i tried installing a few roms and even the original one from htc website
i would appreciate any help you can give me
Very strange. What SPL version doyou have? Have you used cooked roms? Anything else happend to the phone?
HTC trinity original ROM
Here is the original HTC Trinity ROM:
http://rapidshare.com/files/202845245/Trinity_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.5_6275_1.20.00.11_12201_Ship.zip
1. Press on/off button + camera button + reset (using the stylus)
2. You should now be in tricolor screen.
3. Connect the usb cable.
4. Make sure you have activesync runing.
5. Install the rom provided in the link.
In the link you will find rom+radio. (Radio version 1.20)
Here is a newer radio version 1.56:
Hey! My trinity have the same problem!!!
I habe all test: Without sim, without SD, with SD, with SIM (with SIM screen is grey)
What have you done?
Original ROM - same problem
Mine was doing this earlier
seemed that their was dirt stuck in the reset button hole causing it to stick in slightly
I got this problem too. My trinity would turn on and start to fade away. But mine was a liltle more artistic. Many times i saw a kinda round spot in the middle of the screen that become black, then half of the screen would black out and then the rest of the screen. Sometimes i even got colors.
I noticed if a had a fully charged battery the phone would work perfectly.
But most of the time it turn on, but the screen stayed black with the retro light on.
I was told to try the unbrick exploit.
me too !!! i have the same problem with my htc 3600 ? can someone help us to fix our htc's 3600 ?thanks in advance....
have you fix it ?
hi all
I have a small problem with my htc p3600. It's not starting. It's loading only the bios but it's freezing with the screen picture and is not loading the WM 5.0 I try to change the WM5.0 with a new one but I don't have a active sync. connection. Please help
has anyone found a solution to this problem ?
anyone have a solution?
Finally, what you should do?
Since the Trinity / P3600 is getting old now, I believe more and more people are going to face this strange problem sooner or later.
So I thought I should save your time and tell you what you should do when your trinity starts behaving like what was described at the beginning of this thread.
YOU SHOULD DO NOTHING !!
THERE IS NO QUICK FIX
THERE IS NO WORKAROUND
THERE IS NO CHEAP SOLUTION
I have searched and tried everything mentioned in this forum that might slightly be related to the problem and all solutions failed.
So after days and days of experimenting, I gave up and sent my device to HTC dealer who called me few days later to tell me that the mother board needs to be replaced.
The dealer told me the cost will be around $213, but they said they are going to sent it back as it is, because they don't have that board model anymore!!.
Even if they had, for an old device like this , I don't think it worth that mush money to fix.

*SO BASICALLY , DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME TRYING TO FIX IT AND BUY YOURSELF A NEW ONE. *

Hello,
I resolve the problem with this : Simultnous press Power and Camera buttons and softreset, you'll got bootloader, three colors mode. Perhaps a little error message like this WLAN error but if you plug usb, it's ok.
Hope this good for you (excuse my poor english)
I've had this same problem for about a year now and keep coming back to it.
Any forward momentum on solving the problem would be appreciated as I quite like this phone.
1. The phone will boot FINE without a SIM
2. It hangs like in the video (or other strange screens) as soon as I insert a SIM card (partially or fully)
3. I've tried 3 different SIM cards
4. I have no SD cards
5. I have installed 3.20.Olipro
6. An official ROM is re-installed
I must admit the phone has had a hard life (or is it just the cheap plastic coatings HTC use)
No sooner did I post this did I find a solution.
For anyone that is interested...I have managed to re-install the original HTC ROM but HAVE NOT managed to install a workable 6.5 ROM yet.
So, the answer I found was:
1. Put P3600i into bootloader mode (push camera+power+reset buttons for 2 secs and get triple colour screen)
2. Re-flash HardSPL 1.1 from my PC
3. Re-flash original HTC ROM (WWE_3.00.707.18_6275_1.46.30.11_108) by agian putting P3600i into bootloader mode first
I since tried several different radio stacks but haven't noticed any difference in reception so have left the original stack on (1.46.30.11) as it gives the best phone call quality
I love the UI of the latest WM6.5 but if the P3600i doesn't run them properly I'll just have to do without.
Good luck with your own unbricking.
it was working fine for me when i put a little piece of rubber between the processor and the metallic cover of it but after 3 months i have the same problem and the paper dont work anymore.... now when i press the power button the screen is black, only the backlight is working anyone have any ideas what to do?
OMG WTF, as soon as I saw this thread I switched my HTC P3600 on and it started doing it I reckon this is cursed, I will upload a video onto Youtube later and show you that is what happened.
I had this problem myself, didnt know what i was doing wrong, altho my tri color screen did this, not the boot one.
I removed memorycard and voila, everything went smoothly.

same problem, please help me !
first i tried to update to windows mobile 6, but it didnt even start then it stucked at boot loader screen, serial/usb V 2.07
then i solved it with mtty but not completely, it stucks now in white screen, and do a ring like 'be-eer' . i re flash with orginal 2003 pda2k firmware, but after a successful flash, it's still stucking at white screen !
wot do u think could it be a hardware prob
i can't really help you about that issue, the only thing i can do is point out a little something for you to look up:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3816258
or:
this is regarding the universal but maybe it contains helpful ideas, what to check
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=259003&page=3
and just a little bit of my own ideas:
- are you absolutely 100% certain, you are using the gsm model, the blueangel, and not the cdma harrier?
- what rom were you trying to flash, was it a custom made one and did exceed the size limit?
i think these are the most common reasons for being stuck in bootloader besides just bad luck. i feel with you guys, i would be completely helpless in that situation.
to the experts. I've installed more than a rom, every time you can not find the camera and it works. When I start to work give me a white screen or black by chambers of the screen and then return to normal screen.
Could you please be more specific ?
thank u my proplem is hard ware and iwill fix it soon
Hi,7 weeks ago I got a Color Nook and enjoy it much until ...... began to fail ........... here are the fault ........ My Nook is original and not modified in any way.
1 .- Turns to itself.
2 .- home flashed on the screen and displays a black box with a message.
3 .- Some features are not functioning as the zoom to spread the fingers on the screen. Have a Screen shot but for being my first post I can not upload the photo.
4 .- The power button does not respond, only responds sometimes and not others ..
Note. It began when the last update was installed about 2 weeks ago.
The screen shot is of the home screen flashing and black box whit a message.
If someone wants to view or upload help me please.
And another thing I forgot ........ in Setting About Your Nookcolor ----- ---- Software version .......... Unavailable said.
Sorry but I think this is also important.
Sounds like you have bad hardware, I would return it and get a new one if you can.
Ok, thank you, I thought I could avoid having to go to the store of B & N. ....... but I see I'll have to do it ............
Thanks for you help.

If you didn't get the exact same screen from the exact same model then it won't work because of driver differences in your kernel, you'll have to modify your original kernel to work with the new screen.

To compile a new kernel for your model number you'll have to get the stock kernel source code that your device came with, then modify that to include support for the new screen. What tools you need and how to do it will have to be answered by someone else, I'm not a kernel developer, I just know that in order to use hardware that is different than what you had requires a new kernel because the kernel is what tells the device how to use the hardware components in the device.
You'll have to do some research to learn how to compile kernels, it's quite difficult, especially for someone that has never done it.
It will require trial and error, you won't get it right on the first try, and you'll probably brick your device a few times and have to restore it several times before you get it working correctly.
Find some kernel developers and ask them for advice.
Or get the correct screen for your model to save yourself the trouble.
Or get a new device if you can't figure it out.
