Hello!
A friend of mine has a galaxy mini but it is locked to a career which i dont know and the phone doesn't recognise the sim.
Is there a way to unlock it? Do you think that rooting and flashing a new rom would help or is there a tutorial which can help me unlock it??
Edit: I dialed the number *#7465625# and in Network Lock it says OFF. However the phone doesn't recognise my sim card.
A simple way is to install a custom rom, or the stock of the regen in which your SIM card is working.

There is a bml method which works and needs root. Search and u'll find it.
If I have a custom rom installed it means i can use any Sim from any mobile operator like Vodafone. orange ??
custom rom does not remove sim lock...
I guess sim lock is a protection in the efs partition. It cannot be removed by flashing new roms or files.... possibly flashing in efs could break your imei no.

hi guys.ive just got a galaxy s and its locked to tmobile its new and boxed and doesnt come with a sim card.thing is im on o2 and i want to unlock it.can it be done without a sim card in the device.i havnt got the phone till tommorow but ive got all the software and instuctions how to do it ready.also it running froyo.does it need root as well.any help will be apprieciated.

you could use ( one click unlock ) not very hard two do,just save efs files then click unlock, one thing though if u are on froyo 2.1 click the the froyo 2.1 option or 2.2 if you on 2.2 froyo,but i think you need root to use this program (mite be wrong)

it depends on the model of the galaxy s. In most cases, you will need to root the phone.
Help Pls
I had successfully unlocked my galaxy s using the procedure suggested on the related XDA forum.. the phone worked fine with a different network later on i accidently clicked the factory reset option.. now although the phone says its unlocked but i cannot see any network signal and the phone does not work on any sim card.
Pls can someone help
PS: I can switch on the phone and perform all other functions.
Try the one click unlock app thingy again, see how that pans out.
Also try this:
Go into settings > network and coonections > mobile networks > and manually choose your provider.
Mine is locked to my network also, but I'm now running Gingerbread. Any way I can get an unlock?
i have a problem with my samsung P1000.
I use the SAMSUNG Galaxy unlock on the market android.
after unlock, i check imei, the imei : 00499010640000.
how can i restore my imei original ?

You can't EVER restore it unless you have a back up file.
it hasn't an other way ? Provider Samsung, can they restore imei ?

my IMEI was change. Do you know how to unlock my Samsung. I verify my Samsung by the code : *#7465625# , and the Network Lock is set to [OFF]. But i can't use other network.
You can unlock your tab by editing a file with a hex editor.
You can go to the market and find an app called sgs2simunlocker by chainfire.
i install sgs2simunlocker. it work with my samsung galaxy tab but it can'ot unlock my samsung

when i click SGS2simunlocker, it has code unlock : 00000000. i think it can't take a code unlock. I use another CardSim but it not recognize the SIM (My samsung is lock by Orange France, now i only use SIM of Orange). when i check *#7465625# , all of information are OFF.
Do you know how i can do ?

Hi everyone,
I have a Rogers (Canada) Galaxy Captivate. I flashed to Serendipity VII, and my CSC is now showing "Unknown", and /system/csc is missing.
I roam with the phone a lot, and I use other countries' SIMs when I can. Will this prevent me from connecting to other networks, should I get this resolved before I do anything further? I tried flashing a CSC-Multi from JVS and it did nothing - just reset all my apps. /system/csc still missing.

Nope. Csc is basically irrelevant. You'll need your phone unlocked to use another providers sim tho if your phone is branded. Look up the efs nvdata hex edit method for the best way to manually unlock your phone if you haven't already.

ok - thx. as for the unlock... here's a weird one. I did it using the 1-click unlocked and tested it with the two local providers (Rogers and Fido). that worked. I then took it to India and tried to put a vodafone / airtel sim - and it wouldn't even find mobile networks! flashed to another modem (JVS), didn't help.
poked around and I think the imei got trashed as it was showing the default junked imei. I restored the efs and re-unlocked, this time using the galaxy unlocked from the marketplace. curious to see if this was the reason why airtel/vodafone were rejecting my phone...
Having some serious issues with my phone. I downloaded an unlock app and it said that the phone was unlocked but when I put in my new SIM it keeps giving me a SIM not provisioned MM#2 pop up. I changed the APN settings for what straight talk requires and the settings are saved but it still isnt working. Do I need to unfreeze the phone and how do I tell if it is? What do I have to do to get this thing to work? :crying:

Even though it says SGS 1/2/3, if you select the GT-i9000 as your phone and give it your nvdata.bin file it will give you a code that will work. At least it did on my Captivate.
Hi every one i lost my mind due to my phone after loading ICS on it i lost network there was a message " enter sim card & restart the phone "
even after go back to 2.1 the same message appeared realy i lost my mind i dont'n know what i have to do to get it back so plz if any one face it

Maybe you can turn on your x8 without sim card
Them put it on again with sim card inside

I tried to flash it with or without the sim card but there was no different no registration for the sim card even with sony update

did you try with another sim card?
Try relocking you're bootloader after reverting to 2.1 and then unlock again if required..
