LG revolution LTE Simcard? - LG Revolution

Hi,
I think my phone is dead and has BO 2.01 on it. This mean I cant return it. So my question is if I buy the unlocked galaxy S 3 will my lte simcard from verizon work in it?
Story about my phone = boring:
I flashed BO 2.00 and was getting lots of VODs. I then flashed BO 2.01 and still had VODs, I then flashed blitz 3 beta but before i could test it my batter died and will not hold a charge at all. When i try to charge my phone it just gets extremely hot. So I just bought a new batter to verify if its the battery or the phone hardware. Note this is a refurbished lg revo so my assumption is its hardware. This is why i want to buy a new phone.
Thanks.

You might be able to do that emergency recovery mode using lgnpst. To get the Revo to take a charge. I'm not sure about the sim card though, sorry man.

I don't think your sim from your revolution will fit I believe the gs3 has a micro sim like the galaxy nexus although getting one would be free either way just got to Verizon and ask for one.

Do you have a source for that? That sounds great! I heard "after the summer" before.

4g down in akron ohio?

Can anyone confirm this? My bionic will not pick up 4g.

Try calling Verizon?

I did they said they would look into it since I was the first to report.

They always tell me there is no problem and to reset my phone lol

Probably the worst place the ask this question. Drill down how many bionic owners live in Akron, then drill down how many actually know what xda-developers is...May want to try the vzw support forum, but since you already called, pull the battery, if it doesn't come back, see about bringing the handset in.
I live in akron but will not be home until tomorow.

I am home now and 4g is working great on my phone here in akron.

I live near canton and 4G works every day for me in Canton and worked fine in Akron this weekend.
They had to send me a new sim. Idk why but they turned my original sim off? Even tho it picked up 3g

Hopefully the SIM card worked. I took my bionic into vzw with complaints about the phone losing data, and when changing from 4g to 3g, it would loose data connection also, and it wouldnt pick up 4g when it should have. first they gave me a new SIM and sent me on my way.
That didn't help, and two days later, went back into vzw. After a factory data wipe and telling the vzw rep that a wipe wouldnt help, luckily the phone wouldnt go into 4G in the store, and they finally realized that the phone had a problem.
The new phone seems to be much better, but occasionally it will take a while to switch from 4g to 3g or 1g.

The switch from 4g or 1x to 3g is a problem that all verizon 4g phones have. It is a problem with the 1st generation 4g chips. The only debate Is whether it is a hardware problem or a firmware problem. Unfortunately for all of us, verizon is skirting the issue and seriously procrastinating about fixing it.

Good Bye Bionic

After two replacement Bionics and a new SIM card, Verzion and I decided that it was time for a new phone. Hello Galaxy Nexus! Before leaving the Bionic though I was wondering if anyone else had an issue with data drops or was it just my area?

I have the same issues, in fact i was going to send mine back but they offered me a referb bionic...needless to say i held off but well see if they will eventually switch. Im on ICS leak (.232) with AOKP and its way better that on stock .905 GB (at times it was completely unuseable).
I see we are from teh same area though, so i dont know if its a bionic thing or 4g in detroit area. How is the nexus connection? Any drops?
After getting the Nexus and flashing the CM10 ROM it works flawlessly. Not a single data issue to be found.
im going on my 4th bionic!! ( first was data drops, second was bad speaker, third has a bad screen, fourth is on its way) next bad phone and im going to start pushign for a galaxy nexus also....
I didn't have to push very hard to get the Nexus. Just make sure you tell them you are a loyal customer and threaten to go to another carrier.
Did you have to sign on for a 2 year contract to get it?

Nope. Just complain enough and they'll give it to you for free.

I'm from the metro Detroit area myself.had data drops so bad the phone was nearly unuseable during certain times for the past couple months. Don't know why but it was the Facebook app. Uninstalled it and tada, no more data drops.

I will definitely have to try that tomorrow. I'm so few up with these phones. I've had 3 phones and 2 Sim cards, and still problems. I was under the impression you'd have to sign on for another contract
Update: just called in, the guy said he could only offer me the Thunderbolt (non dual core) or the Charge (no ICS). I pushed and pushed but they wouldn't bulge. The guy did say that ICS was coming very soon, and he thought it would help (I'm doubtful). But we'll see.

I was having the same problems. I read on another forum to set the battery mode to performance, that has seemed to take care of the problem.

HTC $100 buyback?

I have an Evo 3D rooted s–off on cyanogenmod...
I will be using this for the rebate but my question was do you guys think I need to un root and go back stock or just flash a stock rom and send it in? What would you do?

Definitely flash a stock rom. I don't know about unrooting it but better safe then sorry. In their terms of service they will be powering on the phones and ensuring they work - then wiping all data. If there is anything wrong, suspicious, etc I don't see them passing on the chance of not giving you $100.
I have on old hero that still works but half of one of the volume keys is missing. Think it will get kicked back? I have an evo4g but I would rather send the hero.

I was gonna go for the trade up program as well with my evo 3D, but I decided that since it's in perfect condition and I have a 32 GB card in it that I won't need anymore, I'm gonna see if I can get over $100 for it on ebay. The T&C for the trade up states that they WILL NOT ship your phone back if you get rejected, just so you're all aware.
I'm sending either my 3d or an old palm per I have laying around. If I send the 3d in I'm leaving it as is, rooted with a custom rom on it.

[Q] HTC one no sim card detected.. HELP

I have an HTC ONE m7 that is about a year old and is rooted and running omni rom. It has been rooted for about 6 months and I had been running cyanogonmod and everything was running fine until last week when I got the dreaded sim card error. a restart of the phone did the trick. 2 days later it happened again and this time a restart did not work and my phone was out of commission for about 4 hours as I tried everything to fix it (including a full wipe of cyanogen and a fresh install with omni rom) with no success. Then one random time I restarted it popped back up and everything was fine. Now over the last few days it keeps giving me the sim error and only goes away after random amounts of time and restarts. If the error does go away and I have service. I get 4g LTE for about 10 minutes before I lose the ability to make any calls/texts or have any data connectivity. I have tried the scotch tape trick with no success as well as changing my APN. I'm sadly starting to think this may be a hardware issue.
Any thoughts??

Test your phone with another sim card
test your sim card in another phone
If the phone is defective, send it for repair
If the sim is defective, buy another one.

The sim is working in another phone and a working sim is also not working with my phone.. Any thoughts on where to send it for repair? AT&T said they will not replace it and HTC said the same
Why did they say they wouldn't?

apparently ATT said they wouldn't because the phone is just over a year old and they only replace devices that are under a year. And htc said that isnt a known issue and because I bought the phone over a year ago, they couldn't help me

well you can send your phone for repair to htc even if its more than 1 year old but you'll have to pay for the repair.
Ahhh damn. It sucks but you will have to pay. A lot cheaper than getting a new phone

Yeah its a real bummer. I'm still just confused on why it all of a sudden stopped working. I mean I didn't drop it or get it wet and didn't make any software changes either. Its just odd.
