Hey I think I just bricked my device..
I had CM7 on my incredible s and just wanted to install the new official ICS, because I wanted to sell it.
So I downloaded the following RUU:
http://d-h.st/7UC
Everything finished, the phone booted and got stock at the HTC logo..
I had to leave for 1hour so i just let it on the htc logo.
When I came back home the screen was black and i couldn't turn it on.
When I plug in power the Led flashed 1 time orange and turned off again.
When I connect it to the pc via usb, I hear the usb plugged in sound on my pc but it doesn't show the device..
adb doesn't show the device when i put "adb devices"
Can anybody help me out?
I really need your help!!
Thank you very much!
What happened if you press power button?Atleast can you access recovery or bootloader mode? What was the battery % when you flash the Rom? Try some another battery it might be a problem of battery too.

Okay so I took the battery out for some minutes and inserted it back in again, now its stuck at the htc logo again..
What could be the problem that it isn't booting?
Can't I upgrade from CM7 to that RUU?

Yes I used adb before, but I got a Galaxy Nexus a few days ago, so it could be that i deleted the drivers from the incredible s..

Thank you, but I already had that driver installed.. I checked the device manager and I saw that it has Android USB Devices: My HTC listed..
But when I run adb devices nothing is shown..
EDIT: Maybe thats because I didn't had the chance to turn on usb debugging?
EDIT 2: Would it be possible to install CMW from the sd card?

Atleast your phone stuck at HTC logo then it seems that your device is not bricked. If nothing happens then last way is only HTC service station or may be any dev can help you.

I've tried almost everything to my knowledge. I'm trying to use the instructions on HTCdev.com and when i get to the last page where I type in "fastboot oem get_identifier_token all that returns is <waiting for device>. USB debugging is enabled, I'm in charge only mode, I've uninstalled HTC sync after installing the drivers. I have the SDK tools installed and in the correct location. What the hell else could it be? I'm at my wits end here and looking for any help I can get.

lol. wrong section. but anyways. you need to be in bootloader.. power down. take off battery and put it back. then hold power and volum down till you go to bootloader. then enter fastboot. plug your phone in and you should see. fastboot usb. and then start the unlock process again.

I apologize for posting in the wrong section, I didn't realize I had posted it here, but instead of saying "fastboot USB" when plugged into the computer, it says "fastboot AC" does that make any difference?
Did you manage to get this sorted? You should be in the bootloader (which is in the HTCDev.com instructions)...

Hello, I'm having an issue with my HTC Vivid after I dropped it. It's stuck on the boot screen when I power it on. The phone is completely stock, and I'm hoping I can be guided in the right direction. I did a search for this issue, and found a thread on loading something off my micro SD card, but I can't find the same thread anymore. I've also tried using the official AT&T Vivid ICS RUU from my desktop, but it wouldn't detect my phone.
I've attached an image of my phone, the model, and my boot options.
Thanks in advance!
(alternate image link: http://i.imgur.com/NjQp3.jpg)
You need to make sure you have the HTC drivers....
I forget where to get them... I think there's a thread with the minimal version without HTC sync...
Once you got that... you shut off the phone... pull the battery... put it back in...power and volume down... select fastboot... plug the phone in... make sure it says fastboot USB... then run the ruu...

Success! Thank you!
For anyone else who has this same issue, I used the drivers from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1450105
Installed the drivers through My Computer>Device Manager, and RUU will detect the phone in fastboot mode.

Im having this same issue, after trying to flash android revolution on my unlocked/rooted rogers One, it froze on the successfully installed part and I had to wait for it to die to try to restart it.
I cannot boot into recovery or connect it to my computer in any way, ./adb reboot bootloader doesnt work it says cannot find device.
When I vol down + power the bottom lights just blink and the phone does nothing.
Any idea on how I can reflash the phone?

i'm using xp on all 3 of my computers. my one x connects fine. i all drivers installed including adb.
it wont connect in bootloader, fastboot or recovery either.
Ok i have looked at the device id and it comes up with this in fastboot USB\VID_0000&PID_0000\5&4091F22&0&2
Now i have looked in the usb drivers and this id is not there , so it looks like a driver problem
How can i get this driver with the id in, as i have downloaded many drivers but with no luck.

Uninstall HTC sync and drivers. Reconnect phone, and it should automatically re-install sync manager and drivers. If it does not, however, you need to manually install the drivers. Also, make sure your drivers are up to date. Installing the android sdk might not be a bad idea either.
Thanks for the reply. Tried everything even fresh pc setup . Something in my phone is wrong and cannot get any recognition from it . It shows usb fastboot then changes to ac charging . I have checked in usb drivers and that id is not there so it will not let me install manually either.

Maybe a factory reset of your phone would help. I know that's a hassle, but it might reset or reconfigure whatever was lost or corrupted along the way.
Have done that thanks. Flashes different roms also .. can a different firmware be flashed through terminal emulator. Cannot even mount phone storage through usb. It just keeps alternating between unknown device and nothing.

Wow. Here's a hail mary then. Let the battery run out. Download stock RUU. Connect to PC, and see if fastboot usb comes up. If yes, boot into recovery, and flash RUU. Start from scratch.
I did try that to be honest. Is there anything special I need to know about doing that ..do I let the phone charge fully or anything before I try fastboot. Thanks for your help.

No, let the battery drain completely. Then reconnect it. As soon as anything on the phone shows up (normally the charging sign) get into bootloader. Boot to recovery and flash the RUU. Of course, it's all contingent on recovery being able to read usb, which it should (recovery uses different port and drivers than boot or oem).
Thanks I will give that a go. If that doesn't work is there an update.zip or img I can flash through hboot that will return the phone to stock. ?

If that doesn't work, you could try downloading a zip of your stock, renaming it update.zip (or anything.zip, really), and flashing that. But I'm pretty certain that you'd have to use adb to flash that through recovery too. Good luck with it all, and I hope you get back on track!

To test this, plug your usb cable into the wall charger and see if it charges. If it does, it's working. If not, if you have another micro usb cable, try that. If it still doesn't work, then I would contact HTC about what your options might be (new phone, new usb cable, etc.). Good luck.

Connect the phone to your pc. Cycle through all the different boot modes, boot, bootloader, and recovery. Do you hear any sound from the pc indicating it's picking up a device? If so, it's working, it's just not showing up while in android connected to pc, which would indicate an issue with drivers on your pc. If a sound happens during boot to recovery, leave it on recovery and get into adb mode on pc and attempt to flash the RUU. As soon as it's flashed completely, disconnect it from pc, completely uninstall ANYTHING having to do with HTC, android or 3rd party drivers. Then, reconnect the phone to your pc, and see if it auto installs the drivers and shows.

Well, I can't think of anything else that would help. I think you should contact HTC and see if they've had other issues similar to yours, or if they can help you, but it sounds like your phone's usb is defective. If your phone came unlocked, you should be able to send it and receive a new one. Other than that, I really have no more suggestions. Best of luck.

Hi,
I am using Desire C for more than a year, and i have been using customs ROMs starting with Nameless. Recently I flashed NOPE Kernel, and installed Simplicity ROM, 4.1.2. After that i am not able to flash the boot image again. It is connecting properly when in connect to the system, but once i get into Bootloader mode, suddenly i get a message "Device not recognized", and i cannot connect anymore. I tried installing and re-installing all kinds of drivers available for Desire C and HTC, but no luck. Can anyone help on this issue... Please.....
Weirdness. What commands did you try? Type adb devices in CMD and if numbers come up then it is connected

When it reboots into BOOTLOADER, it doesn't show FASTBOOT USB, but when move up and down using volume keys, it shows FASTBOOT USB. Not returning anything for FASTBOOT DEVICES. Tried to flash, showing "waiting for device"... and after sometime, got the error "windows did not recognize the usb device"...

Did You check Your USB cable? It could be that it is failing...
Other than that, connect your phone in fastboot mode, wait until error pops up, then do this:
Start command prompt (as administrator in windows 7, 8...) and type this (followed by enter):
Code:
set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
and after that line, type this:
Code:
start devmgmt.msc
Now try and find devices with exclamation, there should be your android device. Now right click and uninstall it. Then plug out your phone, and plug it back in. If it doesnt't work after this, I'd say that all you can do then is to reinstall htc drivers.

Talking about new cell, I am planning for HP Slate Voice Tab 6... Any one, any suggestions on that...
Now the touch buttons are not working properly. They keep playing dead sometimes... I think my cell is coming to EOL... lol...
