Is it possible that someone with a n7 can post a video of their nexus 7 using nova launcher, and showing the homescreen rotate? I want to see if the notifications will still work while in landscape.

How do you get nova launcher to rotate? Even after setting "Look and feel -> auto rotate", it doesn't seem to do so.

Thats exactly what I did, also make sure you didn't lock your auto rotate in your notifications (the icon with the to circle arrows with a lock icon next to the setting button and date in your notifications).
Can't take the video right now but here are some screen shots.

If either of you could post full resolution shots of the home screen with a light background so I can determine the heights of the nav bar and notification bar in each orientation that would be most appreciated.
@the noan
From your landscape shot it appears the nav bar is 64px high instead of the stock/default 75px high. Did you make any adjustments to the height or did Nova make it that size?
Though I would pitch in

The forum seems to downsize attachments, but fortunately by 50% in this case so getting the pixel size was easy. :good:
The nav bar is 64px high in landscape and 75px high in portrait. I wonder if Nova can be tweaked to have more control over this. The notification bar looks to be 33px in both landscape in portrait, which I expected.
Thanks for the shots!

It will happen in a custom ROM. HTC doesn't believe in Landscape mode with phones without QWERTY keyboard for some weird reason.
Not really true, the Sense goes into Landscape when docked in car dock but the Sense skins from the Desire dont work in Landscape. All thats needed to get it to work without the dock for someone to make a toggle. I hope someone can update the Desire skins for the car dock mode. Right now it just defaults to a random skin until you rotate the phone to portrait.

When the Z-Roms first hit the Incredible, people were sad that Rosie didn't rotate with the hardware sensor.
There's a file you can edit in Rosie somewhere that will allow Sense to take note of the sensor and rotate accordingly. I am pretty darn sure it's that simple. Someone should ask gmichaelow. He's the one that got it working for the DInc.
Hope this works out for you guys!

No. The car dock is what flips the rotation switch. What is cool is it puts the phone in Car Panel mode which blocks you from getting to the home screen. You can still get to your notification pull down and you can launch apps that appear in there. If you exit Car Panel through the menu, then it allows you to access the Home Screen which is in Landscape mode from then on. If you pull the phone out of the dock while in landscape it will revert back to portrait. It seems it is only a setting. Also if you get out of car panel with Sense active, you can't get back to car panel unless you redock the phone. The Car Panel app is not in the app drawer using sense but if you use Launcher Pro it shows back up in the app drawer. We think VZW did this to force you to buy their Car Dock and Media Dock.

Wallbase is good, but kinda buggy at times but the walls are HD. I like em.
Basically Google image search for wallpaper (can also use keywords like abstract) using a size of 1600x1280 for it to fit the Nexus 7 in portrait/landscape. 1280x720 is not correct when using a revolving launcher, you end up cropping a lot of it.

You know how the wallpaper moves when you go between pages on the launcher? Well, the wallpaper needs to be exactly twice the horizontal width of the screen in order to do so without cropping.

I prefer to stay away from unnecessary apps when I can find wallpaper online. Interfacelift is a really good site for high res wallpaper. For best result, always select the highest resolution possible and let Android downsample it automatically when you set it as wallpaper.

As we all know Nexus 5 has a gorgeous looking display that's amazing to play games on, however, the big navigation bar that's always common kind of destroys the purpose of it.
One way to hide the navigation bar is by editing the build.prop file by adding a new line to it: qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
What it does is completely disable the navigation bar, so we need a new way to navigate without it. An easy way to do that is with an application called Button Savior. The app will enable hidden on screen buttons that are very responsive and will allow you to access home screen with ease while enjoying the beautiful display, now in full screen!
Here's a list of applications that work and can be used to navigate without the original navigation bar:
1. Button Savior (back button does not work)
2. Handy Soft Keys (when enabled the "Ok Google" feature does not work)
3. Pie Control (paid application, but developer offers it for free to XDA users http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2454531)
Thank you The display looks so much better without the nav bar. i look forward to GMD Gesture Control compatibility with KitKat, it's a much better alternative for Button Saviour.

Thanks for the heads up, this will do fine for now. Once Xposed is updated for 4.4 I'll use GravityBox to shrink the navbar down so it's just a sliver when in landscape. That way I still have instant access to the buttons but it doesn't take up any noticeable real estate on my screen. That's what I did with my Moto X and has proven to be the best mod I've done.

Yeah man, once we have Xposed I'll be MUCH happier with this phone. First on the agenda aside from shrinking the navbar is setting my status bar icons back to holo blue. Why google went to white is beyond me.
But back on topic. I'm using the handy soft keys app that you posted, I like it better than the one in the OP. Thanks for the recommendation.
I actually just found the PERFECT app. It's simply called Pie Control. It's fully customizable, smooth as silk, and feels like it's actually part of the ROM. It's paid, like $1.50, but worth every penny.

No as then I would have no buttons. Sorry but I buy a big phone for screen size and taking it with buttons is silly for me, especially that there is so much space around screen on M8 left unused. I can live with such buttons on my Nexus tablet but on the phone those two buttons are extra helpful in quick navigation.

Immersion mode works well on my Nexus. I would say such button solution for me is on screens 7 and bigger. On smaller screens if there is no basel Ok otherwise buttons
Sent on the move from HTC One
I am using the gmd auto hide softkeys as well works great. I did go pro so that I could hide the the trigger but we'll worth the extra $ so I don't have a red bar at the bottom of my screen. I didn't bother to look at any other apps that may produce the same result for free but I like to support the devs that make a good app.
Xposed and immersive mode - expanded desktop.
Works fantastic
I got rid of my on screen buttons entirely and solely use PIE. It is fantastic. Adds more screen space and most customizing options as to what you would have on a nav bar. Plus you can set where and when it is accessed. Bought the HTC m8 with the intention of doing this from the beginning.
Sense 6 Toolbox for Xposed Framework has an option to decrease the size of the bar by like half or maybe more.
Edit: This is in the wrong section. Unless, tapatalk is acting funny. But pretty sure wrong section.

Nope. Exact same one. That is the exact thread I got mine from. Did you uninstall the old toolbox and then install the new one?
Here is a screenshot of the feature in toolbox.

Use the xposed module Dimensions Editor. You can shrink the size of the navigation bar, navigation buttons, status bar, and status bar icons.
