i can go to d/l mode but no recovery, what to do?
If the phone dont boot and you only have download mode, Your only solution is to flash a ROM via ODIN,
I would suggest to go back to GB and re start the whole procedure.

My note wont turn on, it does however go into DL mode... I don't know whats going on here since i got it like that. Anything I should put on the sd card or any advise?
you got the phone in that state ??
I would suggest flashing GB firmware in ODIN and starting from a fresh install.

How exactly do I do that? I've had Android for years but never done technical stuff like that
You need to download the GB ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997 and flash it using PC ODIN
Nice guide by Dr Ketan there to download, flash and root stock roms.

Ok, Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
Download the GB firmware for your region, Also download ODIN (should be on that thread too)
Once downloaded, Load all the files into ODIN and connect phone in Download mode and hit start
You'll be up and running in no time at all
Hey,
i wanted to flash from an unsafe kernel(ZCLP5) to a safe one and got the recent CM10 kernel (Kernel_CM10.1_20130130_Nightly_CWM.zip),
i then went into recovery mode and flashed the zip from sdcard and yeh here i am.
After the samsung logo appears i get a black screen and the software buttons flash once, no way to go into recovery or download mode.
When checking out the logcat with adb and grepping for "error" and "fail" i can see that the device fails to call eglInitialize (EGL_BAD_ALLOC) that, i guess, is initializing the OpenGL ES graphics lib.
So i'm a developer myself but not into android, where do i go from here?
Best greetings and thanks for support in advance.
What Rom did you have before?
I guess CM kernel doesn't work with your Rom (if it's TW).
Did you press the three buttons long enough for getting into recovery or download mode?
Easiest way: If you really do not get into recovery you should download a Stock Rom and install it with PC Odin.

I guess for pc odin i need to be in download mode that is also not accessible :/
Tanks, and greetings.
EDIT:
Oh man somehow i get into download mode now, i swear i tried several times.
So you recommend that i flash stock rom now?
Will heimdall also work instead of odin?

Thanks for your support guys, after flashing stock rom, the stock launcher was broken but i was able to get to the settings via the status bar and by that enable usb debugging.

download the rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
then you need to put the phone in download mode and connect to PC.. open odin and it should show that the phone is connected by showing a Yellow Box with COM:X
once this is done, place the rom (tar.md5 file) in the PDA tab (if only 1 rom file) and appropriate places if 3 rom files.
the press start.. the phone will start downloading. let it finish and the phone will reboot.. once done.. boot into recovery and choose factory reset. (GB rom is safe to reset using stock recovery)

THE PROBLEM İS NOW NAND writing start!! stuck what to do now please step by step im sooo noob and try to fix something i get moreee problemmm
Go to the above thread and download the pit file from there. Then in odin select the pit file under pit tab. This will auto tick the repartition option. Then select the rom in pda again. Reboot the phone into download mode and try again.
Freezing on nandwrite start is not a good sign.

What did you do? Repartition?
If that.. Then use a small rom.. Like slimbean or cm roms. You could also try slimwizz. Big roms may not work properly.

because they said so its only way to fix or if i did untick repartition will it still flash i wasnt sure there is no fix for that i dont like custom roms i think stock roms not bad about speed especailly 4.0.4 what if 4.1.2 come up ?
In this case, you could try with the J leaks which are small like slimwizz. Stock ICS roms are huge so may cause trouble. But you could try some stock based custom roms out there.

If you can go to download mode, I think that can fix it.
I couldn't boot once when I accidentally flash GB instead of new JB version. It couldn't boot, and go to recovery. Just downlaod mode. So I flashed JB again, and all was ok. I think it will be ok when you use guide for going back to GB now.
I have flashed my phone many times with no issue. I just tried to flash a new rom and am stuck in boot screen. I can reboot into recovery mode and have tried starting the process afresh by loading phil base rom etc, all works but still get stuck in boot screen. Can anyone please help.
Have try with odin too?

No - not sure what rom I should flash with ODIN and not used it before. I don't have stock rom
I don't know if it helps. Whatever rom I try to flash through normal recovery mode, other than phils base rom, comes up with a zip error as it starts to load.

flash only with philz kernel after proper wipes, also you can try to install the stock kernel of the custom rom for eg CM10.1 kernel and then try. Moreover if you would like to go back to stock kernel first and then try the custom rom , you can refer to this tutorial and download link for stock rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
edit: forgot to mention, have you tried wiping cache and dalvik cache when you get stuck on bootloop?

i was on the Liquidsmooth rom, i wanted to go to FireKat.
i tried to go back to stock using Odin, using this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/development/guide-odin-to-stock-unrooted-firmware-t2957156 and in the middle of Odin doing its thing it failed.
now im stuck at "Firmware upgrade encountered an Issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again."
so i downloaded Kies, and my phone isnt recognized.
what can i do so that i can at least get the phone working again?
Several options - first why did you not flash over recovery?
Second boot into recovery and reset.
Third if you can't get into recovery flash a custom recovery such as twrp and flash a new rom.
Hope this helps

the instructions on the first page of the FireKat rom say to "1. Odin Flash Stock ANK4" so flashing via recovery is not a option.
i no longer have a recovery, during the Odin flash back to stock it failed and deleted my recovery. only thing i could boot into is DL mode.
i ended up having the wrong verison of Kies, had to use a older version. the phone was recognized and i "unbricked" the phone.
Meaning install a custom recovery and a different rom and you should be fine

The first step is just to make sure u r on the most current bootloader.
Can you boot the phone into download mode? If so you can flash recovery and a new ROM.

You should be using keis 3 anything else will fail. If you have download mode Odin back to stock with factory firmware. Tekhd has a step by step on how to root. Download firmware from sammobile and ur back to business. Pick your ROM careful.
BAD ASS NOTE 4 & GEAR S
Happened to me once, seems dumb enough, but change USB cable when flashing stock with odin. If you have access to download mode, you have not perma-bricked your device. Might help. Might not
