dock for my nexus one and I hook the audio through the car stereo with a 3.5mm audio cable. When it is plugged into the dock the sound is very low and the quality is terrible. If I just pull it out of the dock everything is back to normal -- this happens with all apps.
What do I have to do in order to prevent the phone from doing this while docked?
you have the exact same setup as i do and ive seen this as well, i think there is something that makes the audio play at a different volume specifically for when it is docked for some reason. im on cm6.1.1 and it seems a little better because i believe they tweaked something with it, i saw a checkin on cmsrc on twitter that modified some line with dock volume.
what ive found is if i set the media volume to about 5/8 or 7/8 then dock it the volume will make its "dock adjustment" and its up to where my car volume is from there, usually a little less distortion if the phones volume is a little lower than max. from there if i forget to set the media volume i will use the preamp slider in the poweramp music players equalizer to adjust.
i just wish the volume wouldnt change at all and the volume button on the side of the dock would change the media volume :\
side note: have you noticed that the voice search when docked doesnt pick up your voice very well? almost like the noise canceling mic is cancelling you out or something and other times it can pick up your voice great?
Actually the sound volume was solved by some user that re-compiled libaudio with the code that lowers the sound by 10db commented out. The problem I have is that the sound quality is so poor that it seems to be mono without bass.
It turns out that the crappy audio quality comes from Bluetooth being on. When I disable Bluetooth in car mode, everything is great. Unfortunately I can't figure how to make it disabled by default so I have to disable it everytime.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App

[Q] Microphone volume control?

How can i control the volume of OB's microphone?? With Nova it's almost impossible to record video in good conditions...In a concert environment it's always peaking. I know there's some programs that allows us to control the microphone input level, but it only works with kernels that have the function. Is there any kernel or rom for OB allowing microphone control?
Also with Nova rom my video recording stalls, which turns into a video with no sync with the audio...

[Q] Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic - How does it works???

I use my note to record some shows as I used to do with my xperia neo, but the recording sound is horrible. So I would like to know if this ''noise cancellation'' works to record videos with loud sound
You can use programs like Audacity to clean the noise from the recorded audio.

You have noisy recordings because active noise cancellation is not used during recording. Also, this type of noise control method doesn't work well with distant sound sources (too less of a difference between the audio received by the mics).

[Q] Rode SmartLav mic compatibility and AGC of audio level

I have been given use of a Galaxy Cama EK-GC100 and asked to record someone talking to camera.
I am looking for a mic solution and found that a TRRS headset mic works. This led me to discover the Rode SmartLav.
Their site discusses iPhone compatibility and a bunch of devices but the Galaxy Camera is not on the list
I suspect it'll work but confirmation from anyone with experience would be great!
Second question...
Is there a way to set a manual audio record level?
I am getting nasty noise between sentences in quiet environments.
Thanks, Steve
It works
I tried a Rode SmartLav mic and it works correctly with the Galaxy Camera
I am still looking for a camera app that will give manual record level control

[Q] Recording volume microphone.

When i record video's and there's some bass around, the sound gets really distorted.
So my question:
Is there a way to change this volume? With an option or maybe with a mod?
Thanks!
