When I had overcome if im not mistaken ICS i had 3g connectivity, but cam wasnt working still, so it was a ROM back in March, came back to the site today, and saw Nightly ROM fixed mostly everything.
Soo, I just put the ZIP folder into tablet, and it installed via recovery and it works fine, but no 3g connectivity.
I even made it go back to Stock Gingerbread, flashed OverCome Kernel via Odin, then installed CM9 again via recovery still no luck.
I keep getting baseband version - P1000XXJPZ
Kernel- 2.6.35.13-g8d814c4
Any help will be appreciated.
What base and you need?
Just get the modem.bin and stick it in /radio/
No need fancy flashing of modem on mtd rom

i dont see a /radio/ in mass storage.
Should I just Download the Modem, and zip it via recovery.?
No,
it is not in Mass Storage
It is in the root of your device.
Use ES Root Explorer
Unzip the modem.zip of your choice
copy the modem.bin to /radio/modem.bin replacing the one there.
Do you know which baseband you need?

Hi,
i am currently running Darky 9.0.2 (which is by the way just awesom!!).
I was wondering if i could enhance my battery life by using another modem than the JPY which is the fundament of darkys rom.
I've heard that jpe is considered to be much less battery draining than jpy, is that correct?
If yes, can i just put the modem of jpe in modem port of odin and flash (without) repartition? Or does it not work if i am on darkys which is based on jpy?
Where can i get the modem?
Thanks for your answers =)
kind regards
Than
How would you remove the modem file from the rest of the .tar file? as far as I can find all firmware files seem to come as one .tar file that you use in PDA to flash.
From where i read somewhere else, JP5 modem is good for battery life.
Go to docs thread, and under the modem section you will see various ones. Choose the one you want then flash via clockwork recovery.

Can somebody post exact link to JPE modem? Many thanks...
Is it possible to update JPE modem file via ROM manager -> Install ROM from SD card and than choose update.zip with ONLY modem file?
I am asking because I cannot access to CWM on my rooted official Froyo 2.2.1 since it has Samsung Recovery, version 3e which does not support loading update.zip files?
I am waiting for experts and helpful answers. Thanks.
Just to recovery mode than flash JPE modem that's it
I personally use JPE modem which is great compared to ther modems I tried
at the moment my fone is being unpluged for 38hrs with 36% battery left

Thank you for this
Can you also please tell me how to flash this ?
Downloading now , this is a good to have for warranty purpose
Install Kies on your computer, connect your phone and make sure that all the drivers installed correctly. Download Odin to your PC. Extract tar file from the ROM. Put the phone into download mode (vol. down+home+power buttons), start odin, connect the phone via USB. Choose continue on the phone, make sure that only two boxes are checked in odin - Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time. Choose PDA button in Odin and select tar file you extracted before. Choose START button. The phone will reboot after the flash. Done.
Use this method only with stock firmwares. Methods are different for custom ROMs.
any deodex indian rom...or kk3 kernel cf root.

Its simple...assuming you have efs back up and you know what you are doing. I have no responsibility...all credit goes to chainfire the developer.
Open mobile ODIN...select open file ...select the downloaded firmware from sd card folder...press flash. its simple and working 100%. I did it so many times. if you have issues or not confident...please PM me, I'll help you.

Download easy. Multiupload file, no password.
Is this an untouched ROM. I was unable to find the original untouched ROM and from what I see/think it seems touched or perhaps a pre-release version?
Can someone please provide input. This does not seem to be the patched version that we had a minor update 0.8MB with.
I am using this version of rom only, its great only, might need a lil improvements on battery management. overall its good

Not sure how I messed up my Bell Vibrant.
I rooted it but was stuck with 3E recovery.
So I tried to flash speedmod via Odin.
The phone went into bootloop.
So I tried Flashing Darky Rom through Odin, pit file, re-partition the works
Then it went into Recovery on reboot where I saw that the SD card wasn't mounting.
So I tried to flash dbdata.rfs.tar but this changed nothing, just the same bootloop, no mounting of the SD card again.
So what can I do? Could my flashing attempts have actually caused a hardware problem?
I have Download mode fine and via Odin everything installs but can't get past the failure to mount the SD card.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
No a flash with Odin can never cause a hardware problem.
Have you unmounted the sd card while flashing?
Bad topic subject :-/
I don't think I unmounted intentionally. Is there anywhere I can simply use Odin to clean install a whole new OS which will remount the SD Card?
I've been using Odin for a while and been flashing Roms with CWM with lots of phones. This is the wife's phone and I decided to trick it out for her for Valentines day. And I bricked it! I feel like such an ass, she's been understanding so far, but if I don't get it sorted I'm in the doghouse

I usually get firmware from here and its always work great. The stock bell Canada one is under North America 2.3.3 ugkg3. Use a 512 pit file and repartition aswell. If this works you can always upgrade the pda with jw1 2.3.6 and root later but sounds like you just want to get it working first.

Thanks so much. I'll check it out and report back.
vanisleryan - thanks so much. I really appreciate it. It's all running fine again.
What is the safest way to root and overcome the 3E recovery block so I can just put roms on the SD card and flash from recovery mode?
Thanks again
Rooting depends on what firmware you used. You need to find the appropriate kernel and flash it in odin as a pda.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
I have a bell Canada galaxy s also and I'm running jw1 2.3.6 as my pda, kg3 as my phone, and kg3 as my csc. You can mix and match the files so if you download the jw1 firmware from the link I gave you, just use the pda file and use the phone and csc files from the kg3 firmware. After that is installed download the file at the bottom of the first post in this link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112908
You want the one for jw1, one has a "bm" on it one doesn't, you want the one that doesn't. It does not need to be extracted. Flash in odin as pda. Then you will be rooted. I don't know if that kernel contains the cwm apk, you may need to do a search for it. As you will need cwm to install custom roms. Pretty sure it's in that thread somewhere. Just do a search.

I have the Tmobile Galaxy tab, I did the update from Froyo to Overcome 2.3.3 to CM10 4.1.2. I would like to know how to downgrade back to Gingerbread in case I should change my mind??? Any help would be appreciated.
you use overcome method to restock (Odin with pit file and repartition)
Use the latest overcome, the link is in my signature.
Download the GB-stock-safe-v5 and the pdf guide, jump to page 7, flash as per picture, and you get GB stock.
Flash using Odin the overcome kernel 4.0 tar, and you will have CWM and ready to go again.

Hi "priyana", when changing modem on CM10 I can still use Odin correct?
No, unzip the rom, paste the desired modem.bin in the right place in the rom, and zip it annd sign it...or place it in the right place in the system folder after flashing the rom using something like root explorer

I need to flash a stock ROM on my original Note, so I downloaded a stock ROM zip file from Sammobile and stored it on my internal memory. The current ROM on my Note is the Union ROM LT4, with the latest Speedmod kernel. I went into recovery, wiped data and did factory reset, and then tried to flash the new stock ROM by selecting the zip file, but the flashing fails. I'm not sure why this is happening. Am I missing something?
