Tell Google: "I'm not even mad, I'm impressed!"
That is horrible man... Our screen flicker is just like seeing your brightness go from 5% to 4‰ 10 times in a second. A florescent light flickering. Some have it worse than others.

Are you guys using automatic brightness? I've never seen a tablet do that well. Turn it off and see if it gets better.
That is, unless by "akward" screen issue" you meant your spelling of "awkward"...

Nexus 7 variations/issues

So I was wondering if between the different variations 16GB/32GB and 32+mobile if the same issues were showing up or if the new ones have quietly addressed the issues.
So far these are the main issues
Screen flicker
Difficulty when waking from sleep
Unresponsive power button to power on after powered off
Any others please add and respond to above question thanks all

Nexus 7 32Gb WiFi only CAO. Three points of minor light bleed at top. Bad flicker on auto no matter WiFi signal strength. Have to be at least 28% brightness to go away. No screen lift. I may exchange this one but expect chances are I will get a replacement with similar issues. I just have to find in myself if it is worth it.
I have a 16Gb C9O that doesn't have these issues at all and tint isn't quite as yellow either though I fix that with Filter My Screen app. I prefer that app over Screen Adjuster because it doesnt cause a performance hit.

[Q] Faulty screen : squares and dots on it (with photos)

Hi guys,
Yesterday I bought a Nexus 32gb in Fnac, and I realized that with the screen off the light of a close reading lamp is reflected in it and because of this I can see a dotted line and "squares" in the screen (I suppose it's the tactile panel)
The weirdest thing is after seeing the dotted line with the screen off, when I turn it on with the highest bright and a white background I keep on seeing those points
Would you be so kind as to check this?
Thanks for all.
My one x and asus transformer have them too.

I'm very grateful for your answer.
Do you still see them in the same place when you turn the screen on for a few seconds and put a white background in it?
The squares are in an obvious pattern. There is no way that could be a bad screen. All HP touchpad had it.

Ok, but I dont think it's normal that I can see the points with screen on (with background white)
Regards.
I see this with the Kindle Fire but not with the Nexus 7.

I've noticed this pattern on my Nexus 7 as well, but only when the screen is off and hit by a bright light at just the right angle. And even then, I have to really look for it.
I've never been able to notice it while the screen was turned on though.

No problem here. All screens have this. Its the touch sensor.

ah no, i can only see them when the screen in off and i am outside with bright sunlight on the front face... no chance of seeing them on white background here. :good:
It is normal. Stop being paranoid and just accept what people are telling you. It is normal to see that pattern while the screen is on if you have a bright background.
Edit: If people say they cant see them they are not looking for it correctly. All capacative screen has em'. True story

Backlight Bleeding

Sorry if this topic has been posted already, but is anyone else experiencing back light bleed. It's most noticeable with high brightness and black background. I wouldn't complain about something like this normally but it's quite noticeable on mine.

Lets see some picture examples?
It's IPS, they all have it, if you don't want bleed then buy an OLED screen. Why do you think they never turn the screen to full brightness at shows?

Screen Flickering issue?

Notice some screen flickering on my device from time to time. Only thing I can think of is I was charging with a different cable then the one that comes with the phone and when I unplugged the problem went away.
Mostly notice when transitioning between screens and charging. Anyone else?
I haven't noticed any flickering at all, even with a different cable.

I have noticed it too with the screen dimmed and only with the turbo charger. Just some interference I would imagine. I am not worried about it.

Always on Display

I have noticed the Note 7 always on is WAYYY brighter than the S7 Edge always on.
Anyway to change that?
What about screen burn in, do we think there will be a problem?
I had the same question. I don't want to turn it off but it's really bright.

Same here way too bright. I turned it off until there is a fix. Wish we could adjust it to personal preferences.
there's a 70mb international patch that samsung has released with a few bug fixes and improvements. the screen brightness might be part of the improvements. wont know til tmobile decides to push the patch to us. but as far as burn in goes i wouldnt worry about that. if you notice the always on screen moves position up and down your screen. this prevents burn in.

Unless you're using a S View cover, mine doesn't move (not that I've noticed anyway) ... Was a little concerned myself. I have an LG OLED display, the 65" EF9500, I know it's not as prone to burn in as compared to plasma, but the TV will run a screen clean cycle when powered down after every 10 hours of use, or there about... Not sure if the Note does anything behind the scenes to prevent or deal with possible IR ..

Mine DOES NOT move either.
Also there was an update today in the Galaxy Apps for the always on display. From what I can tell not much of a change
I believe the movement is 1 pixel every 10 minutes, random jump every 60 minutes. Is that not the case anymore?

it does move. and you're probably right about the time of the movement. the ppl that dont see it move are probably expecting it to move within 30s of them looking at it. it takes some time for it to move. over the past 2 hours mine was at the bottom of my screen it is now in the middle of my screen.

No you won't face an issue with screen burn in! That's an lcd screen issue with the pixels! You won't see that issue on your QHD display!

Just received the always on display update... FYI

Lol wut? You got that backward. AMOLED *DOES* get burn in. LCD only occasionally suffers from image retention but that's temporary.
