update ICS to my country or my phone country ? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i ve GNote from Saudi Arabia but i am egyptian and i live in Egypt
what shall i do ?
1- update to Egyptian Firmaware
2- update to Saudian Firmaware
3- stay on my lovely firmware ( zlpf tawian version ) as i full customized it with speedmod kerenl and rooted and full of games and applications upto date
what the diifer between the 3 cases ?
thx alot

i would recommend going back to GB, doing a clean wipe and then moving to the latest ICS ROM. I don't think the country would matter much. Anyways, you are already on Taiwan. Just check if there would be any issue with CSC when moving to Saudi or Egyptian ROM.

yeah the only issue you may encounter is signal issues, if thats the case just make sure to flash a radio for your region, not for the region of the firmware

No Android Updates For Galaxy S Owner in Pakistan ?

Why Samsung Don't Provide Android Updates Via Kies to Galaxy S Owner in Pakistan ?
i'm from india but we get updates.. but generally asian countries dont get updates as fast as the european ones, but hey u could always flash european ones via odin without any problems.. use the below link to download other stock firmwares..
www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm
Also in due time u will realise custom roms are much better than stock so i suggest u take a look at that too.. i have been using simply honey roms for months now, n i'm happy...
Dont forget to hit thanks!!

Stock ROM by country

I just used Dr. Ketan's post (stock ROMS) to flash the latest GB and would now like to flash stock ICS 4.0.4. I reside in Hungary
and the phone was purchased in Hungary. I don't see 4.0.4 Rom for Hungary. Does it matter?
I am curious why they even have ROMs bye country.
Thanks for your observation.
Already updated half an hr back. you can see now.
This have 4.0.4 for hungary now.
Just cause your phone was bought in country a doesn't mean the phone has country a csc. That's not how updatability works at Samsung.

[Q] [Advice Required] Restoring Official 4.04 from cm9, will get official JB?

Hi,
A piece of advice is required from the experts please. I am currently on cm9, my baseband is XXLRK.
1) If i restore the backup through CWM of my official 4.04, will I be able to get official update notification through KIES or OTA? or once I've rooted and changed ROM, i will have to continue flashing the required ROMS and can never get OTA update?
2) If i have to continue flashing please advice that with baseband of XXLRK which of the below Stock JB ROM is most suitable for me to download and flash via CWM (official JB for XXLRK isnt available yet i believe)?
N7000JPLSB N7000OJPLSA - Algeria
N7000DDLSC N7000ODDLSC - India
N7000DDLSC N7000ODDLSC - Srilanka
N7000DDLSC N7000ODDLSC - Nepal
N7000DDLSC N7000ODDLSC - Bangladesh
N7000XXLSZ N7000XENLS4 - Netherlands
N7000JPLSB N7000OJPLSA - United Arab Emirates
N7000XXLSZ N7000OXELS7 - Russia
N7000UBLSF N7000UUBLSF - Trinidad and Tobago
N7000XXLSZ N7000ITVLS4 - Italy
N7000XXLSZ N7000OXALSZ - - Germany
N7000ZSLM5 N7000OZSLM5 - Hong Kong
N7000ZSLM5 N7000OZSLM5 - Taiwan
Thanx a lot in advance and sorry if this was already discussed. I searched forums but couldn't find answer.
For updates with KIES or OTA you only need to install a Stock Rom with PC Odin (N7000JPLR seems to be the latest for Pakistan).
Today the official JB release for Bangladesh came out, so Pakistan may be only a few days away.
I would wait for it and then install this stock Rom with PC Odin.
U mean to say i can load any stock Rom regardless my baseband is XXLRK? I m in pak but i think XXLRK is german or uk. Cz i got this set frm UK

you can flash rom from any region.. most of the stock roms come with modem.. so it will change the baseband to the one included in the rom,..

The Stock Rom for Algeria or UAE has Arabic support (JPLSB). Install with PC Odin for unrooted stock Rom.
Or use my Pristine All Languages with working Arabic Support in v2.3.

Can I flash firmware intended for a different region?

I read somewhere that my region (Philippines) would not be getting the android 7.0 update for the G610Y model.
Now I'm planning to flash the Australian version of the firmware to my phone. Can I do this? And if i can, what issues might I encounter from doing this (like network issues, etc.)?
Thanks in advance
As far as i know , nothing will happen but the bugs in that file which already exist whether it's for same region or for another one ..
The main point for choosing rom is phone model , some said it must be same baseband also like G610FDD or G610FDX etc...
Anyway , most important thing as i said before is Model like : SM-G610F ..
To make sure , i'm saudi ( saudi arabia ) with rom oriented for UAE , and updated to indian rom and nothing happened .
