Is it possible that doesn't exist a software for windows to control an Android device from desktop PC?? Android Screen Cast seems to be the one that works a bit, but not for every ROM (I have a Samsung I9000 with ICS ROM).
Also with Windows Mobile I was able to control my phone from my PC...Android seems to be far away for this purpose
I also tried other software, such as PicMe and others, but nothing...
Have you tried Airdroid?
Or is that not the type of app you were talking about?
I'm looking for a software that shows me the display of the phone. So I can control every thing from PC and not only some features.
Airdroid does just that
But it works only by wifi....I haven't wifi on my desktop pc in office...
edit: ok I logged in by usb teathering...I wil try this app...
Nothing, as I supposed it's not the app for me. It lets you to interact only with some features.
Pocket cloud and pocket cloud explorer both work over data connection too, although if the signal isn't good it may be a bit laggy

Try this... It's a teamviewer Quicksupport app and it's free, might be just what you're looking for.
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamviewer.quicksupport.market.samsung
But why do you need this? can't you just take your phone out of your pocket to check it?
But Teamviewer only works controlling a pc with thr phone. I thibk he mean control the phone with the computer
Sent from my GT-I9001 using xda app-developers app
what your looking for is webkey.you can control you phone and see everything on the screen live from a pc or another android phone. And if you know what you are doing you can change icon and name of the apk and then install it as a system app to start when the phone turns on and runs throw 3g or WiFi.

Its not like reverse vnc, its like, uh, vnc.
This website has all the stuff you need to get a vnc server running on your phone:
http://code.google.com/p/android-vnc/
Note: If you just run the fbvncserver, you can get a vnc server in VIEW ONLY mode. To get full interactive VNC, you need to run a kernel with their patch applied -- do not try to boot off their patched kernel, it is for emulator only. If you want to use their kernel patch, you must checkout the source code -- it comes with the patch file. Apply it to the applicable kernel source and boot off that.
I was looking for the same thing for my EVO. I found an app in the Market called "droid VNC Server" by Jose Pereira that allows you to remotely control your Android phone from a PC wirelessly. I tried it over WiFi and it worked flawlessly for me!
Here's a link to it on Market:
https://market.android.com/details?id=org.onaips.vnc&feature=search_result
(Edit: Sorry, didn't realize this thread was from 2009 until after I hit submit. It was the top Google result for my search for a solution.)
thanks for the info..
it really helps...
some moderator like to lock old thread...if we reply to it..
but it actually helps sometimes..

Yeah, i second this too! I just tried a couple of popular ones like Remote Web Desktop by SmartDog and LazyDroid and none of those two worked. Only webkey worked perfectly!

Anyway to do this or something like this without any internet what so ever? I have no internet and would like to connect phone via USB. Then see screen on computer be able to use Mouse for touch and keyboard to type. Is it possible? Everything I see fails to mention you need to connect to internet to use it either by having DSL cable or tethering for you WiFi data. No internet options for me.
Does the cap have the capabilities to FTP using Bluetooth?
I have a dongle on my pc and I cant seem to connect to it FTp style of looking at all the files and folders of the phone on my PC.
or the other way around...
can this be done without any third party apps or rooting???
Edit:
Whats the difference between DUN and tethering?
Really??? noone?
Am I just asking the wrong questions all the time or in the wrong section???
I barely get any answers...
even an "I dont know" would do... =/

ES File Explorer has bluetooth file browsing like you're talking about and doesn't require root, but it is a third party app. Unfortunately my bluetooth pc dongle is for a kb/mouse combo and does not support OBEX FTP, but it works great browsing my wife's phone.
DUN & tethering are the same thing in the context of Android.
Thank you so much
Just what I needed to know.
I was wondering if it can be done without a third party app. ^^
TY!
What's with the aversion to third party apps? I saw another post of yours that said "no third party apps". I'm not trying to be rude, just curious.

What's the difference between DUN and tethering
I can browse the folders on my phone via bluetooth without any 3rd party tools. Running Windows 7. I don't know what the bluetooth profile is called but both PC and phone need to support it. So we know the Captivate supports it and Windows 7 supports it.

yeah i do this too all the time with STOCK file explorer on both phone and windows.
sync the devices, not conect, just sync once!
from phone, long press file, share, bluetooth, PC
from pc, right click file, send to... , bluetooth.
in vista and win7 there should be a link in "my computer" now too, to browse phone. just have bt switched "ON" on phone
also, on another bt note... my phone didnt have headset options for the computer UNTIL i connected to the phone as headset from the PC first. now the connect to as headset option is on the phone.

but yea I was wondering about it because I was testing the cappy out as stock without any 3rd party app. ^^
and its good to know but I wanted to explore the phone's files and folders on the PC.... which isnt the case with the long press or right click.
Thank you guys so much this has been a great help...
Im trying to go into making some apps or even rom (if i have enough time).
thanks again. ^^
hey. i've been looking for an app that acts as a server for the android display. basically you'd start it, connect via a web browser/vnc/whatever, and have access to the device itself, then be able to control via the mouse.
i found a few apps that allow you to remotely manage/access files and apps on the phone, but not one that actually puts the phone display in your pc.
ideas?
thanks!

Look up, they're linked a couple posts above yours.
Does anybody knows for some solution to remotely control LG x4?
On nexus 4, teamviwer quick support works but on LG does not. VNC server is only over wifi.
Any ideas?
Did u try buil-in app "On-Screen Phone" for remote control ? works great and easy to use.

Is there some software that mimics the LGOP and works with Sony phones? That program and its functionalities is one of the things I miss having on Xperia.

What? Bootanimation porting? What are you talking about?
I ask for a program that allows control of the phone from PC desktop and displays the contents of the display on my PC monitor.
