I saw impressive reviews about CM9, so I decided to install... I follow guide on cyanogenmod wiki, I can't post link, but in wiki I found guide for Galaxy Tab P-1000...
I downloaded heimdal and Technomancer's kernel with the ClockworkMod Recovery, installed drivers and installed CWM... After my galaxy won't start... I tried to install CM9 anyway with CWM, because it is the only way I have to access to tab... CM9 returned error status 7...
Can I donate new life to my tab? I tried to follow soft unbrick guide in galaxy tab development sub-forum, but I didn't resolve my problem...
I have one question for you. Can you enter in download mode (volume down + power key)? If yes, your tab is safe and I will tell you how to revive him.
Yes I can... I formatted userdata, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache... I had battery on 99%... Can I resurrect my tab without charge it??? I'm italian if this info is useful for ROM...
Thanks
You just need to return to stock.
Go to the rom developer section.
Open the overcome's thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317384
Follow his guide to return to stock:
http://www.teamovercome.net/p1000/?page_id=17
you will have to download a few things, and install via Odin.
It should revive without problems.
then you can flash CM9 again.
Just out of curiosity, you have a GSM P1000, haven't you?

So ok, you are italian, so you have GSM Galaxy Tab 7. First, you need to download this ROM - http://depositfiles.com/files/92u33nqd4 . In ZIP package you will found .tar file, save it somewhere. Then download this package - http://depositfiles.com/files/3firqbyds . Extract last package and install Samsung USB drivers. Now put your Tab into what’s call the download mode (volume down + power key). Open the Odin3_v1.7 folder and fire up the Odin3 program. Now connect your Tab to the computer with the USB cable. You will see yellow COM port (in my case it is COM 19 - http://bit.ly/N6SQ6W). Now select PIT and look for the following file - gt-p1000_mr.pit. Select PDA and look for .tar file from the first download. Select Phone and look for JPZ Modem folder and select modem.bin file. Picture - http://bit.ly/Lsv1UI. Click Start and wait. Done.
Edit: You can download all the files from here in one package - http://www.teamovercome.net/p1000/?page_id=21 (RESTOCK PACKAGE)
Thank you for precision... I'm downloading from overcome site... GB-Stock-Safe-v5.zip, restock package... I hope it'll correct, GB is for Great Britain, IT for Italy... However I'll follow your instruction...
I tried with odin3 1.7 to restore my galaxy, but I didn't see com port... Maybe I was wrong something...
Last question... If I would CM9, what will I do(or what I will do)???

GB stands for Gingerbread aka Android 2.3, but never mind. If you don't see COM port (as I showed in the pic), you must install drivers (also install drivers from usb_drivers_GalaxyS_x64 folder, if you use 64 bit Windows OS and look for any devices in device manager)
My tab restored... Works perfectly now... But I would cyanogenmod 9... Searching in youtube, I found this youtube channel:
_youtube.com/user/VioTutorials
In two videos, I saw how to root TAB and how to install CM9... He proposes his packet... Are this videos correct??? Can I follow them???
_youtube.com/watch?v=9qrwDDd205o to root
_youtube.com/watch?v=q8FCY4JpgFQ to install
Just re-stock using the Overcome guide, stick CM9 on sdcard, reboot into recovery, wipe data, flash zip, DONE!
Its as simple as that.
It's not too simple for me... Could I follow youtube's videos??? Are they correct??? Do I need super-user???

Ok, I understand. If you want CM9, first you need to root your device and install CWM. Download this file - http://depositfiles.com/files/b66r4ra2o. Put your Tab into the download mode. Fire up the Odin3 program. Connect your tab to the computer. Select PDA and look for CF-Root-TAB7_XX_OXA_JQ1-v3.3-CWM3RFS.tar file. Click Start and wait. Your device is rooted.
Download CyanogenMod 9 - http://get.cm/?device=p1. Copy cm-9-20120703-NIGHTLY-p1.zip to your tab internal SD card. Boot into the ClockworkMod Recovery. Select the option to Wipe data/factory reset. Then select the option to Wipe cache partition. Third, select Advance and select Wipe Dalvik cache. Go back. Select Install zip from sdcard. Select Choose zip from sdcard. Select the cm-9-20120703-NIGHTLY-p1.zip. Device will reboot. Select install zip from sdcard once again. Select Choose zip from sdcard. Select the cm-9-20120703-NIGHTLY-p1.zip once more. Select reboot system now after installation. You're on CyanogenMod 9.
Very very very useful... Simple and accurate... Thanks... Now I'll install google apps... System is very reactive and stable...
Last question... If I want to update my nightly to tomorrow nightly(maybe), I need to flash every time or can I update automatically cyanogenmod with some setting???
ps:I select cyanogenmod zip archive one time, system reboot and installation continued automatically without choose zip archive one more again... Maybe in last nightly cyanogenmod team changes their settings....

To be honest, I don't know. I just download latest nightly from CyanogenMod site and flash it. All settings and apps from previous nightly remains, so I don't ask for automatically update, because all process last just 2-3 minutes.

No, staying uptodate and updating is really easy. Just install Goo Manager from market and it will alert you of updates and download them for you. You simply then reboot into recovery and flash over your current install and your system is updated, keeping all files/apps/data etc.
Thanks, I'll prove it... Because today we have a new update...
Yesterday I left tab with 51% of battery... Today I found it with 0%... I didn't use it and it discarged automatically???
I don't update yet... A doubt rose in me... Do I need to wipe like first installation my tab??? Or can I install directly??? Thanks...

If you are alreAxy on cm9, you don't need to do any wipe or reset after updating newer build.

Hi,
device info:-
samsung galaxy tab p1000
running 2.3.3 stock firmware
rooted with doomslord kit
i am new to flashing an android
i have downloaded and decrypted a firmware from checkfus downloader
question:-
1. Is the overcome's stock safe v5 zip and the checkfus downloaded zip same???
Please reply asap.
Wholehearted thanks for your help
I think checkfus downloads are many. You can't compare. They differ even amongst each other.
Overcome stock safe zip is not just a rom.
It is a package containing Odin, drivers, and modem radios, as well as JQ1 stock rom.

When you say factory reset do you mean the "Factory data reset" under privacy? or did you successfully install the Safe-Stock-Rom from Overcome's website?
There is a complete guide to how go from stock rom to Overcome 4.1.0 here: http://www.teamovercome.net/p1000/?page_id=17
I successfully completed it the other day and works perfectly on my Galaxy Tab.

Hi SGTABHI,
You have heard wrongly. I am not a dev, just a busy body trying to help
Dimitrix points rightly to overcome guide.
The images there are broken, so go here instead
Go to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20974872
See the guy phlooke posted a cached copy of the overcome guide.
Download it, it is a .PNG graphic file.
Now, you don't need to go through the whole restocking. We only need an overcome kernel 4.0 so that you have cwm.
So,
1) download overcome 4.0 kernel tar file and keep it in your PC
2) download aokp build 38 and gapps-ics from the link in aokp post. Put both on external SD card.
3) read the guide and jump to the part that guides you to flash overcome kernel.
Make sure Odin can see your tab and everything looks exactly like in the picture.
4) flash the overcome kernel and the tab will reboot. There will be a female robotic voice. Stimpz0r recommend no need to wait for finish. Just force power off the tab.
5) power up to recovery by pressing volume up and power button.
I find it a bit tricky sometimes, maybe the way I hold the button. But you will get there.
6) from cwm recovery, choose to install update from external SD card and browse to aokp zip file and install. Some message about checking bml/mtd and you see the tab reboot.
7) you may get a boot loop, it may not boot into recovery, or it may go direct back to recovery. If it does that it is normal.
First time coming from bml to mtd will do that.
Just flash aokp one more time.
You will notice the cwm is not the overcome one anymore. It looks similar but it is not. You will have to browse to internal SD card instead, because this recovery somehow calls your external SD as internal SD.
8) so flash aokp again, and when completed, flash gapps-ics
9) when completed just reboot and sit back and wait till it is done!
Remember if anything go wrong you may have to restock to gb stock safe. But quite unlikely.
Good luck.

I have just wasted quite a bit of your time. Seems like you are asking about Mobile Odin !
But anyway it should be the same.
Just put overcome kernel tar in sdcard and use mobile Odin to flash it.
I am not familiar with mobile Odin, but it should match closely to Odin.
One guy even told me it works for restocking to stock safe!

Little chance to brick.
Brick only happens if you broke the boot loader.
Yes, I guess flashing checkfus download via Odin should kind if "restock".

Priyana, thanks a lot for the guidea mate, very helpful.
Thinking of flashing my Tab with CM9. Some questions though.
How easy will it be for me to revert from ICS straight back to Overcome? Can I just flash Overcome kernel again, then flash Overcome ROM?
Will that work?
Also quick question while we are here, how stable is ICS? Can it play 3D games like Fifa and Nova without crashing?
Cheers mate!

No, you will need to do repartition with the correct pit file to go back to GB. You will need to do it via odin or heimdell.
ICS now is quite stable for daily use. but some lags in some 3d games.

As long as you installed AOKP SGT7 or CM9 correctly you shoul have root access.
1. Download Root Explorer from Google Play store if you don't have one yet.
2. Download the bootanimation zip file and rename it to bootanimation.zip
3. Using Root Explorer, go to /system/media folder. Change access to R/W by click the R/W button on the top.
4. Find and rename the original bootanimation.zip to origboot.zip.bak.
5. Move the new downloaded bootanimation.zip to /system/media

IN AOKP SGT7:
1.Go to System Settings > Rom Manager> Navigation Bar > tick Auto hide.
This only work if the games or apps actually support auto full screen.
2. On home screen, Add > Shortcut > System UI >Toggle NavBar
This will allow you to manually do hide NavBar/status bar for full screen.
3. Go to System Settings > Rom Manager > Power Menu Options > tick Show Navigation Toggle. When you want full screen, just long press power button, you will notice new Navigation Bar Controls toggles. Press the power toggle under there.

Many thanks, as I don't have much experience with this phone. (Although I have many years experience with flashing android roms)

might be redundant saying this but in cwm itself have you flashed the 6.0.1.4 update within itself ald?

Hello,
Today for the first time I installed Android on my touchpad(I know I am very late to the party!). I first tried to install the Fat n Creamy ROM(12/02 build)sing ACMEInstaller2 with the ROM zipfile, moboot 0.35 and gapps zipfile in cminstall folder. After flashing the ROM, which I believe didn't properly happen due to some incompatibility or incorrect install method, and so on reboot after flashing I got no option for android in moboot, only webos, reboot and shutdown options were there. Then i retried by putting just the ROM in cminstall folder, which didn,t work either. So I ended up installing official CM9 ROM for now using the update tenderloin zip file, CM9 zip file, moboot and gapps fix in the cminstall folder, which worked perfectly and I am typing this from it! But now I want the Fat n Creamy ROM...how do I install it? Can I install it on top of this or do I have to format and reinstall? If so, how do I do it? Thanks!

No , I mean when you boot up among the choices you have will be either clockwork or TWRP that is the recovery I am referring to , either will give you the option to install a DL zip.

What are you using ?

I noticed I do not have any option for CWM or TWRP in the moboot at restart, only webos, webos recovery, cyanogenmod, reboot and shutdown. But I do have CWM installed as I just updated it, I can just go to the ROM manager in the apps and start CWM flash recovery from it...can I do it that way? Also can just flash the ROM on top of my current CM9 installation and will my apps be deleted?

You can do that and if you flash without doing a system wipe you will retain all your apps.
Possibly an easier way for you would be to DL Goo manager from play store and then install open recovery script which will appear as shown in the screenshot below after you hit the 3 dots in the top right hand corner. Say yes to everything and it will install the latest TWRP for you.
You could then use goo to browse compatible Roms and DL SGA's and use it to flash the Rom/zip for you as shown in the second pic.
Which ever method you choose do make a backup before with your preferred recovery either CWM or TWRP.
I hope this helps.

One last question, which one would you say is better, the latest Nightly from CM team as of today's release or the Fat n Creamy? And yeah, would you happen to know how to get the CWM recovery option in the moboot menu? Thanks a lot for all your help!

Probably the nightly but only because it is the most recent. However whichever you initially go for make a backup then try the other and make another backup that way you can relatively easily switch between the two in order to decide which you prefer.
Have fun.

Just saw the edit, DL Rom toolbox lite and edit the default recovery but it should show up in moboot anyway.
Can you post a screenshot of your boot folder please.

Use Rom toolbox , screenshot should be an option when holding the power off button , you sound a little bit new to this lark (I only started 6 months ago) so don't worry if you can't find it.
Can/ have you actually gone into CWM as I am not sure that it's installed because it would/should show in the moboot menu.
Check and let me know. If its not I think Goo manager and TWRP may be an easier option.

Here are the screens for boot folder. And as I mentioned before I believe I have CWM installed as the first thing that popped after flashing the ROM was an update for CWM.
According to your screenshots (Well done). You don't as there is no ulimage called CWM/ clockwork or TWRP . I suggest the Goo route to install TWRP once done it is VERY user friendly, then you can make backups before proceeding any further, then if you wish and are not happy use is to install a CWM zip.

Hello,
Today for the first time I installed Android on my touchpad(I know I am very late to the party!). Thanks!

It is just name of the ROM, and the developer writes you clearly in the first blue field, in the first text line:
Android Base CM10.1.3. RC1 JellyBean
JellyBean is not ICS (ICS is 4.0.x) so you need Gapps for CM10.1x / Android 4.2.x
CyanogenMod 9 is based on ICS
HELP needed for RemICS Odin installation
Not sure whether to start a new thread or not so for the sake of making xda a little less cluttered i will first post my query here:
It refers to the RemICS ROM thread already mentioned
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2300693
This looks like a great ROM and i would like to do a one time flash using Odin
Are there any install methods using Odin. I see there is a full download on the page but it appears to be for a I9003. Have searched all over and not seen anything as yet
FYI: I am currently running DarkysROM JVQv10.2 Extreme Edition, firmware 2.3.4
Kernel Version 2.6.35.7-I9000XXJVQ-CL281085
thx in advance :good:

This isn't meant to be flashed via Odin.
Download the rom + addons + gapps + CM9 (you don't need CM9 gapps). You can download the rom + addons from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2075058
1.) Backup everything you need to- call logs, SMS, bookmarks, etc with Titanium or other methods of your choice
2.) Reboot into recovery. Perform the three wipe combo (data, cache, Dalvik)
3.) Flash CM9. You'll probably have to flash it twice- once for the kernel, another time for the rom. Let it boot.
4.) Once CM9 has booted, check that you still have reception.
5.) Reboot into recovery again and do the wipe combo. This time choose to flash the base rom. You'll need to flash it three times- once due to the incompatible partition (first flash overcomes this), another time for the kernel, a third time for the rom.
6.) Once the base rom's finished flashing, reboot. Check you still have your IMEI- you'll know if you still have reception.
7.) Reboot to recovery, flash addons (flash Addons then Addons_V1)
8.) Reboot
9.) Back to recovery (AGAIN), flash gapps.
Unfortunately a one-time flash with Odin isn't possible. But the endless flashes you have to do for RemICS V6 is well worth it

thx for your reply and apologies for getting back to you late.
If only i could do it the way you suggested but for some reason (me) i have messed the phone so that it now no longer is able to mount the external SDCard so putting the relevent zip files on the ext card is useless because in recovery mode using CWM these files fail to show.
I note that via CWM it shows the card as unmounted. If i try and do a mount it fails.
any ideas?
thx

What about your internal storage?
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk HD
Here is where my noob-ness kicks in.
What internal storage is available by default on the Note1? Is it just the internal sdcard?
what puzzled me when I last flashed with odin (repeated it a number of times as I was trying to get the device to recognise ext sd card) to get the current Darky Extreme rom on (which is working fine no problem at all) is that there was still some relic directory structure left over. These were all empty folders visible when navigating within CWM. Didn't matter what type of formatting I did they wouldn't go. To summarise: much confusion and something got twisted.
So questions arising are:
-How to nuke the internal disk/card properly so there are no remnants prior to me doing another darky reinstall?
-Then, how to copy a zip file to internal card but still have it remain after the format and wipes that would precede a zip install?
-How to fix the device to mount the ext sdcard? FYI other sdcards can't be mounted either. I have tried 4 different ones. And here's the kicker-once booted I go to file manager and there I can see and access all the files/folders on the external card!!! So it's definitely a phone problem as opposed to a sdcard problem. Something got flagged along the line.

Hey guys I have a i9305 and my carrier is Vodafone (Australia) still hasn't released 4.4 yet.. So I've been on 4.3 for a while now, which is pretty disappointing. My mate was telling me that I could get 4.4 if I had CM, the only bad thing is that I've got no clue how to install.. Well I do but I can't find the right guide.. They either lack in the details/information on the install, there outdated or the videos are poorly made..
Could someone help me out and point in the right direction? Maybe leave a link or a video etc..? I also haven't touched or changed anything in my phone it is completely stock.
Thanks guys!
Thing you need:
1)An unlocked galaxy s3 (The I9305 version comes unlocked so dont worry)
2)A rooted galaxy s3 with CWM
3)CM 11 rom file, and GApps for CM 11
Steps:
1)To root and install CWM, go to youtube and search "how to install cwm on galaxy s3" a video by MrW0lf should come up(Im new in XDA so i cant post links, sorry)
2)Get CM 11 and Gapps (Google it, once again i cant post links sorry)
3)Put both files into internel/external SD card
4)Boot into cwm (power off, then press volume down, power and home key at the same time, once you see samsung galaxy s3 logo, let go)
5)Optional: Do a backup in cwm.(go under backup and restore and click backup)
6)wipe data factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache(wipe dalvik cache button is under advance)
7)choose install zip from SD card and go to where ever you put the files
8)Flash CM11 first then the Gapps
Hope this helps:good:
You should not get any problems, but if you do, just reply, i will do my best to help

You can find everything you need to know in that topic. You shouldn't flash a 4.4 rom just for the sake of running 4.4 though. 4.3 stock with AGNi or Boeffla kernel is fine.

Vodafone customers in Australia have been waiting for at least 8+ months now for 4.4, I just want it for it's extra features. And yeh I've searched that thread but it doesn't really tell you step by step on how to do it..
Basically just want to be able to use 4.4 without different kernals etc..? Just CM 11 if that's possible.

No, if there were then you could just flash an official 4.4 rom onto your phone. Before you can install CM you need to put a custom recovery on your phone. You can do this either by flashing one using Odin / Heimdall or by rooting your phone and then installing rom manager from the play store and having that install CWM for you. I used the latter method on my phone, it's up to you which one you choose though.
I'll explain the latter method since it's the one I used, you have to understand that doing this can break your phone if you don't follow the steps perfectly though. This guide explains how to root your phone http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/galaxys3-lte-gti9305-root-android43-jellybean-xxeumkc-530002 . After step 11 you have to download this http://download.chainfire.eu/452/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.02.zip , unzip it, go to the folder called "common", drag the superuser.apk file onto your phone or ext sd card and install it using "my files" (default samsung file browser). After that, run supersu, let it disable knox and then go to the play store, download rom manager, click install clockworkmod and choose the i9305 one.

So root, CWM and CM and GApps I should be alright? Would I still be on the 4.3 firmware and then I'll just have to update to 4.4 through the menu? Not sure how that part works.. But I'm starting to understand it a tiny bit.
Sucks how the auto installer works for the S3 but not for the S3 LTE..

1. Root your phone
2. Install CWM using Rom Manager
3. Put CM and Google Apps on your sd or ext sd (the .zips, don't unzip them)
4. Follow the instructions in the first post http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development-i9305/rom-cyanogenmod-11-0-official-t2524516
To boot into recovery press power + volume up + home. To flash things you have to navigate using the volume buttons to "install zip", press power and then either choose zip from sdcard (internal) or sdcard1 (external) depending on where you put the .zip files. To wipe things just go back to the main page and there is an option that says wipe data / factory reset. I highly recommend that you make a backup of your phone using CWM on your external SD and backup the efs using the guides in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...warning-guide-backup-restore-imei-nv-t1946915 before flashing CM.
After flashing CM your phone will automatically be on 4.4.

The stable version is really old so just read through the last pages of that topic I linked and see what people say is a good nightly. You can remove everything except the CWM backup. Although, it is good to leave at least one custom rom on your sd card in case your phone soft bricks while you are out somewhere. Remember to back up your contacts and text messages before wiping your data as well, SMS Backup and Restore is good for the texts and you can just copy your contacts to your sim card. Also, if there are any apps you don't want to lose then make sure to back them up before wiping your data.
