Well i got my wifes permission to use her upgrade, so i got the SGS3. It's an awesome phone but that's beside the point.
I'm trying to flash the revo back to stock because she is going to use it until my upgrade in February. The problem is that Verizon took the sim out because they're not transferable, or so they say. So i went to wipe data and cache, then booted the phone and all it would let me do is make an emergency call. So currently i'm restoring an old backup in hopes that it works so i can get it connected to lgnpst and flash zv7. If anyone's got advice it's appreciated.
something similar happened to me.
my gf's Revo got stuck in a boot loop. so in the meantime of trying to fix it, i activated an old Droid 1 in place of the phone. once i got the Revo running again, i had it upgraded to V8 from using LGNPST, but Verizon couldn't activate it no matter what they tried. i ended having to revert the phone back to V4, had them activate it, then upgrade it. unless i had super bad luck with this case. hope you don't have as much of a hassle as i did.
Well it worked, ahaha. It's flashing zv7 now. I thought it was kind of funny though.
And it got an error code and stopped... That sucks.
Got back into recovery and am restoring again. lol
See, told you it would be interesting.

Why v7? Why not v8 so you can update to 9?
I guess i'm assuming it will do OTA's from v7 to v8 and v9?? It's not staying rooted for her, she has no need for it.
It's been trying to do an OTA for weeks and weeks, and hasn't been able to.
Regardless i'm getting multiple errors now, so i don't know what's going on. I restored and it won't communicate with the phone now.
I'm wondering if it has to have a sim to go through the full flash. Just had another failure but i can get back to recovery to restore.
Does anyone know if that's true???
It cannot update from v7 to v9. You have to flash it to v8 then update it to v9. They will not push you v8 then v9. You need to get the TOT for 8 or 9 and flash directly.
Well that's good to know, thanks. Wife got the phone activated and i data wiped it and it works fine for now. She wants it back to stock though so i'll flash v8.

Ok so I got my hero about a month ago and upgraded to 2.1 last week. Terrible decision...wish I could take it back...but I hear that if you root your phone and use a custom ROM you can actually have a pretty decent experience with your phone using 2.1 I can't even list how many problems and how slow 2.1 is.
I do not know a lot at all about rooting a phone, I never have before, and the tutorials on unlocker seem to be out-dated with the 1.5 software so nothing is working for me. I have the ADP setup on my computer, I'm just wondering what's the easiest and most up to date way to root my Sprint HTC Hero so I can use a custom ROM. Any help is appreciated, thank you.
**If your software/build number (2.27.651.X) ends in 6, you must download and run this RUU first to be able to use the root exploit on your phone. If it ends in .5, skip this and click the link in the next sentence.**
Try this and if you follow it correctly, you'll be able to root your phone and be able to nandroid, and flash custom roms and what not.
Final note, all of the user data/settings on your phone will be reset, so it will be like having a brand new phone out of the box. Just an FYI.
Thank you I have successfully rooted my phone...but I'm having trouble connecting to the internet now. I cannot receive any weather data and have no internet connection at all.
I"m having the same problem, even after I set back to factory default. Not sure what I did wrong.

What problem(s) are you having in particular? Not being able to root?
I had my phone rooted and it worked great then my phone was stolen. When the replacement came in I rooted it first thing with fresh 2.1.2 but my phone would not receive or make calls.
So then I had to run the 1.5 RUU to get back to stock thinking I was going to have to get some warrant work. Well that bricked my phone getting the 110 error that many other seem to get too.
I found the fix, and opened command prompt and ran fastboot oem boot. This fixed my phone and I was back running 1.5
After testing my phone, I seen that it made calls with not problem and it was the fresh rom that was messing my phone up. I decided I would not root my phone again, instead just install the 2.1 update. I tried to update through the phone but it did not work so I downloaded the 2.1 RUU and ran it.
I've been using the 2.1 update now for a week and I am unsatisfied. It is incredibly slow compared to my rooted phone. I tried using fresh kitchen to root my phone but it says I have a custom room and fails. (I thought running the 2.1 RUU was like a factory update?)
Anyways, is there a way for my to root my phone again? I am stuck and not sure what to do.
Sorry for the wall of text.
so u found the fix for the 110 error but u cant see like the third topic here on how to root 2.1?
Damn, haha, Thanks for pointing that out.
I'm hungover at work, you got to cut me a little slack. My head is else where today.
so i have been hearing some great things on the bionic data fixes with the .901 update i have read the original op but honestly i am a bit confused hoping someone can help me out here... someone says it does not void warrenty by going to that one how is that possible if root is required to do this??? so how would i go about getting this updated .. i previously came from a charge and before that a epic so odin was my best friend and everything was very simple as far as rooting flashing roms and if i messed it up odin was there to help me out so hoping someone will help me in the right directinon and i am up to date on the most recent update the "data fix" if that is what you want to call it!!!
.901 was pushed as an OTA to a limited number of people. Someone copied it and uploaded it to the board. Meaning Big Red and Moto have to support it since it was pushed out, even though it was an accident. I'm not sure if you have to be rooted to sideload it or not. I was already rooted. Turned my phone into everything it was originally supposed to be. No data drops, and a constant 4G signal for me. It almost doubled my battery since it doesn't waste power searching for 4G.
OK cool I wish I could find a way to get it without root don't want to root yet

you do not need to be rooted to install it, you can install it from the factory recovery and run stock .901 unrooted.
I recently upgraded to the leaked 5.9.904 system since I was having issues with my phone acting possessed and to try to improve my 4G connection. I first tried to roll my phone back to the stock 886, do the OTA updates, re-root and flash 904. I couldn't get my phone to go back to 886 only the stock 902. After flashing 902 my phone retained all the settings and was just unrooted, I hoped that this fixed any problem files. I went ahead and rerooted and flashed 5.9.904. All worked as advertized except my phone is still acting strange intermittently and now my WiFi occasionally stops working. My 4G is more solid than it has ever been which is great but I would like to fix the Wifi.
I guess my question is this, how can I get by phone back to a bone stock ROM? I was stupid and bought a refurb Bionic to save $50 and regret that decision, as such it came with 886 on it. I would like to flash an error free 886 so I can reroot and go from there.
Any ideas?

The full FXZ of .902 will set you straight. At least until a .904 FXZ is found.

Thank you. Should I flash it like a normal ROM? Will it wipe the old 904 ROM? I am trying to start fresh and don't want any old files/settings.
I think I bricked my Bionic and need help :crying:
I was running 905 perfcectly and wanted to upgrade to ICS 230 leak so I did a nandroid with bootstrap.
I followed instructions and everything went perfectly, I had my ICS running very good (with full root and all) but I wanted to go back, since I wasm't productive enough with the new layouts and stuff so I installed Bootstrap and retored my old nandroid backup... BIG MISTAKE. The restore went ok, but when rebooting it stuck in a blank screen (for 30 minutes) until I decided to reboot it. and same thing. From there I can't go ahead. I've tried to glash back to 905 and even ICS (from stock recovery) with the Status 7 error, I started in fastboot and tryied RSDLite to go to stock 902 and failed (Failed flashing process. 1/22 flash mbm "allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin" Phone returned FAILED) and nothing seems to work.
Any helps or ideas are welcomed, I think I might have bricked it bad.....
Trying to restore a Gingerbread nandroid over ICS leak is a bad idea.
Did you get your phone fixed?
If not, PM me and I will get you back on track...I hope.

I know.. newbie mistake!!!
I did something like that my self. I have been flashing stuff since the original droid. I messed up and didnt do a backup in recovery. I ended up flashing back to stock .902 using rsd and doing the whole process again. Good luck hopefully you have it fixed by now.
Try RSDlite again with a fully-charged battery, low battery level has been the major cause of flash failures on the Bionic
Note that you won't be able to charge with a bricked Bionic, you either need a wall charger, ask someone to do it for you, or buy another battery from Verizon.
I'd say get to 100% with a wall charger, then FXZ to 902, then apply the 905 update (via OTA or from SD in stock recovery, root, backup with OTA root keeper, then apply the newest leak (232). You should have a fully working phone, but if you wanna go back to the gingerbread stuff, DO NOT flash the leak. Whatever ROMs you use must be made for whatever stock OS version you have. If it's made for 902 or 905 it won't work after you've updated to ICS. If the ROM is made for 2233 or 230 or 232 and so on, it won't work until you've updated the stock OS to one of those builds, or just an ICS build in general (most likely).
You can go back to 902 from any of the leaks.

I have had only one time bricking my bionic.
I was on a cross country flight and ran my battery down to not be able to flash. I was also unable to charge my phone because I had just deleted everything from stock recovery (my first problem). RSD would not work because I had no charge on my phone, and Nothing I did would charge my phone. I know nobody else that owns a bionic so they could charge my battery.
I went to Verizon and explained some bull**** story of my phone just not turning on and they were willing to send me a refurbished phone. I asked if it was at all possible for them to trade me batteries for my Bionic. He allowed me to trade batteries from the store model and came home flashed .902 with RSD Lite and have had no problems since.
