It's something like a wireless phone controller. It connects through Bluetooth and looks like a watch. Very interesting device.

but share your experience after 2 weeks or so. becouse when you get something new, its always cool ... after a while you will see that maybe its not so useful you thought.
Think it would be more useful if it wasn't for the capacitive-style buttons. With proper clickables, it could serve well as a pocketed remote control for music. As it is now, you have to pull "something" out of your pocket to swap tracks... and that "something" might just as well be your phone.
Been thinking about getting one myself, but for the purpose of swapping tracks, cyanogenmod does the trick by fiddling with volume/camera buttons.
are you realy listening musik from your phone! because i need to charge it daily and i even dont whatch movies or like that. i think this phone is just good be stylish and maybe to spend time with playing some games! ;(
This thing is very useful. I use it to check text messages when I'm in school And my phone seems to last longer cuz the screen isn't on as much

Sold my mp4 because of that phone. I don't like to carry so many devices as my friend (Milestone 2 + iPhone + iPod Touch + another mp4 player), one phone is great for me and I really listen to the music all day rly!
And I'm interested in buying LV because of the power of that small device. Music control, wristwatch, facebook, notes, reading messages...
its upto the person as to how useful you would find the item to be fair, I'm quite happy just taking my phone out of my pocket and using it that way... lol but its each to their own preference. Sony released a watch based phone product before i think, and that never really "took off"
Hey Xoomers! Just spoke with the developer of Bang Bang Racing, the game has recently been updated again to fix the control looseness as we requested, and they are really spot on now, I have no issues at all now! They have also lowered the asking price to $3.98..which some people seem to be complaining over if you read the comments in the marketplace. The Developer has been really helpful in making the game work as we requested, and all developers drop prices on their games to attract new buyers etc so I dont know why some people are crying over a price drop. The developer has asked that members of XDA show our support by helping with some positive feedback in the marketplace, so please take two minutes just to acknowledge the fact that they have really been listening to all of our requests. We need to keep developers like these working on android...please pass the word and thank you guys!!
Also, if you have any suggestions, post them on the marketplace...they are open to all ideas to really make this game enjoyable for us all!
i am very happy to hear this.
i love the graphics and style of the game, the controls are the only thing holding it back.
im glad the company realizes this.
i am not expert on gaming and development but maybe just a simple left and rigth button at the bottom of the screen will do. maybe even throw in automatic acceleration to make it simpler?
thats what ive been thinking.
id love to hear about what the developers are throwing around in terms of new controlls. anyword?

hey there..nothing solid yet, but from our chat we may have more than one additional control option, one option may be the tank-like control option in reckless racing or something very similar. This game would be a blast to play and look at once the controls are fixed and our fingers are not blocking the screen. I will pass our info to the developer with your screen name
You can tell them that I love it. It's the first game besides Fruit Ninja that I've found entertaining enough to actually play.
The current controls are a little odd, but I've started using a stylus and that works pretty good.
Offering a different control scheme would take a great looking game with just okay controls to a downright awesome game. Bring it!

Controls do take time getting used to, and I would also love to have a mini map displayed in the corner to see when the corner is coming.

Tell them to take a look at Reckless Racing for how to do the controls. If they can match the level of customization in RR I'd be hugely impressed.
Also maybe ask them if they would like us to beta test their future games because if they had done that I'm pretty sure BBR wouldn't of hit the market with the glaring problem we've all recognised straight away. It's surely better to be proactive rather than reactive.

I had informed the developer when the game was released to implement Reckless Racing controls. He stated that been though he personally hate RR's controls, he would look into adding that as an option. Good try on the beta testing though, but they have people doing that already
Once we have additional control options, I could not recommend this game enough! Looking forward to more tracks being added and maybe multiplayer support!!

1. If this game was produced for monetary gain (obviously it was) the developer was a little silly putting what he preferred into the game, it should be what the mass market would expect/prefer if their going for sales.
2. The beta testers failed big time if they never noticed how poor the game played with the current control scheme and/or weren't able to convince the developer his course of action was wrong.
The oversight has caused the game to be a 3-star game on release when imo it would easily been 4.5 stars but hats off to them for trying to fix it.
Yeah, this is a game that is just crying out for networked multiplayer.

I couldn't agree more. I bought this game, played it for 5 minutes (or tried to) and couldn't control the car at all. Refunded. The game looks great but the controls are not intuitive at all. I would not recommend this game to anyone unless the controls are completely changed.
Anybody tried the new controls ?, I'm holding off for a review or two before I repurchase.
Just got the update... there's four control schemes now.
From right to left:
Full Control - acceleration, brake on the right side, turn left/right on the left side
Auto Acceleration Control - brake on the right, turn left/right on the left side
Split Screen Control - left/right on opposite sides of the tablet, not grouped as above
Point Control - the old method of controlling
Won't lie, so far I'm falling into the Auto Acceleration Control, only braking when I have to, but Full Control does well too. The Split Screen mode is fine, but no braking kills me in the curves. But it's evenly spaced out, unlike the full control layout - the staggered layout of left/right is a bit unintuitive at first, but makes perfect sense a bit later.
Definite improvement. Have had a couple of FC's, but not sure why. This is a 4.5 out of 5.0 now in my eyes.

Glad you like the new controls. The force close seems to happen when you try to start the game from the android market after downloading. Please post all recommendations/feedback as the developer really wants to hear from us. I appreciate the fact that they actually listened to their customers, unlike some developers who make you wait months before updating, these guys got right to work on an update this monday! They will now have my full support as they are going to continue to support Android and Tegra!!
Addendum: The Split Screen method is my favorite. Hands down.
You get to control the car with the turns on either side - like I tend to hold my Xoom - and if you want to brake, slide your thumbs down. 4.75 out of 5.0 now. Having fun and actually getting into the top 5 now easier.
I'm amazed that when in landscape the buttons don't stick to the right hand side like they do on the GNex, it's a terrible waste of real estate.
Do you guys have any ideas if a hack will be possible to achieve this? (Given it's the case with the GNex it can't be that hard I guess?)
Should be renamed to "Soft buttons minor annoyance"
Well you say that, I think I'm going to be DSR'ing the tablet due to it.
Eventually developers will make the Nav bar hideable and most likely moveable and smaller via dpi changes like on the Galaxy Nexus. You might want to give custom ROMs a chance to mature before returning the N7.

I believe modacos rom will be putting it like that real soon
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
its done for a reason.
the majority of newer phones are launching with the 1280x720 resolution with hard keys, and as a result, app devs are designing apps for 1280x720 resolution. our resolution is 1280x800, so what google does is rotate the keys so it uses the bottom 80 rows of pixels, leaving the rendering area at 1280x720 for games and apps. this way, we still get games and apps at full resolution, whereas with devices that keep the soft keys in the same place, the resolution gets cut down to 1196x720, and then games get shrunk to either 1196x720 or 1196x672 with black bars.
i personally have no problem with it at the moment, but ive only had my device for a few hours of play time. ideally, i'd like it relocated to the top so i dont hit it when im playing games, but tis a minor gripe.

Yep, one of many reasons why I wouldn't buy an iPad, I felt a custom mod would fix this and indeed it did
So both the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7 have dynamic capacitive buttons instead of actual physical buttons. I was actually under the impression that this black bar was a separate capacitive display from the main display. Now that I actually see a Nexus 7 in person, this black bar appears to be just a part of the screen.
So am I actually getting 1280 pixels?
If you have root, you can try GMD HideBar XDA.
And GMD GestureControl also supports Nexus7.
These are just root apps, not system mods.
So part of the 7" 1280x800 screen is being used by the controls... I guess except for videos and pictures.

Correct, apps can go full screen, like the default video player, but most don't which is very annoying playing games in landscape mode.
Just to follow up I've now enabled tablet UI (160 DPI) on the N7 and I think that deals with my issues with the softkeys, I will try a mod to anchor them to the right in landscape mod when a free one comes out.
We need a mod. A mod like the CM7 tablet settings, where you have the option to select "Softkeys Left, Right, etc". CM7 also options which softkeys you want, and in what order. Without changing dpi. That would be tits

It uses sort of a hands free function: you can use your hand as a wave gesture to swipe pages horizontal/vertically, it has a feature that if you look away from a video it will automatically pause, etc.
Sounds like a useless gimmick. My Evo 3D had an overly sensitive screen, didn't always have to touch the screen, just be close, and it detected touch. It was pretty annoying.

Lol it was more of a flaw... It was never intended to be like that but it would randomly register touches from your finger before you touched the screen.

If it did you wouldn't want it. The accuracy required to make these gestures reliable is way beyond the technology the S4 has in it, which is why reviewers say it's a gimmick. It either triggers when you don't want it, or doesn't when you do. You'd need something like a Kinect strapped to the top of your phone to really pull that off. The battery drain alone would be devastating.
Add in it likely won't function on any ported ROM or new versions of android. It will be very similar to the 3D where the drivers and other needed stuff won't be available to make it work. One reason I avoided Samsung.
Sent from The ONE using xda premium
the S4 has a specific sensor just to the right of the earpiece speaker for the air gestures. its not as accurate as they make it seem just like the eye tracking isnt very good either. like previously stated its a gimmick. your average consumer is WOWED by stupid crap like that. i felt like an idiot swiping my hand in front of the phone and when using eye scrolling you have to physically tilt your head up and down. all the phone is doing is tracking the movement of your head and using your eyes as a focal point to base amount of movement off of. not to mention you cant be more than a foot or two from the sensor. if you wear glasses like me its really a pain. i guess the reflection in the lenses of the glasses makes it react funny. ive only played with the s4 for a couple days when ive been at my store but all in all im not impressed. im wondering if it will gradually learn your personal body movements and become more accurate. it seems like they took an S3 made the viewing area slightly bigger, new camera, and stupid gesture sensor. if it worked as well as Tony Starks stuff it might be worth playing with lol. even then though its not practical its just something that looks neat when you can get it to work. you can also use Svoice from the lock screen so say you name your phone then hold home key say name so svoice will launch then you say name again to start a command. the ability to launch from lock screen makes me wonder if it will have security issues like the S3 did. i also feel like me having to address the device twice in a row is dumb. i should say "S4 call ...." or "S4 launch ...." not say "s4" wait for svoice "S4 call...." or "S4" wait a few secs "S4 launch...." again i felt like an idiot standing there making swipes and repeatedly saying "S4..." thats just what i named the one at our store. i like google now bc i launch it then say "google" it beeps i say "search target.com for..." and it goes. i wish it worked better as a launcher for apps or taking appointments, sending emails, texts, ect.. i will say svoice has that going for it.
in the end im still holding out for black 64gb HTC One. im getting ready to make a sacrifice to cellphone gods if i dont hear something official soon.

Ugh. I doubt moving away would be enough. Seems the type that would follow you around still rambling. My luck, I would have to leave for dumping my soda on "a paying customer"
i too hope they implement this
1. to be accessible even without controller (i.e. swipe up/down could be used) and
2. to be accessible in the void as well, so that every person can choose for himself how big he wants the screen to be. i do like the void, but it kind of bothers me that the screen is smaller than in the main cinema. sure it makes sense to not have the picture "attack" you too much, but on the other hand, theres movies that attempt to do just that, i.e. gravity.
so, this should be an easily accessible user setting in all theatres including the void, IMO. for some movies, id like to sit in the back of a cinema with some distance, i.e. TV series that generally tend to do more closeup than movies do. for others, i might want to watch them silly close in the void so that they almost fill up the entire FOV, maybe even a bit more than the cinema default does (that would be gravity )
So is this not achievable with just the touch pad? :/
EDIT: Just bought a controller, and it's much much better than swiping with the touchpad. Tried this in the cinema app and it works perfectly. I prefer the very back seat because I can see the whole screen without left or right.
