[Q] DEAD Internal SD card? PLEASE HELP FRIENDS!!! - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey friends, I really need your help... I have galaxy s gt-i9000. I had installed RemICS-UX rom (ICS 4.0.4) there was no problem.. but suddenly one day when I connected my phone to PC, nothing happened! I mean no notification, no prompt like usually, the phone thought that I have connected it to a charger! it started charging . I removed and reinserted, again charging! I thought it was from problem and I was bored with that rom . so I installed darkyrom ics v11.0 but still same problem.
I did some tests. I tried connecting phone with different usb port, different cable, different computer but still no luck so I am 100% sure that there is no problem with my PC nor with my USB poet or drivers or my cable.. the problem is with me phone.
i did research and found link on Google on xda about SD card dead.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193010
So do you think my internal ad card I'd dead?
and yes By the way I can access my internal sd card through my phone.. it just doesn't connect with anyone's PC. so is my internal SD card dead? if yes please tell me how to fix it? I read that post he uses an external SD card also.. but I don't have any external SD card and I don't use any. so I request you please tell me steps without having ext. SD card... and please reply ASAP...

next time(al time) when you install new rom:wipe cache, davilk cache, wipe data from recovery after go install-from sd the rom.make this and reflash the rom.

Does RemICS have FastCharge? If yes, then disable and try again. Another option would be to try to install another kernel.
Also try another cable, maybe it's broken.

hey friends thanks for your help... but actually I don't know what happened and my phone got connected ... there was no problem with my cable and nor with fast charge (It was turned off already)... it just happened suddenly... I removed the battery and again put it in.. IT WORKED!!!!

[Q] Need fast help

hello, i was rooting my galaxy s i9000. and something is wrong here. evrything was okey finished, but phone allways rebooting when it shows programs starting read sd card and then it reboot and do same again.
If you are using an External SD, power the phone off (or do a battery pull it necessary) and take the external sd out. Then try powering the phone back up.
I've had the exact same phone symptoms from an external sd card dying on me before...

Solved problem with speedmod kernel, and odin flash program. Thank you for that guy who tryied to help me.

Can't use my phone as mass storage.

Before I can easily do this but after flashing Huexx mod there's no way I can make it work. I'm running nova8 anyone can help?
Try to reinstall drivers in your computer/laptop ..
Well I already tried it.my phone was just charging, and it can't be detected by my pc sad.
i also had this problem.. all i did was reinstall drivers then once i plugged my phone to my PC there's a notice on my PC that it was installing and detecting device so i waited for it to finish but it was unsuccessful.. i tried doing it again until i got a message that it was successful and i think it worked at my 3rd or fourth try though..
Try with other USB ports.
i also had this problem. i just formatted my phone. it helped
but before you do that, try to see if the phone is on debug mode
I have this same problem, already booted as factory, installed like 3 times the PC Suit IV and the USB drive, and i can't change it to massive stora mode nor sinc with my pc.. dont know what to do...
Any help would be great
Thanks..

Last week I flashed Nova#07 with CM7#20 Nightly on my GFs LG P970... after a couple of days she asks me why some of her apps have disappeared (namely all the ones migrated to the SD card) I do a check and notice that the SD card isn't mounted for some reason, so I go ahead and try to mount it but it won't recognise anything in the slot. So I took the card out and tried to hook it up to the PC and still no dice - not even the PC recognises it... both the stock and custom ROM backups were on that card too. >_< 1x fried 16gb card.
I **** my pants and decide to try and mount another card just so that I can perform a backup and transfer it to the PC ASAP... but it doesn't want to mount any cards (just keeps repeating "safe to remove card" whenever I try), even from within ClockworkMod recovery mode - it just says "Error mounting SD card!").
I'm a bit stuck now, I can't flash anything in this state and we're stuck with on-board storage that can only be written to from within the phone... and I don't feel safe wiping/factory resetting anything in case the SD reader is physically dead. It seems to me like the reader died taking the 16gb card with it and now cannot accept anything else.

Do you have a standard SD card reader you can try your card on? Or another phone? Make sure the card is functioning. If you have another SD card try that in the phone.
Let's see if we all suffer from the same problem.
Turn phone off.
Remove battery.
Put battery back.
Turn phone on.
After it booted completely, plug it to USB again.

Upgrade from 2.3.5 without USB?

Hi,
I have a Galaxy S (I9000) which the USB is not working (I have tried cleaning it, different cables, different computers). I am not sure if the issue is due to a corrupt ROM image? I only say this because when I have the USB cable connected, and turn on the phone I get a picture of the battery (flat) with the white wheel/ring which freezes in the same position and nothing happens afterwards - I can only boot the phone with no cable connected.
As I do not have any USB connectivity, it means I cannot use Odin to perform any upgrade.
Anyone have any suggestions?
thanks
I have been searching the forums and I have installed Clockwork Mod recovery, but I would like to do a backup before I try anything. To perform a ROM backup you need root access. I have tried Gingerbreak but it does not want to work.
I know this is a newbie question and maybe my head is a bit full today of all the reading. Is it possible to download a ROM i.e. slimics, copy it to the SD card (external), put the phone into recovery mode and update from the SD card?
Or have I missed a major fundamental area
thanks

[HELP] Possibly fulling dead SGS

Hi!
I'd like to explain the s*** I'm in right now.
My phone, when running under slim bean, was not recognized to my computer when plugged in. So couldn't transfer files via usb
I downloaded slim bean rom, flashed stuff, got stuck into bootloop. Can't access my recovery anymore.
Now, the usual stuff you do is getting into download mode, then flash the kernel in the tar file.
BUT. My phone can access download mode, but my computer says the same old s***, deviced not f****** recognized. So I can not flash anything now.
Is it a dead end? Have you ever heard about this weird issue?
Do you have any idea ?
I tried doing the same step on my friend's computer. Didn't work as well, same damn issue
I'm offering a damn pint of beer to the one who can help me :good:
Thanks !

Unfortunately it is not about the drivers....
Run through the install step of drivers on my friend's laptop, same error message

try My Android Solutions for a solution
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power
button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card....
Tips before Flashing:-
Backup all your important files, contacts, SMS, game data, images etc to PC or
Ext SD card. or make Nanadroid Backup If you have CWM
Backup your EFS Folder to PC or Ext SD card
Enable USB Debugging on Phone. Touch menu>Settings>Applications>Development>
Charge your battery to more than 50% before you attempt any sort of flashing.
Disable Samsung KIES when using Odin. Kill Kies.exe, KiesTrayAgent.exe, &
KiesPDLR.exe using Task Manager on PC
Use only ROM and solution for your model and Wipe x3

Haha when you flash a i9000 with jb or ICS , it is no longer recognized as an i9000. It becomes a nexus s. So use the nexus s USB drivers
