hey, as a alternative to the normal usb cable and the adapter , i thought of buying a loading station for my optimus 2x
do you have good or bad experiences...are there benefits from using a loading station? thanks

I think it's not true and not neccessary because my phone have wifi , bluetooth and usb cable , so it also be ok for me now

I have a docking station that charges my o2x and my 2 spare batteries its USB so can use the plug or the computer to charge.. quite a nice looking dock and I think I keeps the phone off the key board lol.. to access SD card most of the time I use software data cable app from the play store as long as both phone and computer connected to the same router you can access the SD card..

My KiDiGi dock (+ battery loading slot) served me well. Now it's gathering dust as I switched to a HTC One S. That's the one I recommend.

Docking station
I use Fidelio AS140/37. Sounds and looks good. Issue with USB connector being not very stable. Bluetooth also, and FM radio.
Overall I enjoy it.

The fidelio is a sound system not a charging dock....
I bought a KiDiGi look-alike dock for my 2X and it works pretty well. It has two separate cables (or connectors rather) - one transfer only (powers the phone only and servers for data transfer) and the other one power only - powers the phone and spare battery charger (doesn't work for data transfer). The only "issue" i have with it is that it's quite light and I have to hold it down with one hand while picking the phone up with the other.

Lg sdt 200
I am using LG sdt 200 which supports both horizontal & verical view. It supports charging only in vertical view. Looks nice but can't expect more from it....

i´m using the Mumbi Dockingstation.
its cheap and enough for me

HDMI MHL Adapter.

Hey guys.
I ordered this cord about 2 weeks ago now.
I got it in the mail today, thinking it wasn't going to work.
It was only $7 so I thought, ehh whatever
I plugged all of the cords (HDMI, Power and Charger port).
Whattya know, my phone screen is now on my television.
I already watched a movie on my television, ported full 1080p. No lag whatsoever.
Watched Netflix, no problems, full screen playback working crystal clear.
Just a couple small problems, the USB is very touchy. The screen will stay mirrored, but if you pull back the USB port even a tiny bit, it will lose the picture.
I noticed when i have the phone plugged in, my data signal diminishes significantly. I'm not sure if its because of the cord or just the crappy phone reception in my home.
I know for a fact this CANT be genuine.
I'm actually quite surprised.
For the whopping price if $7, this is a steal.
I will post a video later, don't have a camera at the moment.

I got one off of amazon for fairly cheap as well, but I found the gaming to be pretty laggy so it's been stuffed into a drawer somewhere.
Is this the one with micro-usb charging port on it? If it is,can you charge your phone if you connect charging cable to this MHL adapter while it's connected to Note2/TV? For some reason I thought that it's just like OTG cable where you phone becomes a host and outputs HDMI signal and you can't charge it out. But then I read somewhere you can. So, can you please clear it up if phone can be charged through that micro-usb port on the side (if your adapter has one)?

Yes.
Your phone charges while plugged in.
On the 2nd photo, I tried to show the usb port.
Power MUST be plugged in to use this.

I'd say a little but not too much.
I plugged it into my TV at 100 percent.
I watched a movie that lasted about an hour and a half and when I took it off, it was at 92 percent.

when you use TV-out you should set display brightness to the lowest setting, and use both an original Samsung charger and an original Samsung usb cable.
many 3rd party chargers and cables can't handle the 1.5-2A the note 2 needs for charging while using TV-out.
I'll try this also. Thanks for the link. Where are you guys getting your authentic Samsung cables and chargers? Samsung directly?

here is video showing HML running on MA7. I'm using the generic Monoprice adapter, the 5-11pin adapter, and their ultra slim with RedMere HDMI cable (signal goes one direct only).
It's not that other cable and charges don't work. The phone uses more power to convert the signal for the USB cable. Then the adapter needs power to work, so you're not getting the full 2amps being passed from the charger. On top of that, the USB may not have rating or resistance to pass the 2amps as well. Thus, what may appear as the phone not charging is really the phone battery not depleting as quickly because it's not recieving more power that the GN2 is using.
I've used cheapy cables and other chargers fine to watch videos and what not, and the phone build a charge; just not as quickly as the OEM.
I've used the OEM cable and charger, and still depleted the battery because I was runuing WiFi tether, and HML. The best I was able to do, reduce the depletion to 10% an hour.
I recommend this to save battery life. It requires root but lets you turn the screen off.

I bought the OEM MHL to HDMI cable and it stopped working after a couple of uses. And I only use the OEM charger with the cable
I tried swapping out the HDMI cable, but that didn't make any difference. Picture would not go to the TV. Is there a setting that I'm missing on the device for TV out?
I assumed the cable was defective and bought a cheap one from monoprice, but same story there, it does not work either.
no special setting. Probably a driver got borked in the phone. You may want to reflash or do a factory reset assuming you've switch cables, adapter and tried a different TV.
I bought a similar one from another seller but the pin is quite long and doesnt go in completely. Is it the same in your case?
And no im not getting anything on my hdtv :/
I have a Samsung MHL adapter that I bought to use with my OG Evo or Evo 3D, don't remember which one. I've had it for years now, and it still works great! I wish that Samsung would make something like HTC did with their Media Link HD. I still use my Evo LTE and Media Link HD to watch my TV shows on Droid TV PrimeTime. That's an awesome app that only costs $9 every 3 months. It doesn't have movies, just TV shows. It has shows from their current series though, and will record shows (from the series you've selected) just 12 hours after it airs! I only use Netflix for watching older series of shows and movies.

Decent USB cable in the UK?

Hi,
Can anyone recommend a decent USB cable for my sons N7?
Need to get a replacement, but the ones i currently have are not beefy enough to charge properly.
Cheers

Same problem, can only find pathetic skinny fragile things.
I have used this cable without any probs
AKASA part no AK-CBUB05-10BK
bought from CPC order code CS20881
Try a flat ribbon cable, Amazon Uk have them http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb...onics&rh=i:electronics,k:flat micro usb cable Various lengths and colours. I use a standard 1.2mtr blue one that I bought last year.
I'm using Logitech cable for charging (got it with the mouse) and Nokia cable for PC (they are always connected, that's why separate cables), so get one of those.
I've only had problems with 3 years old Samsung cable because it kept falling out (it stays in on my SE phone)
I really doubt beefyness of the cable affects charging though. I charged my tabled on just about any cable I've found laying around in the house with no problems
The reason as to why your charge cannot keep up is most likely due to using a charger with lower amperage (i.e 1amp/1A).
As long as you purchase a 2amp charger and compatible usb cable, then you shouldn't have any more issues with draining the battery faster than it can be charged thanks to the 2amp charge rate.

Thanks for the reply guys, this is using the Asus charger that came with the device, just that the original cable split, so I need a replacement.
Have looked at the cables, might get one of the flat ones as they look good.
Cheers,
Paul.
Just to let you know I bought the flat ones and they fit and work really well.
Thanks for the replys all.

Trick is to get a short a cable as you can. The impedance really effects charging. The difference between my stock and a 6' cable is like a 60% drop.

Car charger Cable

Any good suggestion for a USB Charging cable for the car to charge the devide while using navigation? I need a good cable with enough power to be able to charge the device even i use gps navigation and also not causing any problem in the battery.
Any good suggestion?
Are you looking for just the cable or an actual charger? The cable has mostly no bearing on how much power you get (unless you get a reeaaaly bad cable)

Actual Charger
i got these two, combined they pach one hell of a punch 4.2 amps will max out inputs on any device on the market right now. Dont worry there is no way to overcharge your device nowadays from amperage:

USB car charger

I have a few of the belkin/off brand dual USB auto adapters. But they all have output of around 500mA so basically when using bluetooth and GPS on the rd I'm drawing more power than I'm getting. I've looked around on amazon for some usb adapters but seems like a lot of them for some reason only really fast charge with IPads or other apple devices and for some reason they slow charge android devices. Apparently iphones have some sort of communications with the chargers to draw more power.
So my question is does anyone have one or know of one that works with the G2 and fast charges. I'd prefer one that is flush like my existing belkin and not one that sticks out a few inches. Dual ports would be nice, but at this point I'm not picky. Having said that, I'd like to not spend $30 on it.
To add to it, I installed some battery monitor widget and while in the car today I just popped it open and noticed that it said "USB Connected Discharging" So basically It actually drains power quicker than if it wasn't connected to the charger at all!

There is a long thread on this already.

It seems that the bigger issue is not finding a 2amp charger, but a USB cable with the correct gauge similar to the oem one. I believe the oem cable is 20 gauge and I believe I found one on Amazon.

I don't get why it's such a difficult thing to find? Doesn't LG make a car charger that charges it's own phone?
I use my older Motorola ones and they work fine. Not full 2 amp but I can stream iheartradio or Pandora and the phone will charge up still. But the screen is off, not like using GPS. Still would like a fast charger tho.
I have an Anker 24w 2 port charger and it charges my phone as fast as the wall charger. I tested it with a charger doctor and it does read 1.8a current flowing thru.

It's not the charger that seems to be the problem. 2a Chargers can be had in many places. It seems a 20 gauge wire is the difference.
Here is a link to a post I made in another thread with a tested and working setup in my car
Cheap too.

No, the problem is the op isn't using a charger designed for Android.

Charging Cable That Doesn't Suck?

Or rather, one that actually STICKS? I've used the HTC cable, Amazon's brand, Monoprice, ect. Can anybody recommend a brand that will actually stay in place consistently? Even with a bumper case on? Sick of he damn power cable falling out as soon as I pick up my device.
Maybe the problem is not in the cables, but rather in the port itself.
Yeah I have zero issues with any of the cables especially the HTC one. One problem I do have is with the headphone jack. All my headphones seem to come out easily but maybe that's just because the port is on the bottom

Mine stays in place fine with the htc cord. Is your case getting in the way of the plug?
Check out dollar tree. Picked up one for $1 for the hell of it , was kinda shocked that it worked.

im using a bestbuy rocketfish lighted usb cable in my car and it stays plugged in great, during a couple stops and turns the phone has gone flying and it stays plugged in lol.
Don't use the Samsung ones, they seem to fall off easier than all you mentioned. One that really sticks for me is the wire i got from my sony xperia. If you have the chance maybe stop by a Sony store and try them out. Although I'm not sure if you can buy them separately

I have no problems at all with the HTC adapter except for when I try to use it at it's maximum length. Where the wall adapter is and my bed it jusssst reaches. So if I am charging and want to play a quick game or surf the web at 1AM, the cord is at it's maximum length with my arm extended out a bit.. so any slight movement yanks it out of the wall or the phone, but that's entirely my fault.
I would recommend taking your device to the store and getting your charging port looked at. Also try taking your case off and try just handling the phone while charging, as mentioned above maybe its the case that's getting in the way of the cable.
It's rather tight in and out of my port. Almost to tight. I have to use a good amount of force to insert and remove.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
Original HTC cable is working very well for me ... port is very tight, solid connections with or without case ...
I think others are right: take it to AT&T and ask them to check out the port.
Good luck!

Amazon cable is great for me with original adapter. It has length options and its pretty cheap in price, not in quality.

I love mediabridge cables. By far the fastest charging, best "teeth," and perfect length.
I own two, one for my car and one for my bedside. I use the cable the phone came with for my computer for data transfer and stuff, but their charging only cables are fantastic.

Plus one for media bridge cables. I have a dozen of them of various lengths and ages spanning from a few months to several years old. All work perfectly.
