Just updated to ICS and root with CWM.
Have put in busy box and super user and usb mass storage watcher.
Tried a few apps from market for drive mounting..

Or should i just go back to honeycomb 3.2?

USB - Mass storage

Hi guys ,
I installed Voodoo lag fix. Everything is ok and I understood that I cannot use Kies anymore to browse my phone.
I'm trying the Mass storage option when it ask you by connecting the USB cable.
I see on my PC(W7 64) 2 new drives F and G , but when I click on those it says to "Insert Disk on Removable drive"
What I'm missing ?
Thanks.
Kies has no problem with Voodoo AFAIK. Did you mount your SD from the notification bar?

You see... That I was missing . I thought that is just a notification .
Thanks a milion .
Regarding Voodoo (maybe I'm wrong) , it was saying somewhere on docs that EXT4 file system is not compatible with KIES.
You misunderstood. EXT4 is not supported by windows, but it does not matter in this case as voodoo only converts your data partition (the one your apps are installed onto) it does not touch your internal or external SD (those you are browsing on your computer).

Get "Auto Mount" from market and you'll never need to manually mount the device again

[Q] CM7 USB storage issue

Hello,
recently I flash my O2x with stable CM7 and from then I have issue with usb mounting. I plug the usb on the pc and a USB composite device appears with problem (device can't start). This happens also if enable/disable usb debugging or press the button for the usb storage support. I have try the 173 nightly same thing. To be sure that there is no problem with the pc I have try it on 2 different laptops.
Also to be sure that is CM7 issue and not my mobile I have restore a backup with the stock rom and everything works perfect.
Do we have any idea what is the problem?
Have you installed an LG Mobile driver pack?
in 2 from the 3 pc was installed (the third one is from a friend that has a LG laptop(!) and HTC phone)
I have a similar problem with CM7. I flashed first with NB 157 and now I'm with the latest one but I've never figured how to mount the phone as a usb storage. I use the default CM mounting points. SD card is mounted as /sdcard and internal is /emmc titanium backup, rom manager and all other software works fine with the sdcard, but every time I try to mount it as storage the windows popup that the USB Device cannot be recognized. I've installed the latest drivers from LG'w website. Also I've tried on 2 different PC's both with windows 7 but no luck. Also I've read somewhere in the forums that Dual Mount SD Widget can mount the SD card, i purchased it from the market but it doesn't work.
This is generally an issue with cm7 based roms. It's only reported on Windows and I haven't seen this problem in Linux.
If you have CWM, use it to mount your disk from recovery
Thank you for the tip but I've tried mounting usb storage in recovery and it doesn't work on Windows 7 64 bit. Also I've reinstalled the LG drivers but no luck so far.
Actually in recovery the OS recognize the phone and installs about 4-5 drivers including the Mass Storage one. Unfortunately there is one unidentified device in a list and when it fail to recognize it doesn't mount the phone as storage.

I'm thinking this is a driver issue. Any chance of getting your hands on a linux?
Anyway, CWM mount works for me in win7_64. It's weird why it doesn't on your setup. I've read of USB tethering issues on GB roms like cm7, but not on stock-based GB roms. Could be a driver issue fixed deep within the kernel to work on the specific board.
Try using topogigi's or paul's rom. USB mount works on both.
I've tried it on Ubuntu and it works like charm. Actually both emmc and sdcard are recognized and mounted as separate flash drives.
I'm seeing some mounting fixes in here: http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=p990
This might fix mount problems on next latest release. Haven't tried it yet though. You might want to check the kang thread if someone built from the latest sources
What do you mean on next release? Everything you see there is in #177

My bad. I meant the next nightly release at the time of my post above. I'm now on nightly_177 but haven't tried mount on Windows. Works as always in Linux
I can confirm that cm7.1 stable through 177 the usb mounting doesn't work under windows but only under linux.
Does anyone know where i can put it as a bug?
Its working for me, had a problem when I tried it first, after that, power cycle phone, reinstalled the SD card and after that everything worked...it might be also that I reinstalled the LG drivers yesterday before doing this.

It's a difficult one, as it doesn't affect everyone. My USB mounting is still fine.
For what it's worth, I'm using LG United Mobile Driver v3.4

[Q] NTFS Support OTG on stock ICS?

Hi!
I bought a OTG cable from China for some time ago. Quickly I discovered that the Note did not support NTFS file system...
Yesterday I updated to ICS and also rooted the phone. I then found some apps on the market that said they could mount NTFS devices, I tried many apps but it still did not work. All the forum posts says that I have to flash the kernel to get it to work...
Is there some way to get NTFS support and be able to read NTFS hard drives without flashing the kernel?
Thanks

It does work. I could read NTFS-USB via OTG in RocketRom v6, but after flashing to v7 I have problems with it.

NTFS and HFS+ mount

Not to take anything away from ezynow, but the Paragon worked smoothly for NTFS formatted USB. It will create its own Mount point for OTG USB drive formatted with NTFS, so you don't need to worry about typing a mount point in. I am not sure about ext4 though. In order to get rid of the annoying ! and sdcard image atthe bottom, I could suggest the solution given by ezynow; i.e. keep a small partition (1Gb say) with FAT and the rest with NTFS (?)

Sorry, I found my USB drives which are NTFS formatted - with external power. SUCCESS!
...with automount point - you still need to do a refresh after you plug your usb in.

New Beta http://ftp.paragon.eu.com/Beta/ParagonNTFS&HFS+_automount_beta.apk
If I plug a external hard drive in my tab freezes every time and I have to reboot. I have tried all the apps on the market and here some actually gets it mounted then it freezes.
Sent from my GT-P6800 using xda premium
too many similar apps installed

I think you may have other mount points assigned from other apps, which may be putting the tab 'run in circles'. I think the best bet is to ensure all other similar apps are uninstalled and try it again. The only sure way of knowing if no other mount points have been added is to re-install the stock ROM. Please let me know if this does not work.

[Q] USB OTG help!!

I recently bought an OTG chord.
It works fine with all devices on FAT32.
I have a seagate HDD (500 GB) which is in NTFS format.
The problem is,
1. I took a pendrive that worked well (on FAT32).
2. Then i formatted as NTFS.
3. Now it didnt mount.
4. I have root so I used "StickMount" app on playstore to force mount NTFS formated USB.
5. Now the pendrive mounted easily(even with NTFS format)
BUT my hard Drive still fails to mount!!
infact, a flickering beeping noise can be heard from the HDD (The HDD works fine on my PC)
So the question is why is that so??
Is it something like, HTC ONE OTG cannot support 500 GB??
Or flashing a kernel with ALL OTGs COMPATIBILITY will do the trick??
Has anybody successfully mounted 500 GB HDD??

If its only a usb powered drive the HO wont be giving enough power to the hdd hence the beeping noise from the drive, you could try a mains powered drive to see if that works.

NTFS is not natively supported. However there is a root app that allows r/rw of NTFS partitions

It's not just about power, NTFS is just not supported in stock Sense 5 regardless if the USB stick uses 0 power

Even not with StickMount app???
then in that case anyway to connect HDD to phone via OTG??
StickMount requires root Like I said, only rooted apps can currently r/rw on NTFS drives for HTC One.
