I know many people have been wanting group messaging the way it works on iPhones. Well I have tested it on my shiny new Atrix HD and it works

I thought Bloo sucked.
The new free version of bloo that the dev released is actually pretty good. Its being updated a bit more regularly than the old one as well.

I AGREE
moto droid!
So you guys giving answers I assume you've tested all three droid/cliq/bloo?
It'd be nice if someone can do a comparison. I personally have Babbler and the Droid Facebook app. I like the native facebook app but I use Babbler for the lacking features in the native app. Mainly being able to upload a video and being able choose what album a photo gets uploaded to (I suspect that with the native app photos will always be uploaded to the "Mobile Uploads" album and they're not going to change that).
I've never seen the Cliq Facebook app (and didn't realize it was different, I guess it's tied down to the whole MotoBlur thing?)
So yeah, if some has had a chance to test a few of those and could do a comparison that would be awesome.
I've used Fringe with my Infuse, but it doesn't seem to want to work with the Thrill.
Wikipedia works well, but is complicated to use.
Has anyone used any other video call apps that work across platforms? My wife refuses to give up the iPhone 4.
Try using tango

i tried using tango but i dont know what the deal is with that app lately...it refuses to change to the correct camera on atleast one of the phones at all times...ive tried with an atrix, iphone 4, infuse, thrill...all with same results. atleast one will not change to the right camera

I have just been using the qik lite app. that was built into the phone. It has so far worked pretty well and like you my wife refuses to get rid of her iPhone 4.
Looking at trading my PS Vita due to non-use for an HP Touchpad with dual boot -32 GB. Is there anything I can't do with the tablet- like netflix, skype, or any android apps that don't work? Sorry for such a noob question!
Overall- is it a good tablet?
Just got mine from Craigslist 2 weeks ago and its an amazing tablet with cm9..couldn't be happier with it

The camera doesn't work in android. I don't know if Skype is available for webos. If you look in themes and app thread there are workarounds for a lot of apps.

Skype works perfectly in Webos. Plus there is a good app for changing boot order and time delay amongst many other things give it a try . I mainly use nightly but do go back to Webos for Skype and a couple off other apps.
Have fun :good:
I haven't been able to get Osmos to work, though others have. Other than that and the above-mentioned camera, it's a great tablet. (Admittedly, it would be easier to just buy a tablet built for Android like the $200 Nexus, but since you seem to have a situation where it's a one-for-one trade, it's still a great tablet.)

I got mine from the humble indie bundle, and it offers a tablet version, which I assume is the HD version. That doesn't work either...just a black screen.

Well, I guess I can understand. I had the same issue with Splashtop HD... same black screen. That was on AOKP, when I flashed O.a.T.'s Light and Tasty it started working.

I just tried flashing from Oat's Light and Tasty to CM9, and suddenly Osmos works...that was strange. Maybe Oat's was a bad flash somehow. But thanks for the hint about swapping ROMs.
osmos hd from the amazon appstore works perfectly for me and i still use splashtop 1 on cm9 regularly.....
maybe a bad flash as others have noted

I bought 10.1 tab pro for my mom who also has an iphone. There's gotta be an app like mighty text that works with iOS.
Any recommendations that are very simple. She's old, and doing anything more complex then installing an app will cause problems.
Thanks!

try mysms
Any particular preference here. Only difference I see is that Samsung's allows videos to play in preview form.
(btw neither will play videos in original form beyond :10sec...which I knew but it's the same if using YouTube or Google Links.
Sucks
Ive been using Textra for the past year or so. I did try Samsung's for a little bit when I first got the phone but ended up going back to Textra. The stock Android one is pretty terrible, IMO.

There are two different ones?
Which comes build in?
I really like Message+ from Verizon. It's in the Play store for free.

I like the interface, the customizability, and the fact that it doesn't break long messages up. There's probably a slew of others that I'm not aware of too.

This. I've been using it non-stop since discovering it on my Note 4. It is far superior to Samsung's offering, IMO.
I used 8sms before but its not working properly with nougat now, I've been using mood messenger lately it's good. Try it out.

Textra is amazing. +1
Next sms....best popup in the business. IMHO.
Between the two, I prefer Android. Admittedly, it's mostly because I can send more pictures per message. I send a ton of messages to my parents of my kids, etc. It also works better (imho) with Google Assistant.

Why do you say that? The only thing I see that separates VZW messages + is it works/syncs with your other VZW devices. I used it for a while with my tablets and watches. Also it was one of the very few apps that allowed scheduling texts. But also one of the few that didn't allow blocking texts. I don't use it anymore. Dumped it for Sammy messages app. I really enjoy the Bixby integration.

Of the two in use Android. Samsung doesn't support Gboard gifs and stickers.

I think it also does things like suggest emojis for predictive text, if you want to be one of the kewl kids. I thought it was sort of interesting at first, but at my age the kids would just roll their eyes

I say this because I like it better than Samsung's offering. I don't care about blocking texts, as I don't find myself in the need for something that does that. I've also found that it works a lot more quickly on my Note 4. I always had a bit of lag with the Samsung messenger.
And I do love the integration with other devices. I have it installed on all of my computers, tablets, etc. It works well on any device.

Personally i use Samsung. I use digits, and with the built in integration between dialer, digits, rcs, and their app moving away and using something else breaks how well it works for me.

when you press the + only emojis are visible unless in horizontal mode Anyone know of any fix for that?
cause otherwise i like the app
