My nexus 7 is encountering lag everywhere, even in the stock launcher, moving the page had apparent lag and in most apps the lag is really obvious, is there anything i can do to fix this?
First this is a question and belongs in QA forum section.
But maybe you can check out this thread...

After reading every single post in the general q&a and the development section. Im a little conflicted about buying a nook color to root. The s lot of people are having serious issues after rooting. For instance apps stop functioning or the device completely resets its self... im just wondering how widespread this problem is?

There are really no problems with it. I think most of what you are reading is people having problems due to not following instructions. I rooted and it works great, no issues.

Any resets happen when the unit is in sleep mode not while you are using it, so it just reboots and goes right back to sleep.. This very rarely happens to me, and nobody is sure exactly what the root cause is yet and not many care because it does not really disturb anything.
Other than that, the only problems out there are usually shared amongst other tablets, and not specific to this one.
You do realize that Android is meant and designed to be rooted. You are meant to have root access. Its the manufacturers that try to lock it down.
You have to remember this...people that are having issues are going to post on these forums to look for a resolution.
Those are NOT having issues (me) are not going to flood the forums with, "HEY ITS WORKING GREAT!".
I am sure the mod's appreciate the stance of people with no issues. I doubt the traffic of positive responses would tolerated.
So with that, if I was you, I would buy one (2 week return period), root and try it. If you don't like it, reset it back to factory and return it.
All the issues that people are having, solutions have mostly been found. I agree with the post above. Most are probably not having any problems. I have been rooted since December 24th. Any changes that I make is after "tweaks" have been tested by others. I am very careful to follow instructions. My rig is very stable. I appreciate those that are more adventurous than myself, that know no boundaries in regard to making the nook what it is. Some of the reported issues are due to that experimentation. But like I said, most all of those issues have been resolved. My suggestion would be to go for it. A few headaches may lie ahead but it should be worth it.
There are a lot of older threads about GPS issues with the Galaxy S but I'm not seeing it being mentioned so often lately.
Has everybody gotten used to this? Or has it been fixed with the recent updates by Samsung?
Can some of you please share your experiences?
Don't you hate it that you always find the right thread after posting a question?
This topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878970 clearly states that the units produced after October 2010 should function better.
So, my question can be ignored (as if it wasn't already)
I just rooted and flashed my sgs from crappy vodafone 2.2 to mental darky's 9.0. this has solved my gps, wifi stability and lag issues.
In short this the phone i wanted from the beginning and now I'm falling in love with it all over again !
Is anyone using this version of Miui: Optimus2x 1.7.29 from: http://miuiandroid.com/roms/miui-development-roms/
If you are, could you please let me know how stable it is and if their are any major bugs. I know there are other posts out their, but they are just pages and pages long. Just need to konw if it is good rom or not, as i am currently running the stock rom.
thanks
There is a (fairly short) thread about MIUI bugs, you just have to search for it.
Opening new threads just because you don't want to read the existing threads doesn't help the usability of this forum, so please try to refrain from it in the future. You can always ask your questions in the existing threads and though maybe some will also bi*** about that because the question was already answered in that thread, it is a far more organized approach.
Cheers

Sorry for being lazy.
Having read the thread you mentioned, I might leave installing the rom, until it is a little more stable.

About the same as the froyo stock ROM for me, not great.
I also had a random black screen once when a call came in, It went after about 2 minutes but didn't record the missed call so i had no idea who called me
Luckily they called back a few mins later. That's the only major-ish bug i've found so far.
For me the battery life is great, since I installed it my phone could run 2 days with one charge, which didn't happen with Froyo.

On topic: after freezing and disabling some stuff I actually got "normal" battery life out of this ROM
Off topic: once again, please, do not make this a 3rd thread for the same ROM,
The MIUI main thread, as well as the MIUI bug thread cover those topics to a great extent, and solutions will be very hard to find if they are scattered over 3 threads.

Miui roms just not eat your battery, they also rape it.

Ok thanks for the feedback, i think I'll give it a miss until it is more stable.

Every Cyanogenmod rom I've tried, bet it 4.1/4.2 has really bad scrolling issues where the screen/page keeps snapping back. It is very obvious when you scroll fast. Nobody seems to post this problem in the threads for the roms and whenever I do, I never get a response as if I'm the only one with the issue. However, I've seen videos of others with the same roms and whenever they scroll I can see the same problem. Will this issue ever be fixed, or will be people continue to pretend it doesn't exist? I really want to use a ROM without Sense but the issue is just so frustrating.

I have the same issue with most custom roms.
This is why I have a fear for custom roms now. Users claim that the rom is stable/ excellent, yet I find lots of issues when I flash them.
btw, if your kernel supports STweaks, you lighten this issue by going to screen > touchmove sensitivity > 20 pixels

I have this on my Nexus 7 as well, not sure what is causing it but I know what you mean. I have seen no fix for it, I am used to it now so I scroll slower

oops, you caught a samsung user hanging out in the htc section hahahaha
but yeah I just googled "horrible scrolling cyanogenmod" because I have had the same problem across two samsung phones.
I have no real problem on 4.3 or any CyanogenMod ROM for that matter. Smooth sailing. All except CM7, for some reason it jolted and skipped around. Anything beats stock ROM as well

This is a serious question as I am very confused.
I am asking this because I have had my phone for about two months now. I have read through most of the post in this phones section. I see countless threads about this issue, and that issue, battery life, screen issues, lag, and the list goes on.
I can honestly say I have none of those issue. So that means either there was a newer hardware version released recently or the quality of Samsung is really hit and miss and I should go play the lottery..:good:
Does anyone else here have a 900A with little or no issues?
