Yes. I've read at Samfirmware.com that Samsung will release "Gingerbeard" ( Yes that's how the guy from Samsung have written it ^^). Source: Samsung @ twitter. He didn't said when they will release it but I'm sure it will be released this Year .

ICS from source code?

I'm a new owner of the galaxy note N7000 and I was wondering if any dev or other member has made an attempt at building an ics rom from the Google ics source code for this device. I have seen and am currently trying one of the leaked versions available but none from the source code?

I think if it would be easy it would have been made long ago.
But drivers and libraries are closed source by Samsung. And without them it can't work in a satisfying way.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

I thought Samsung was open source or is that HTC *scratches head*

AOSP (Android Open Source Project) isn't a problem. The problem is the properatary Samsung drivers. We need those, but we won't get them until Samsung releases the official ICS update.

Now that an official ics has been released in Germany, would building from aosp be possible?

Am I wrong in understanding that CM9 is meant to stay as faithful to AOSP as possible? (granted, there are a few improvements beyond hardware support)

Raspberry Pi has the same gpu but has a different cpu.

Can't you use just all the sources from the stock ROM ?

Because the sources are available in the stock ROM's "docs" folder.

And if we access the docs folder ,we'll be able to get gpu sources???or is it that we cannot access the docs folder at all
since when stock oem rom got source?
oem never ever gave their rom source, or we'll be seeing sense rom running on samsung or touchwiz running on lg.
they only gave source for kernel not the rom.

This is just because Samsung releases too much versions of a single mobile as if it is a software
And is also reluctant to give out sources:crying:

They have LG device socket ..different from our SAMSUNG ..n btw we have booting kernel 3.0.x..but it just boots to recovery..as FSR isn't functioning..we cant boot into rom..n which is very diff to configure without open source ..
Psyke also got it working on Galaxy 5..
For now our development is paused..but erik n other androidarmv6 devs are working hard on it..

[PORT REQUEST] Samsung Galaxy S Advance

Ever since i knew about the new OS i have been extremely eager to use this on my phone.
Is there any possibility of getting a port for Samsung Galaxy S Advance I9070???
And I have this same Request
And I have this same Request
Same for me here...
But the devs fos sga are still into another cm 10.1 version with still the same novathor related issues caused by missing sources. No hardware acceleration possible in cm10 so I guess we still have to wait.
