[Q] Saving to ext SD card

How can I make sure that the icons, etc that I've downloaded have been saved to my ext SD card? I want to flash a new ROM but in the past the icons have been saved to my internal SD and lost them all.
If they are on my internal SD, how do I move them to my ext SD?

1. If u r on 2.2 or 2.2.1 based ROMs, u wud have a folder called "external_sd" on ur sdcard folder. This folder forms the base of external sd.
2. Create a folder inside this.
3. Move ur data to this folder.
/ (root)
/..
/..
/sdcard (internal sd card)
/sdcard/..
/sdcard/..
/sdcard/external_sd (external sd card)
/sdcard/external_sd/..
/sdcard/external_sd/..
Okay, so they're saved on download. I have a file external_sd. When I long press on the zip file, I don't have the option to move the zip file. I do have the option to extract to a different directory. Do I just type in external_sd in the text box for extracting to the new directory and they'll get moved to the external sd?
...edit-I created an icon directory in the external_sd folder. I tried moving but am given no option where to move. When I click on move, it says it's moving but not to where.

Depends on what u r using. I generally use root explorer. Let me check in File Manager.
1. I did a long press on a file (zip file) and I "move" is the 2nd option I see.
2. Once I select that, there is "move here" button on top.
3. Browse to the folder I want (in ur case icons folder on external_sd)
4. Clicked on "move here" (file got copied) (when u click 'move here', it moves to the folder u r currently in)
I don't think the inbuilt file manager has "unzipping" capability. Use something like zip manager (free) or root explorer (i use this, paid app).

[Q] CM10 No External Storage Available

I just installed the 3/7/13 Nightly CM10 build on my Droid 4. The Camera and Gallery both complain that there is no external storage available. How can I resolve this issue?
EDIT:
/storage/sdcard0 is there and I can view it in Root Explorer.
/sdcard is symbolically linked to /storage/sdcard0, but when I click on it in Root Explorer it tells me "The SD card is not currently mounted." I can create other symbolic links to the folder, and if I rename /sdcard to /sdcardtest then the symbolic link works.

[Q] Access External SD Card WITHOUT ROOT

I tried to copy around 2GB of files from my internal Memory to the External SD Card and a dialogue box appeared saying I need to root and use SDcard Fix to be able to move files using the file manager[Solid Explorer]
Suddenly I regret buying this phone because why would I need to unlock bootloader and root just to be able to move files from Internal Memory to External sdcard?:crying:
I don't have such problem accessing (copy move delete) sd card. I'm using X-plore file manager
while some apps like Nexus otg file manager have problem copying files to sd card, don't know why
Try ES File Explorer. No problems here with no root.

Moving data to SD Card

Hi there,
The medscape app downloads its database to internal storage, is there anyway to move the folder to sd card?
Link2SD doesn't link the database folder and folder mount shows permission error as far as I remember
How can I move or link this folder to SD Card on Nokia X2?
Thanks
