I'm currently done making an alternative boot animation for CM7, but I just can't get it to show up on my phone.
Here is the .swf for what it is supposed to look like (unlooped)
http://www.swfcabin.com/open/1296673506
I also attached the zip of what I have. If anyone could go through it and give me some pointers on how to make it work it would make my day.
Thanks.
Update: I changed the filenames to what I thought was correct. Still getting a black screen after the nexus logo. Phone boots fine though,
How did you zip the file?
You have to use a non compressed format...
I'll play with it, and see what I can do.

It's most likely compressed. I had no idea it wasn't supposed to be, makes sense though.
I'll do that and let you know.
It did the trick. Thanks.
Only thing is that it doesn't take up the whole screen. Back to the drawing board I guess.
Update: Thanks, managed to fix everything.
Great!
...I got distracted!

Hi everyone
I'm sure this question was answered a thousand times, I just can't find a topic about it even though I've been searching. Anyway, just wanted to know how to remove that god damn AT&T boot screen. Thanks a lot
Last I knew unless you were on an i9000 based rom, you cant. Even on said Tom you have to redo it everytime you flash a new rom
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
You might want to ask "DesignGears", the designer of Cognition. His ROMs, except 4.1, that I'm aware of,started without the AT&T boot screen
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
I believe that the first att screen us impossible to change. You can alter the general boot screen after that though. Not sure how to do it but I imagine there are guides out there you can find
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Well I have managed to get rid of it with the Rogers based Stock rom and now when I flash it shows the rogers one (black screen says "i896 samsung" on it) then the kernal screen and then the rom's boot screen. No where does it show the AT&T screen
here you go to download that if thats fine with you:

I've got an old Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570. It won't start, It goes into Download Mode, Not into CWM Recovery. I don't care about this Phone, and it's in crappy condition. But, It would be amazing to see if someone actually could install another OS on it. I only know a Three alternative Phone OS, which are iOS, Android and Firefox OS. (If you know another one, name it.)
I'm Shure iOS won't run on it, so we can count that one out. I don't want Android on it either, so count that one out too, Which leaves us down to FireFox OS.
So, Whos interested in making this thing work?

I think you can't install another OS, but you can install custom Rom based on it, like iOS rom, windows 8 and others. If you don't want android os, you shouldn't have bought it in the first place
I bought it 2 summers ago, it was my first Android Phone.
I'm a Noob when it comes to ROMs, I usually like what it out-of-the-box.

Just a complete guess, but I would think as long as the hardware supports whatever you're trying to run on it, it will accept any OS. Just like you can install Linux or Mac on an old windows computer, all you really should need is the framework. As far as I know hardware isn't necessarily specific to software. In theory it should be possible.

Did you mean Gecko OS ? Wow, you don't want Android heh... why ? Android has better customization than both Firefox, and iOS.
If you don't want Android then why you run Android X86 on your PC, :sigh: people these days...
If you want to be involved in something...Here is the thread from galaxy gio...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827571
when it's ready you'll only have to port it

Haha you destroyed your iPad ? Great, i hate Apple with Steve Jobs bite mark on it.
Mini can run :
1. Debian
2. Ubuntu
3. Android
4. Windows 95
5. Windows 2000
6. Windows XP SP1 / SP2
Meaning of these color :
- Orchid : Can run without any simulated platform, overclock, and flashing things. That means it's was "firstly there, and always there"
- Dark Green : Need a simulated platform, but no need to overclock and flashing things. That means it's was "secondly there and maybe there"
- Light Green : Need a tougher simulated platform, need a overclock feature + kernel. That means it's was "maybe there, and sometime there"
So give him Java, symbian, bada and meego. Just joking

Hi,
We need to port windows 8 to Lg optimus x4 HD, someone working on that ???? Let's begin ???
Thanks
Alex
we have to wait for unlocked bootloader with JB, without that we won't do anything man.
and windows 8 phone is bullsh*t imo, it's better to port Ubuntu OS for example

You can't even think to port Windows on there.... (and leave apart that it would be FUGLY).
WP8 is based on the NT kernel, the same kernel that Windows (the PC version) is using.. and it is totally closedsource.
The previous PocketPC/Windows Mobile/Windows Phone versions were using the Windows CE kernel that was shared-source.
No way. At all.

Windows Surface runs on a tegra 3 so it might be possible? That would be a nice addition but I think we would be better off trying to get Ubuntu mobile on our O4Xs first!

Perhaps you don't get that the kernel needs to initialize the board and that if you haven't got its source you can't implement your board-specific initialization.
I think Android I such a customizable system so if you want to have the style of windows 8 or ubuntu so get it! For some functions of other systems there are apps or roms which have or add these features (for example ubunto sidebar app) and yes I know that it's not the same like a whole mobile system but it's a little bit more windows or ubuntu for them who wants this
Well I've tried to search everywhere and play with every option on my phone I have an HTC One m7 they just did an update today on my phone and there's this ugly ass emerald green everywhere and I can't find the option to change it or get rid of it or revert. Any help guys?

Yup I hate it too, why they would choose that colour as standard is beyond me, that's why I will only use a custom sense 6 rom where you can change all of that.
Anyway, go to settings - personalize - themes to change it for now.
or you could root, download xposed installer and then sense 6 toolbox to change it, a bit more complicated though.
Yeah I did that I selected the thing that has black in it and a picture of a frozen um evergreen branch or some ****. But still everything I touch is highlighted in green and all of my contacts that don't actually have pictures have big ****ing square green patches on them. You know I'm no stranger to rooting and flashing. I usually end up doing it toward the end of my contract that's usually when the phone starts ****ing up to. But I love this phone so much the way it is. Trust me a time will come and overclocking along with free wifi for everyone. **** sprint they can lick my balls. It's better than a iphone but we're not there yet the fellas.

flash the latest viper one sense 6 rom, they have loads of very cool themes for their sense 6 rom in the themes section.

Yeah I had Viper ROM on my htc evo 3d I liked it I also liked the CyanogenMod. But to tell you the truth I prefer the stock look. But I like the overclocking and the access to WiFi sharing. You know I noticed the more and more you mod a phone it's like an addiction he keeps throwing **** from everywhere together little bit from here a new skin from there. I knew kernel from another place then you flash the radio. And then you end up with a hodgepodge. And then you brick your phone lol

Welcome to the world of wanting your device your way. Either flash a rom or redo the hundreds of xml and image changes to get rid of the green.
Well I decided to call HTC and ask them about it and I told them I've been a customer with them since the hero and then the HTC EVO 3d and now the HTC One m7 and I explained the situation and they basically told me well it's all part of sense 6 and there's no way you could take it out so you're SOL. So it looks like a rooting I will go thanks for all the support guys

Good old customer services, so customer aware and helpful
You can change the theme in Sense 6 in the Personalise menu, not that I ever did as I quite like the green but I've gone to GPe
