/sdcard is the root correct
/sdcard/sd is the external sd card on 2.1
/sdcard/external_sd is the external sd on 2.2
/mnt is probably used when you connect your phone to the comp this is the mount point the computer sees ** someone correct me if I am wrong **

I installed the original Froyo leak, and /mnt had the SD card under it:
/mnt/sdcard and /mnt/sdcard/external_sd are the new locations for internal and external SD card respectively
thanks guys...that explains why I saw it one way and then another after going back to stock....I was running COG 2.4 and have been having many shutdown issues...no forced closes...just power shutdowns....decided to go to stock and see if that was my problem...havent had one since...now I am going to start flashing again...
Created an 8GB NOOKIE Froyo bootable SDHC card from the 2GB image file. Deleted the last partition and recreated it with remaining space on SD card. Formatted it FAT32 and labeled partition 'sdcard'.
In Astro file manager it looks like that partition gets mounted to /mnt/sdcard. In ES File explorer it looks like /sdcard and /mnt/sdcard are the same file system (the sdcard partition).
Applications do not have a problem reading/writing to the partition/file system, but I was wondering about the music applications. Neither the stock media player nor winamp finds files that have been copied to the Music/ sub-directory created from sdcard mount point.
I was wondering if these applications are not scanning the "sdcard" partition.
I searched the forums and did not necessarily see this specific issue being addressed. Is anyone else having this issue?
for anyone interested of doing what the title says just download the file attached and adb push it to syste/etc and reboot or copy into sd and the copy it using root explorer (or any root explorer app) into system/etc and reboot
now your microsd will be /sdcard and your internal storage sd will be sdcard2
Hello I have Samsung GT-I9000 and I'm familiar with the phone, more or less. Recently I've bought a used Samsung GT-I9000 for my wife and I noticed that in file manager the shortcut for the external sd card is missing, same is with Root Explorer. I can access the external sd card by accessing the folder /storage and everything works but there is no shortcut. This has not been a problem until recently I wanted to upload a file to my skydrive folder which by default browses the sd_card_0 folder and I could not reach the external sd card. Please if someone could help me how to create a shortcut/link to the external sd card in to the build in sd card. I have searched for similar problems and solutions but I could not find any. Thanks

Hi tihis a know bugs (if you have ICS or later )
Anyway the solution may be the same, use directory bind (serch this app in xda) and create your shotcut where you want (root are needed )
try mnt folder. or make sure sd card are properly inserted. Any rooted file explorer can access to sd.
To make it clearer, this is the problem on the phone - the pointed folder is missing!

I'm not allowed to post external links so please go to the quoted url.
EDIT: I forgot to mention I'm using the awsome Xylon 2.4.1 Jelly Bean 4.2.2 ROM for I9000
try to browse ur url but da img not available there
after http there is a blank field which needs to be replaced with ://
i ........ nevermind.
are u rooted?
to be sure, juz rooted da explorer by clicking setting in menu button, and redirect everything to /storage/sdcard1
ur sd and internal are quite there so whats da problem? all 4.2.2 version already in ext4 so da folder /external_sd doesnt been used anymore, its for GB, u can see it by going to properties of da /external_sd and see there will be no space available.
JB uses /storage at / to indicate da sdcard, its proper that way and easy to organise
at /storage, there will be 2 directories, /sdcard0 (indicates your internal and /sdcard1 (indicates your external sd)
as i see here, there is nothing wrong with ur pic and fone
edited: i use root explorer so its taking a while for me to download CMfilemanager (well, gonna change ROM after this so installing it not a bother to me)
da first 2 thumbnail is my root explorer, the other are da same file explorer as yours
see thumbnail:
To solve this problem I used SiMi Folder. see this link
I also found Smart Shortcuts, which I like even better. see this link
Hi there,
The medscape app downloads its database to internal storage, is there anyway to move the folder to sd card?
Link2SD doesn't link the database folder and folder mount shows permission error as far as I remember
How can I move or link this folder to SD Card on Nokia X2?
Thanks

If you have partitioned your sdcard then you can move the apps to your second partition
if you want to know how to partition Check this out!
